Hi all,

Just wanted to see if anyone could offer any help relating to my PKMN Emerald game cartridge. Sometimes during play I save and then go to load it only to discover that it says something like – “Game has been erased due to damage or corruption, star a new game.” If there is anyway to fix this other than getting a new one please offer some advice.

Thanks

omg that happened to me so i got a replacement and that didnt work either so i got a refund and ive ordered a new 1. the people said that it is most likely a faulty batch. i will ask 4 things
1. did the clock work?
2. did it say the hall of fame data was corrupted wen u try to look at it? (if u got that far)
3. did u buy it on ebay from jeanette15 something?
4. r u using a GBA or a GBASP?

the people also said that it hasnt infected your gameboy so get 1 from a different supplier. if that dont work u souldget a different game boy.

I got a new one and it works just great. I did get it off ebay, it was an american copy and I live in europe but that shouldnt have a made a difference right?
Anywho thanks for your help :)

the people also said that it hasnt infected your gameboy so get 1 from a different supplier. if that dont work u souldget a different game boy. The save file is created within the cartridge and cannot pass data onto the GBA or DS. There is no need to buy a new handheld, the fault lies with the title itself.

it was an american copy and I live in europe but that shouldnt have a made a difference right? Difference is you are unable to trade/battle with European versions Pal & NTSC A/J titles are not compatible with each other and have no functionality.

Just want to ask, did you use any cheat devices such as Game Shark or Action Replay, perhaps hacks to clone pokemon? This issue is really sever and I would like to know the cause. Jan

My Emerald is really weird. One time I turned on the power before I went to bed and it said, "Game has been erased due to damage or corruption" I was so mad that I just put the game away. The next day I tried again and it loaded my old save file just fine.

I think Emerald might have a few glitchy components worked into the hardware...

Have you ever dropped your game? That could be a cause for the corruption.
