I kinda want to make a Mental Battle Deck with Orochimaru and some snakes but I dont know how that would work. This guys pretty good. He wont die unless you hit him with an outstanding victory.

Orochimaru will probably print better later on... when he's a turn 6 and will remain out on the field.

Use it as a temp. power bomb. Could be that last bit you need for an early win.
Mental+Oro isnt great, since you have Shikamaru even doing better than him, and shika stays on. Mental is based around earth anyways, so Shika over Oro shouldnt be a problem. Maybe Oro would be good for a mirror match, though. Keep him sided for MP?

I dont see how the card is that good to be honest, he only stays on for 1 turn :-/

However, for that one turn he has some of the highest stats in the game and can use most Jutsu cards out there. He'll be better when you can later pull out a Turn 6 version that will remain around and just use this for initial smackage.

Brilliant. And to everyone who thinks this card is bad: Have you forget the pwnage that is Curse Mark Jutsu?

By turn 3 you should have a about 3 ninjas out on the field, when you deploy him you should spread out so you can get the BWards. I think aslong as you have great Jutsus backing you up you can go for a quick top 2.

Right, I'm gunna say this once...
Unless a character DIES or is unimportant and totally vanishes off the face of the series after one appearance, there will be more cards of them.
The cards generally get better over time, NOT WORSE.
This is why Three Dot Mission and Jutsu are more precious than Three Dot Ninjas.

He better, he is too good of a character and a villain to be confined to this very shiny **** stain. If you can not play ANYTHING and still be assured that youre opponent's big guy will be gone next turn, then it must be bad. Just pretty dang bad.

At the beginning of your next turn. (Before you draw)

I agree with you Rakath. Orochimaru is amazing in a deck that can support itself with its lower drops like a fire and water deck or a lightning and water deck. The fire can support itself with Saske for the lower drop and Lightning can support itself with Naruto (Nine Tailed Chalkra). Thats just my opinion.

it is ok to play this card in fire/water, IF you don't play him on turn 3. if fact, is a good ninja if you don't play on turn 3.

yeah it can give u 2 battle reward and block the opponent next attact. but then it goes away and leave ur opponent the advantage because he has one extra ninja then u now. it jus depend on situation. i seen orchi play alot and win and lose

it would be nice if you can prevent deck out with him, but you can't, here's why. orochimaru's effect sents him back before your next draw, so with all those leaf ninja forces out, you'll just end up drawing him and losing at the end your turn. reason for that is that you (and your opponent) check for losing conditions, which are:
1. 10 battle rewards
2. no cards in the deck.
when any of the two condition is met to any player after either player's battle phase, the game automatically ends and that player loses.
Plus there is the Shino's jutsu, and Kiba's mill card in the next set. milling seems playable now, finally.
Orochimaru is a nice way to slow it down though...

Speaking of Mill, Shinos new card goes great with this guy. He goes back, Shino lets you draw him back from the bottom.

well, you need growth, which isn't the easiest thing to have. you have a point there though.

Orochimaru + The End of the Demon = Awesome
Orochimaru + Twin Snake Sacrifice Jutsu = Owned
Orochimaru + The opponent not blocking due to fear of the previous two combos = 2 Free Battle Rewards.

Orochimaru is good for Water. He may not be able to stay out on the field for more than a turn, but for that turn he can own anything.
I can't wait for the new Orochimaru, which won't come out until later. :D

hes bad, period. he may proove to be one turn of stall and 2 BR early game, but in the long run, u suffer from ninja shortage. id say he is good tech against mill tho =).
orochimaru isn't that great because he returns to the deck. however, he does have some pretty guud jutsus relateed to him

orochimaru is good...but im only using one so i can use my broken jutsu's early!

its ok it has potinchal but i think giant snake is better because with orochimaru it goes back into the deck at the end of the turn, but with giant snake he stays in play till death granted he has 2 less combat but in long run its worth it but dont get me wrong orocimaru is an awsome card
Additional Comment:
I dont see how the card is that good to be honest, he only stays on for 1 turn :-/
hes got 6 combat and hes only got an entrance cost of 3 thats why hes so good

Here's the one thing that most people miss, and I found to be very useful with Orochimaru-Sama. If you play him, yea, he goes back to the bottom of the deck at the start of the turn. True. But you play him. Attack, and do at best, 2 Battle Rewards. On your opponent's turn, after they deploy, you hit Disarmamanet. Even if you have more ninjas on the field, you get Orochimaru back, and probably abuse Ebisu's draw effect on the next turn. Then, turn after that, you abuse Orochimaru again. That's how I play him, but the thing is, when I am playing him, he usually comes up late in the game, and just adds to the power. At that time, I usually don't need to bring him back to the deck, cause I win on the turn that I play him. In all 4 times I have deployed him (Cause I just got him recently...) He has only gone to the bottom of the deck once. So it's not that bad. I think that this Orochimaru is a good one, but I think that if I am going to be running 3 Orochimaru, it will be 2 of these, and one Immortal. Then again, I think I might run one of these, and 2 Immortal, but I think 2 Immortal is overkill.

Orochimaru is actually pretty good. Yea he goes back to your deck at the end of your turn but hes still has good stats for a turn 3 drop. He good for offense and defense. I think he works best with Wind Style: great breakthrough if u use that for defense. All n All hes worth play in any deck with no hand cost and all.

Orochimaru is alright. Not the best card, but somethign that people ar egonna run.
It's not an anti-deck out card though. Dunno why people are claiming it is. But for a turn 3 drop, tis not bad.

Actually orochimaru is an anti-deck out card because it goes to the bottom of your deck before you draw :)
MegamanEXE
01-01-2007, 11:51 AM
But you lose the game when your deck is empty at the end of your turn, not when you need to draw and have no deck. I guess if you have 2 orochimaru and nether of them are dead or battle rewards it is anti deck out.

Orochimaru.. He's got a wide fan-base and is a pretty cool villain in the Naruto anime. But does his card-counterpart give him justice?
I'd have to say no. Sure, he's a good card to play on turn 3 (or turn 2 with Konohamaru in play). But if your playing against anyone smarter than a flower-pot they'll just let the damage through or chump block with an injured ninja or something useless (such as a used Ebisu, or an injured Naruto [NTC] with a small hand). And then on your opponents next turn, Mr. "I'm a big threat" goes away for a very long time.
Pros -
*He's a power-house on turn 3.
*He's Sannin, so he can use Vortex, Trigram and what not..
*He's got moderate Mental power.
*Will more than likely give you 2 Battle Rewards when you attack.
Cons -
*He's easly chump-blocked, makeing him a waste of time.
*He returns to the bottom of your deck a turn after you play him.
*He really requires other cards to make him good (Such as Disarmament..). Which is never a good thing.
*If you wait to play him late game, he doesn't add much of anything to your teams (Most everything else will have 5-6 power already..).
So he's a good card, but impracticle.
Orochimaru [Immortal] is a much better choice. Still not to good of a card, but a better choice.

What are my thoughts? I think that he's a pretty expensive for a card that's kinda useless in game and is more of a status symbol than anything -- everywhere I look, price tags of $30 or more? Good grief.
