They would have been stuck there and then die because I believe a person cannot stay longer then 1 year in there. (1 earth day)

the limit is twice entering. therfore it doesn't necessarily have a set amount of time spent inside. atmost is 2 years however. and once that passes, you are trapped inside there forever - you dont just die. however you will eventually die because pretty soon your food supply is going to run out and you will starve to death - which I would imagine is pretty painful...

They wouldn't have automatically died, they would simply be stuck in there until they died of starvation or something like that, since it was said that after 2 days, the entrance would seal up, not them being killed. However in the meanwhile the Earth would be in some serious trouble (not that it really mattered at that point since the population was dead anyway.

We can't really know for sure, but I always assumed it was created by one of the Kamisama's and it was pretty much stated that once the entrance disappeared you would be trapped in there forever. But of course that didn't hold true of Super Buu's and SSJ3 Gotenks' power.

my theory -

I've always believed that dimensions exist in different "wavelengths" from the real world. all you need to do to locate another is to find the right wavelength and you can communicate with it. now what if the incredible noise created by super buu, gotenks SSJ3, and super buu 3 was so devistating, that the noise frequencies actualy disrupted the normal flow of things. imagine 3 lines - one normal, another like ocean waves, and another like alternating Vs. normally they flow aside from one another but the noise frequency of the 3 super powers forced one wavelength to colide with another causing them to intertwine. this causes traces of one wavelength to appear in another, thus the "hole" between dimensions. after the noise ends, the two untangle themselves and become seperate again, thus the hole closing at a rapid pace and not just staying there.

keep in mind the idea that sound travels in wavelengths as well - which would mean sound and dimensions could be related somehow. this is, afterall, a theory.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean: would Mystic Gohan have a better time beating Buu then SSJ3 Gotenks would, the answer is yes. If you mean: would Mystic Gohan have an easier time beating Buu if SSJ3 Gotenks is out of the picture, then yes again, since Super Buu wouldn't be able to absorb him and that would mean that Mystic Gohan would still be stronger then Buu. Of course then again Buu would probably manage to absorb Gohan like he did anyway.
