im going to make a fun team and im going to use politoed in it, but i never used it before(couldnt trade till now) so i dont know a good moveset, can you help me?

[Near]

Funny one I came up with:
Surf
Ice Beam
Haze
Swagger

or just a Special Sweeper/whatever
Psychic
Hypnosis
Surf
Ice Beam

Or some
Belly Drum
Earthquake
Focus Punch/Brick Break
Hypnosis

For the first weird set, it's some Hazer but Haze also works good with Swagger..
Surf and Ice Beam for attacking..

Second set is just sweeping.

Third set is basically put them to sleep and use belly drum, then use Focus Punch.

You can always just go for a
Focus Punch
Hypnosis
Surf
Ice Beam
but with his mediocre attack, I doubt it will work too good for you.

Another option is just
Belly Drum
Hypnosis
Earthquake
Brick Break
For some Physical Sweeper.

For the first set the hold item can be Leftovers/Mystic Water.
For the second one probably Mystic Water..
For the Belly Drummers go for Leftovers.

Pretty much, use Hynosis, the Song and finish with Surf or if it can learn Mean Look use that to keep them there. Use Rest when near death

Can he learn Mean Look? Don't just guess moves..

Also, you can try Body Slam instead of Brick Break

[Do note that these are all sets I came up wit just by looking at his moves,
so don't complain saying I don't use the CC move-set from Smogon]

Psychic = TM29, you know.
Ice Beam is also a tm, TM13, and Calm Mind is TM04, while Surf is HM3.

Basically this move-set invloves nothing natural.

Haze is the only Egg move we recommended.

I dont think Politoed is able to learn Calm mind, I checked Smogon & Netbattle for the available moves and Calm Mind was not one of them, Although it would be awesome if Politoed could learn it. Jan

My bad, confused it with Slowking.

So just use that one with Hypnosis instead, or some special Hidden Power [grass? fire?]
