Theres is an official FLCL thread to post this on. I'm sure FLCL will be shown again on Adult Swim, but not anytime soon. Info on FLCL is still on the Adult Swim site so Adult Swim owns the rights to it. And besides Adult Swim said themselves that FLCL is one of their all time favorite anime series.

FLCL was crazy, but buying the DVD's and listening to the director's commentary did help lessen the confusion a little.

Most of the strangeness was put in because the director wanted it put in.

Take kanti, he was put in because the director wanted a robot.

Well yeah Adult Swim edits anime. Although if they didn't the anime wouldn't be allowed by the S&P department of CN. There was only three edits on FLCL while it aired on Adult Swim. Haruko's S**t was muted this one episode, the censor on Naota's dad's private area was largened "yes the censor was there in the original", and Time Edit for final episode in which the Credits weren't shown. Appreciate the fact that Adult Swim shows anime series that would NEVER air on Prime Time here in the states.

thats excactly why people liked FLCL so much. I dont think any of the episodes were lame. And 6 episodes seemed like a perfect ammount for this story. Though also remember that FLCL was never put on Japan Television, it was strictly a OVA, so it can not make sense and still get away with it, lol... And i agree with you about "ride on shooting star", it was a good ending theme. "The Pillows" are the japanese band that do all of FLCL's
songs. Like "i think i can" and "Ride on shooting star". They have few more songs that are really good as well.

For anyone complaining that FLCL doesn't make sense, I suggest going here (http://www.anre.org/oaf/). Their episode summaries are simply devine, and their forum even better. It's really deep stuff.

On one level, you have the basic story involving robots and aliens; on another, you have some very profound insight about growing up/maturity; and on still another level, you get some fairly cool and very realistic sociopolitical statements based on the relationship America has with other countries, particularly Japan.

Furi Kuri is like Donnie Darko in a way both you have to think so hard to get it or you understand it right off the bat like me ^_^; when I saw Furi Kuri I knew it was something special. Something that could cross boundries of comidical anime and kick monkey balls at the same time. People who complain about stuff like Donnie Darko and Furi Kuri just cant understand it so instead of trying they decide its stupid and only stupid people watch it which angers me so badly I want to eat their arms and sell the digested arm on ebay for radical amounts of money!

Fully agree. I'm sure FLCL is a great anime, and it is certainly unique.. but all the love it gets from anime review sites and anime fans in general just makes me sick, personally. Or jealous, maybe. >.<
Of course, like they say you should never buy into hype for a series, and just judge it on its own merits... yeah. . .

Yes, it's true that it was released on three discs... I've heard from friends, however, that there are lots of really good extras, so they're worth it.

Speaking of FLCL, I started showing it at my school's anime club today. We watched the first two episodes and everyone loved it (even those who thought it was going to be awful!). Everyone was also completely confused and I told them to just not try to figure it out at least until episode six. :D This will be fun.

That OST is news to me. Looks pretty real and it's mentioned on a few other sites if you Google it.

But you can Netflix the DVDs I believe. There are other means of seeing them in English as well, if you resort to those kind of things. The show is definitely worth watching, though the DVDs are a bit overpriced IMO, even with the extras. The OST Vol. 1 Addict is really good and worth it, and only a small handful of the Vol. 2 OST King of Pirates is worth it (like [full] Last Dinosaur) IMO. You should really watch all six episodes if you haven't already.

As for the series itself, I didn't really find it funny, just really intresting. I guess it just that I really didn't get any of it at first. It was the music that got me hooked. Good thing that AS is showing it over again this summer.

Last Dinosaur on OST 1 is just a mini version of the song. There's a complete version on OST 2, or you can find it in the Pillows album, Happy Bivouac.

I was actually able to find OST 3 and it seem to have full versions of all the songs from the series. COME DOWN, Blues Drive Monster, RUNNERS HIGH, and LAST DINOSARU are the best on the record IMHO.

I watched the series a good while ago, and I really liked the craziness of the series, especially the parts when the series into manga form. It also had good comedy in it, & with me being a sucker for comedy, it became an instant favourite.

So this is the show I saw last saturday. I came in semi-late saturday night and saw this show on. Boy did this confuse the hell out of me. I started to pick up plot points and just kinda came to the conclusion that it was a weird show. It made me remember some of the reasons why I stopped watching anime :p

You have to watch it at least 2 to 3 times to actually start grasping the underlying concepts (or just read spoilers on teh intarweb).

Heck, I got a lot more out of it after watching it after, what, a year? and I'd already looked up most of the stuff way before.
