I was wondering which tournaments counted as pro tour qualifiers.

Does Regionals count as one?

No Regionals qualify you for Nationals. You know it's a PTQ if its listed as one. They're called PTQ ________.

Grand Prixs are also very large scale qualifiers, where I believe the Top 8 are invited to whatever PT it feeds.

PTQs/GPs/PTs are somewhat seperate from the Regionals/Nationals/Worlds circuit.

So regionals get you invites to nationals, which get you invites to world circuit?

Yes. You can also get invited to nationals based of your rating.

In order to get an invitation to Nationals, you have to do/be one of the following things:

Make Top 8 at Regionals then win your T8 matchup (Top 4 qualify)
Level 2+ Pro Player (10+ Pro Points)
Be a member of your country's Nationals Team from last year (or alternate)
Have your Composite DCI Ranking be in the Top 100 in your Country

First: what account are you talking about?
Second: the site isnt even coming up, and it says it cannot be found (meaning its most likely fake).
Third: what does an account have to do with quitting?

WTF are you talking about? And why are you posting it here? Im curious to know what this ********** thing is...

he is just trying to sell his cards in pretty much every mtg forum

*reported*

I went 4-3 at my local(read 4 hour drive) PTQ. for some reason my deck didnt kick in until the 3rd round and I won 4 straight games in a row. Then in the 7th round, which I need to win to get packs, I lose. Go figure =(. Was going to write a article about it, but after going 0-2 I was like... w/e no one is going to want to read about something this bad...

That sounds like what happened to me at champs. I had to win the last round to get top 8 and I lost it to some deck that I think is crap (hakkon flair).

He poxed my colored land, and i didnt get any colors until after he drops angel of dispair. Then I get the blood moon and he kills me with the angel lol.

Has anybody found anything (SCHEDULE!) of the upcoming extended PTQs? Somebody told me January, but I've heard from other people they don't start till February.

It should be posted soon on the WotC site. The two we are running are Jan 6th in Charleston, WV and March 10th in Roanoke, VA.

Thanks, that actually helps. It proves the 'not until february' wrong. Now I just have to hope that my area's date is one i can actually attend.

This is great, but mine is the 6th of january, and I dont have any good decks (have affinity and Tooth and nail and goblins) except goblin bidding. Ill probably build boros, BW-Vindicate.deck or something.

What is your prediction for the most popular deck?

Tooth is a good deck if you build and play it properly.

I expect BDW to be highly popular among netdeckers on the Extended PTQ circuit, at least at first. Next on the list would be decks like Sunnyside Eggs or Dirty Kitty, which were heavily hyped at Worlds, as well as decks from last season sporting new tech, like Heartbeat Desire. Truthfully, no one's really figured out Extended yet.

My tooth and nail is not very good at this point. My brother is the one who plays it, and he is competitive, but likes funny things- like dark depths in the wish board, and running only 20 land...

I think that a good black white aggro deck would do VERY well. It has the tech against both affintity (kataki) and Goblins (plague) and combo (rule of law). In my opinion, dirty kittys is trash; I went against it yesterday night and killed it. It will be a popular net deck i think.

Dirty Kitty is a bad deck in inexperienced hands. If you beat some random netdecker at your local store trying to play it, I wouldn't be all that surprised.

BDW will be immensely popular at first though. It wins, it's fast and it's one of the easier decks to play; those are all qualities which last-minute netdeckers like.

and what tech is there against it?

I wouldn't call anti-aggro cards tech, but there are a lot of them. T&N gets Moment's peace, which hoses Boros hard. Affinity and Goblins should just race.

The Association

Aside from the obvious mass removal (Wrath, Pyroclasm), Exalted Angel is pretty good tech against Boros, or any aggro in general. It avoids Char, beats face and gains life, slowing them down.

As Hazen said, Tooth gets Moment's Peace. Sphere of Law could soften the blow of their burn spells and red creatures. Pithing Needle can shut off Goblin Legionnaire, Grim Lavamancer, etc.

I'm just throwing ideas out there.

Orconem

Loxodon Hierarch is good for dealing with Boros. A lot of bad Boros players will use up all their burn right away and not wait until a threat hits the board, so a well placed Elephant can really trip them up.

dirty kitty is really pretty bad...its way too inconsistant. without fecundity, its just a relatively poor aggro deck. almost any aggro hate will do it in at that point.

BDW is going to be really popular, and there's going to be TaN, affinity, scepter chant, trinket angel, etc wherever you go. personally, i like TEPS and scepter chant right now...teps is really hate resistant, and scepterchants just a really solid deck...trinketangel is really good too. i think boros is going to fade in popularity...not right now, but sometime in the near future.

No deck is hate resistent, especially TEPS, Dwarven Blastminer, Stife, Molten Rain, it just keeps going.

Like above I agree that BDW will be a popular deck, along with Dirtty Kitty, aggro seems the way for a lot of people this way with Combo following and less control decks. Although i amy be wrong with Trinket Angels hitting the playing feild more after worlds along with Azourios Tron.

The last extended ptq in pa showed me that i was right about dirty kitty.. we all were. it is absolutely a terrible deck. As for me, I'm almost done building scepter chant and heartbeat combo. Both are very solid in my opinion, hopefully they will prove solid during competition time. Im just afraid of krosan grip at this point :)
