This has been asked time and time again.

Netbattle is pretty much dead now. Neither TVsIan or MasamuneXGP have any interest in maintaining it at all. Right now, chaos is working on Pokemon Competitor, which will be like Netbattle, except you won't have to run it inside wine.

I'm not so sure.
So change my statment to 'In case they do maintain it, they will do it'.

We WILL have some new programe sometime.

Even if TVsIan were active in working out bugs in the current programming, there's no way he'd add D/P mechanics, he explicitly stated that the reason he created Netbattle was because he wanted to provide a means of online Pokemon play and that if Nintendo ever introduced a way to play online (like D/P's Wifi), he would halt distribution of the program.
