Here is a new mechanic I jus though of, it revive Banding and call it Fortify here are 3 card examples.

Defender of Bright Light 2W
Creature-Human Knight
Firststrike
Fortify(You can add this cards power and toughness to target creature until end of turn)

Druid of Light 2GW
Creature-Human Druid
Trample
Fortify(You can add this cards power and toughness to target creature until end of turn)
3/3

Defending the Week 2W
Instant
All creatures you control gets Fortify until end of turn.

Another Mechanic that I like to see is Phasing here is a nice card I think be cool to see with Phasing.

Mother Bear 1UG
Creature-Illusion Bear
Phasing(This creature is removed from the game until your next turn.)
When this creature comes into play all other creatures get a +1/+1 counter.

Compulsive Illusion 2UR
Creature-Illusion
Flying
Phasing(This creature is removed from the game until your next turn.)
When this creature comes into play deal 2 damage to target creature or player.

Another mechanic that be cool to see is one like this Desert lands or Creatures here are some examples.

Dust Angel 1WW
Sand-Covered Creature-Angel
Flying
2 Sand Mana symble: Tap, All damage done to you is reduced to 1.

Sandstorm Dragon 5RRR
Sand-Covered Creature-Dragon
Flying
2 Sand Mana symble: Tap, Destroy target Artifact, Enchantment, or land.
R: This creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.

Desert Stronghald
Sand-Covered Land
Tap: Add 1 colorless mana to your mana pool.
2 Sand Mana symble: Tap, Reduce all damage done to you or a creature you control by 2.

Let me know what your thoughts are I like to see thease have a comeback in future sets. :D

Additional Comment:
I think it be cool to see a set based on a Desert World. What are your thoughts on it. :D

Fortify (During your declare attackers step, if ~ and at least one other creature you control are attacking, you may add ~'s power and toughness to another attacking creature. If you do, ~ deals no combat damage this turn.)

-I altered Fortify to make it work functionally, though you may consider adding an activationg cost and/or requiring it to add the p/t to another creature with fortify.

-There's one non-blue related card (I say blue related for Teferi's Isle and Warping Wurm) without phasing and that's Old Fogey from Unhinged, so making a phasing card that isn't blue is just wrong.
-You need better reminder text for phasing, if you use any at all.
-The effect is too good and doesn't fit black.

Oh my bad I updated I ment B for blue, but I rembered U was ment for Blue. Thanks for your time and have a great day. :D

Also I like what you did with Fortify, I looks more able to play. :D

Additional Comment:
I was thinking of a Mechanic I like to see and this came to mind.

Coalishion(When this card attacks it gets +X/+X equal to all creatures of chosen color attacking this turn.

Here are some examples:

Elvish General 2GG
Creature-Elf Lord
When this creature comes into play choose a color.
Coalishion(When this card attacks it gets +X/+X equal to all creatures of chosen color attacking this turn.)
1 Tap: Add GGG to your mana pool.

Coalishion Commander 1WW
Creature-Human Soldier
When this creature comes into play choose a color.
Coalishion(When this card attacks it gets +X/+X equal to all creatures of chosen color attacking this turn.)
Firststrike

Unlikly Coalishion 2GURWB
Enchantment
All creatures you control have:
Coalishion(When this card attacks it gets +X/+X equal to all creatures of chosen color attacking this turn.)
Instead of Choosing colors you can use Coalishion for all colors.

I think this mechanic be cool to see in the future next to Fortify.

you should make it so taht there is no damage delt to either creature.
