-The Italion Man
breeding is when you raise other's pokemon's level for money, and you help people get some poke eggs.
You want to be good in something yet you don't even know what it is.
I'm sorry but I just broke my screen out of laughter, I'll be right back and teach you.
Okay seriously, are you smoking weed or something?
Breed - I guess you could call it, in Pokemon, making two Pokemons have fun [See - Forcing a squirell and a snake to have fun]. Basically you do this for -
Creating new Pokemons.
For new natures/IVs/Shiny/whatever.
Simply because it's impossible/very hard to catch that Pokemon again [Ex - Sudowoodo, version exclusives, or just rare Pokemons]
Hereditary moves [AKA - Egg moves]
Moves that a Pokemon can get only by breeding with another Pokemon [EX - Wish for Eevee, Dragon Dance for Salamence, etc]
That should be it. There's more on breeding but that's the base. I'm referring to making eggs.

I know what BREEDING is! i just want to know how to breed a stong pokemon with good stats
Breed - Raise or Breed - Make a love fruit?
For creating a new Pokemon [one born from an egg]
You can't do much about his stats.
The only thing you can do is to make him 'strong' by giving him good egg moves, and give him a good Nature.

well, thats what i want to know. i want to raise a
Elekid
Magby
chimecho
Gligar
Evee
And? Go force a Ditto + the same Pokemon/his evolution to have it.
Or either two same Pokemons, or some specific ones [Like, Skitty + Meowth or whatever]
I don't get your question. If you simply want them, then do as above, put a Ditto + Evolution/Same Pokemon desired in the day-care and after some time you'll get an Egg.
If you want some special moves on them, then that's another long story.
Redwallwalrus
10-06-2006, 12:36 PM
yes! the long story
It depends on specific Pokemons.
Basically, egg moves are moves a Pokemon can only learn trough breeding, and it is usually with mixed parents.
You should read more about it here:
http://www.serebii.net/games/breed.shtml
Feel free to ask questions.

the stats vary hatch a few eggs of the same pokemon
an rasie them a few lvs and see which ones go up best.

The egg moves also depend whether they are compatible with the baby. For example, imagine breeding 2 Gyarados with the male having Hyper Beam. Can you imagine a Magikarp having Hyper Beam :D ? Try breeding Blaziken with Slaking to get the Endure/Reversal combo or Counter.

You can't do much about his stats.
The only thing you can do is to make him 'strong' by giving him good egg moves, and give him a good Nature.
Actually, you can make his stats strong. Get your facts straight.
A pokemon egg will randomly be given two of either parent's IVs. To get an awesome egg, breed to pokemon with 31 IVs in the stats you want your egg to be strong in.

That is just a bet, unless you manage to get both parents to have 31 IVs in the stats you want, and to get a Pokemon with the IVs you want [EX- you want the father's speed, yet the mom's attack, it might take some time to get that 'perfect Pokemon' with the desired IVs and Nature. {though you can get a Nature trought the Mother or something}]
Basically, you waste a lot of time to get a good Natured Pokemon with good IVs.
That's also why many people don't like breeding.

If you're really serious about getting good natured pokemon with good IVs, you will waste that time. Breeding is a pain, but if done correctly, your results will be fantastic.
It took three days of egg hatching before I got the Nincada that I raised. It had the nature I wanted (jolly) and had 31 IVs in Hp, 30 in Def, 29 in Sp.Def, and 30 in Speed.

..Which is quite a waste unless you really need it for something important like a tournament.
If it's just for in-game battles/link battles, it's a waste of time.

Not really. If you have friends that do the same, then its important to raise top of the line pokemon. Its also for bragging rights.
Using your logic, shiny pokemon are a waste of time.

If you actually go hunting them, it's a huge waste.
If shinies weren't so rare, people wouldn't care about them. What's so special about a different color?
Of course they are a waste of time. Especially the people who hatch eggs for shinies.

I agree. It is a waste of time. I was reffering to people who randomly find shinys in the wild.

Then what is a waste in a random encounter?
It's not like you were burning a lot of time to find one, you just happened to land on one, and since people want them for some reason, and because it's 'special', then why not waste a minute or two to catch it?

Getting that near-perfect IV pokemon is like finding that random shiny amongst the hordes of normal colored pokemon.
If you say that it's a waste of time to get that near-perfect IV pokemon, then you should just run away or kill that random shiny.

Actually, there is a difference betwen randomly finding a shiny/great IVs Pokemon, and between wasting days to get one.

He means that there's a difference between finding a shiny when you're not looking for one and spending days just to catch a stupid shiny that may be worthless in battle.

Yes, there is a difference, but that random encounter shiny will still 9.999 times out of 10 be worthless in battle.
Breeding a pokemon to perfection ensures that it will not be worthless in battle. It's just too bad if you don't want to spend that much time on it.

Maybe. Check its IVs here (http://64.72.117.249/games/ivs.shtml)
Also don't forget to EV your Snorlax properly.
Read all about EVs here (http://www.serebii.net/games/mechanics.shtml) (in the EV section)

Did you catch them in the wild, or hatch them and level them up?
It's alot easier to make good pokemon to raise through breeding.
Also, I can't tell you if they're any good without you giving me natures and IVs.

Right after you hatch your pokemon, never just level them willy nilly. Check their IVs and calculate the right EVs. Make sure you have a beneficial nature also.
No, I don't have AOL.

Dont understand IVs. Natures and Snorlax stats.....
Snorlax Lv29 Hp 136
Atk 72
Def 51
Sp Atk47 Sp Def 74
Speed 30 Nature Bashfull
Lickitung nature Lax
Magnamite nature Timid
Tangula nature BOLD
What do natures do? i know they raise stuff but what does what. Also, can i breed a pokemon with a naturally low def but high attack with another pokemon with vice versa? If i did that, would that outcome be a pokemon with high Defense and Attack?
Additional Comment:
u have Msn? What is a good pokemon to raise? What are the top 5 u would raise, and how would u. And should i train them a special way?

Actually, you need to breed a Pokemon with high IVs in attack and one with high IVs in defense and then the baby might have a good atttack an defense
[chances are like 25%, so breed a lot]
Natures raise a stat by 10% and lower another by 10%, or don't affect it at all. There are like, 24 natures, so I'm not going to list them all, but you can find them at Serebii.net -> Game Mechanics -> Natures.

Actually only 60% of my posts are negative.
It wasn't THAT negative, but even a 14 years old like me managed to read and understand it.
Oh well.
Then ask your questions and the people here [mainly the Deo guy] will answer them.

You don't need to understand that math [if you really are 19, that's a surprise] to understand the article.

i think with the ''kicked out'' he means that in your profile there stand that you are 16 but in real life your 14, so you lied with your age. (think thats what he means with it)
