View Full Version : How can I prevent fainting members of my own party?

Sometimes an attack from my partner faints my leader or a pokemon I am escorting. Bulby razorleafs Swampy, or Swampy icebeams Bulby.

The non-leader pokemon attacks on its own probably as it senses a foe in the same dungeon. Unfortuantely, if my leader or other party member is in the path they get hit. Is there something I can do to prevent this, it is really getting annoying especially when doing an "A" or "S" level escort.

I looked at the IQ stuff and noticed there was a 'non-traitor' ability and switched it but it didn't seen to prevent the problem. Anyone else have this happen and anyone know how to stop the self-attacks?

Non-traitor doesn't work?

Hmm.... I've seen this pop up, but I rarely have a problem with it. You can tell them not to use the skill though.

I would just probally teach your Bulby{I can't spell venasaur and bulby is just a cool name} some different moves, maybe the Sunny Day Solarbeam combo, if it works in this game?

Especially on a Chlorophyll pokemon. Razor leaf is great for sniping. I've noticed an issue with linking. if you set the chain as: growth+razor leaf. The AI will use it whenever Growth would be appropriate, not when Razor leaf is appropriate. But something like leer+scratch, since they have the same activation condition the AI will use it properly.

Turns out that I needed to have the "Course Checker" IQ switched and that seems to have done it. I also have the non-traitor switched. No more self-fainting.

4 IQ questions:
How many IQ 'traits' can we switch on simultaneously.
Does the max match the number of gold stars?
Is there a max nunber to like be fully IQ maxed?
What IQ combo do you like best for your leader?

What IQ combo do you like best for your leader? You can have almost all of them on at once. but there are some that are mutually exclusive.

Thanx, marhawkman. I found out that when you reach max (like around 12 stars) it actually says the word "MAX" by IQ lol.

Some seem to work best in pairs: Trap seer + trap avaoider are awesome. Course checker + non-traitor too.

Then again if you have trapseer, trapavoider is redundant. The same as Allterrain hiker and Supermobile. The weird part is that non-sleeper and self curer can't be turned on with the one for reducing the rate at which you get hungry.

Hmm. I have both trap seer and trap avoider switched on with the stars simultaneously, for both my pokemon. Non-sleeper/self-curer are mutually self exclusive (they are next to each other and only one can be switched on at the same time).

??? Really... hmm... I guess I'll have to double check that.

Give them the IQ: Dedicated traveller. That way, it will only attack if you attack/ move and he/she can't move.
