When I see walkthroughs and such I see this term used alot, whats it mean?

STAB = Same Type Attack Bonus

Meaning, a water pokemon using a water move will have that moves power increase by 1.5 I beleive...I am not sure the percentage.

Yes, basically it adds 50% to the base power of the attack [from what I understood from these forums some months ago] if the Pokemon and the attack share a type in common.
[A Flygon's Dragon Claw will have 120 base instead of 80 base.
His Earthquake will have 150 instead of 100.]
