Description: Hatake Kakashi is one of Konoha's top ninjas, graduating from the Ninja Academy at the age of 5 and becoming a Chuunin at the age of six. To aid this ninja, Kakashi has mysteriously obtained the Sharingan eye, and can use it at a very high standard. He is feared throughout Konoha and other Countries, because he has memorized over 1000 jutsus with his Sharingan. His hobby is to read Lover's Paradise by Jiraya. Kakashi is an unusually strict sensei. He has failed every team before Naruto's team, because they had followed his rules as opposed to working as a team. He emphasizes that the main point of being a ninja is teamwork, that most missions are carried out with teams, and many would fail if the teammates were divided.

This deep sense of comradery has been ingrained in Kakashi through a series of devastating events during his youth. As a child, his father was a legend in Konoha known as White Fang, who's power equalled that of a Sannin. However, after one failed mission, he was forced to commit sepokku. The mission had failed because he decided to save his teamates instead of actually completing the mission.

After this event, Hatake Kakashi was bent up on following every ninja rule precisely, showing no emotion and being cold towards his teammates. That is, until one mission with the Fourth Hokage, Rin, and Uchiha Obito, his friend Obito had been crushed by a boulder during battle. The reason Obito was in peril was because Kakashi at first, decided to finish the mission instead of rescue their third teammate Rin. Kakashi, now being a Jonin, had the higher ranking than Obito and Rin, but Obito rebelled and went to save Rin anyways. Kakashi eventually gave in, and went to save Obito, but his intervention was somewhat late.

After that experience, where his obsession with shinobi rules caused him to be blinded from his teammates, and even caused one of them to be crushed, he turned over a new leaf, and became the teamwork driven Kakashi with a warm heart we've all come to know and love.

Description:With the Nine Tailed Demon, Kyuubi sealed within him by the 4th Hokage/Yondaime Hokage in a desperate attempt to save the village, Naruto was always resented and feared by many. He didn’t understand the feeling of what love was and thus acted out in a plea to be acknowledged by destroying property, painting on the Hokage mountain (official name?), and stealing. It wasn’t until Naruto’s Ninja Academy sensei; Iruka Umino showed him compassion and that someone actually cared for him, that he began to see the error of acting the way he did.

Previously failing the academy’s graduation exam, Naruto was passed by showing that he was able to learn the forbidden Shadow Clone (Kage Bunshin) jutsu in an incredibly short amount of time. Considering the simple Clone (Bunshin) jutsu was Naruto’s poorest technique.

After graduating from the academy and becoming part of team #7, lead by Kakashi Hatake, Naruto has become somewhat of a rival with one of his teammates, Sasuke Uchiha. They constantly are trying to out do each other in training and fighting. Naruto wishes to prove that he can become the next Hokage and uses Sasuke as a way to push himself harder.

Description:Born of the Uchiha name, Sasuke Uchiha is one of the two lone survivors of what was at one time considered to be the most powerful and influential clans in Konoha (Hidden Leaf) village. Around the age of 8, Sasuke’s older brother, Itachi (13) decided he would test his power by violently and mercilessly slaying all of his friends, family, and fellow Uchiha ninjas. It is unknown why Itachi left Sasuke alive, however it is speculated by Sasuke himself that Itachi wishes for his brother to become stronger by living everyday to destroy Itachi. Sasuke has called himself an avenger, stating that nothing is more important to him than becoming stronger than his brother and killing him, driving himself to train harder and longer every day. He has also become a sort of rival to Naruto Uzumaki with this fact, having Naruto constantly trying to out do Sasuke in training.

Rock specializes in Hard Fist of Taijutsu, which is very powerful and can do a lot of damage. In the Chuunin exams, he used one of the forbidden techniques taught to him by Gai. However, in the end, Rock was still defeated by Gaara, and suffered a severed injury. Now, Rock still trains hard even though Tsunade-sama warned him that he would die if he did too much training.

Description:Neji was considered one of the most talented and strongest Genin who attended the Chuunin exam, the year of the Sound and Sand’s invasion, and is one of the many Hyuga family members who can use the Byakugan and Gentle Fist Taijutsu fighting style. However, due to being born in the branch house of the Hyuga Clan, Neji may never become the clan’s leader, nor would he normally be allowed to learn the clan’s more secret techniques. Although seeing as Neji is extremely talented in observing techniques, he was able to learn most of them by simply practicing.

Even though Neji is of the branch house and is supposed to respect and honor the main house, he resents them much like his father did. When Neji faces Hinata, a main house family member, in the Chuunin exam preliminaries, he talks about how she is spoiled and mentally attacks her with explanations on how she is a harmony-seeker and wishes nothing more than to be somewhere other than in the exams. He say’s “Fate and destiny cannot be changed. Losers will always be just that; Losers.”

After his fight with Naruto Uzumaki in the third Chuunin exam main event, Neji realizes his views may have been skewed and inappropriate. It is evident that he becomes generally nicer to his companions and even to the main house family members there after.

This man, the opposite of Gai, believes that if you watch your progress, you will improve by alot. He uses Knuckle Busters, which are blades attached to the owner's hand. Asuma is feared widely of these blades because he can make the blades longer with Chakra.

Description: A rival as well as a friend to Sakura, Ino also is a strong ninja. She has the secret technique from the family, in which she can take control of the body of the enemy, then she can do many things. However, the damage inflicted to the controlled body will be also done to Ino. When Ino and Sakura were young, they made a vow to battle each other to see which was the better ninja. In the Chuunin exams, it was set perfectly so Sakura and Ino would battle. In the end it was a perfect draw.

They have many combos with dogs, as if the dogs were fighting partners. His fighting speed is amazingly fast, but he is not very clever. Kiba was very happy when Naruto was chosen as his fighting partner, because back then, Naruto got the worst grades in Ninja Academy. However, Kiba was beaten by Naruto in the Chuunin Exams.

Description: This silent man is one of the Aburame family, which means he can control the destruction bugs. The bugs would get to feed on the host's chakra, while the host can use the bugs for battle. Much is unknown about him as he very rarely talks. He has defeated Zack in the Chuunin exam, so many guess he is very powerful. Shino also is quite intelligent and gets most of his missions sucessfully completed.

Description:Hyuuga Hinata is the heir to the main family of the Hyuuga Clan. When she turned three years old her cousin Neji had a cursed seal placed on his forehead. After the seal was placed upon Neji, he grew to resent the main family for that and for what he saw was the unjustified killing of his father by the main family. Neji directed his hatred for the main family against his cousin Hinata. In the third round preliminary matches of the Chuunin Exam, Hinata and Neji were matched against each other. Utilizing the Hyuuga Clan's gentle fist style, Neji and Hinata began to trade blows. Neji's level of skill utilizing the Byakugan bloodline ability outmatched Hinata's and she became injured.

Thinking back to how she had seen Naruto refuse to give up, Hinata tried to become a stronger willed person and leave some of her timidness behind. Saying she wouldn't go back on her words and give up, Hinata began to trade blows with Neji again. Though Neji continued to injure Hinata, she refused to give up. This angered Neji to the point where he was going to strike a killing blow against her. Before he could do so, the Jounin masters watching the match jumped in to stop him. Hinata then collapsed due to the internal injuries she was suffering. Medical attendants took Hinata away but from that point on she was a changed person.

Before the start of the third test of the Chuunin Exam, Hinata had gone to the Genin survival training area. While there Naruto also showed up much to her surprise. Naruto told her he was experiencing some doubts about his abilities. Hinata took the opportunity to tell Naruto to not doubt himself. She let him know she was inspired by his determination and sees herself as more assertive and self-assured than she has been in the past. Hearing her reassuring words, Naruto felt better about his chances and told Hinata to come see his match where he would beat Neji. Then Naruto told Hinata that he thought Hinata was a dark and timid person, but he said he was wrong. Naruto then told her something that stunned and flattered her, he liked people like her. Blushing, Hinata could only stand in shocked surprise as the boy she liked expressed feelings for liking people of her type.

As the years passed, Hinata began to further push her limits and abilities and attained the rank of Chuunin. When Naruto finally returned to the village, she was embarrassed and stunned. Though she had grown in a lot of ways, her bashful crush on Naruto remained.

Description: This hokage was one of the strongest Hokages in the history of Konoha. Taught by the first and second Hokage, Sarutobi has memorized over 1000 skills. That has enabled him to become the Hokage. Also, when he was a jounnin, he also led a team of 3 that consisted of the Legendary Sennin (Tsunade, Jiraya, and Orichimaru). However, Orichimaru escaped from Konoha because of his thirst for power, and returned during the Chuunin Exam to face his master, Sarutobi. Sarutobi was killed eventually, but he sealed Orichimaru's hands.

Description:Konohamaru is the grandson of the Third Hokage and is a Ninja Academy student. Though Konohamaru calls Naruto his rival, they are good friends and they often play ninja together. Konohamaru leads the "Konohamaru Corps," a child's playgroup consisting of Konohamaru, Moegi and Udon.

Konohamaru's relationship is Sarutobi Asuma is unknown. He could be Asuma's son or his nephew. Konohamaru and his friends Udon and Moegi became Genin during the two and half year timeskip in the series. They served as a team under the leadership of Konohamaru's former tutor Ebisu.

Description:At the age of ten the young man who would become Fourth Hokage graduated from the Academy. Shortly afterwards he became the student of Jiraiya alongside two fellow team members. Under the Ero-Sennin he would greatly increase his skills and impress Jiraiya with his tenacity. Jiraiya would select the boy to carry on the heritage of frog summoning. His skills would further grow with the development of Rasengan and Hiraishin. The latter technique would grant him the nickname "Konoha's Yellow Flash" because of the way he and his bright yellow hair would flicker out of existence to appear elsewhere.

As the years passed he became Chuunin and later Jounin. As a Jounin he became sensei of the team of Hatake Kakashi, Rin and Uchiha Obito. As a gift for Kakashi's advancement to Jounin, he gave his him a unique kunai marked with one of the Hiraishin transportation markers. Later in one particular battle, this technique allowed four Leaf ninjas to throw teleportation kunai at 50 Rock-Nin. Using the transportation technique, he was able to move from kunai to kunai while they were in the air, to wipe out all 50 with little trouble. After this battle, his student Rin used Kakashi's kunai to bring the Fourth Hokage to her location to protect her and an unconscious Kakashi from Rock ninjas. Unfortunately by the time he arrived Uchiha Obito was already dead, he managed to save Kakashi and Rin though. They would later go on to fulfill their mission and help repel the Rock invasion.

In the months to come he would be selected by Sandaime Hokage to follow him as village leader. His first choice Orochimaru failed to live up to his expectations. The village was in very good hands however. Yondaime's love of his friends and the village would inspire all those around him. He then made the ultimate sacrifice when the Kyuubi came calling. Using one final technique he had developed, the sacrificial Shiki Fuujin, he managed to stop the beast and seal its spirit in the body of the newborn baby Naruto. Though this resulted in Yondaime's death, he managed to save the village.

Years later during the invasion of Leaf by Sand and Sound, Orochimaru attempted to use the forbidden jutsu Edo Tensei to bring the bodies of the previous Hokage's back to fight for him. The coffin of the Fourth Hokage was apparently close to emerging when the Third Hokage managed to stop its arrival. Yondaime could continue to rest in peace and his heritage could continue to protect the village.

Description:The First Hokage helped found the village of Leaf with the help of his younger brother the Second Hokage.
The First Hokage was the grandfather of the Sannin Tsunade. He was unique in his ability to use Mokuton (Tree Element) techniques. Shodai was also said to be able to control the Bijuu (tailed beasts) to his will. This power was coveted by Orochimaru, and he sought out Shodai's tissue and infused his genes into the bodies of 60 children. All but one of the children died. The survivor would go on to become a skilled ANBU code-named "Yamato." He would inherit Shodai's ability to control Mokuton and the Bijuu.

Later during the invasion of Leaf by Sand and Sound, Orochimaru used the forbidden jutsu Edo Tensei to bring the First Hokage back from the dead to fight for him. The Third Hokage had to utilize the Fourth Hokage's Shiki Fuujin technique to remove the First's soul and send him back to the beyond.

Description:The Second Hokage helped found the village of Leaf with the help of his older brother the First Hokage. After the death of his brother he inherited the Hokage title and developed the infrastructure of the village.

During his tenure as Hokage, Nidaime used a sword in battle called the "Raijin" sword. The sword emitted a short blade made of a hard lightning-like material. After his death the sword would remain in the village until Leaf ninja Aoi betrayed the village and had it stolen and delivered to Hidden Rain as a gift. Aoi would use the Raijin in battle, and the blade eventually broke after the combined effects of a Chidori and Rasengan. It is unknown what happened to his sword after Aoi's defeat.

During the invasion of Leaf by Sand and Sound, Orochimaru used the forbidden jutsu Edo Tensei to bring the Second Hokage back from the dead to fight for him. The Third Hokage had to utilize the Fourth Hokage's Shiki Fuujin technique to remove the Second's soul and send him back to the beyond.

Maybe it would be best to go by Heroes and Villians, then by appearance (by anime) and follow by the village each one comes from.

Also, it would be a good idea to list ALL of the jutsus (Tai, Nin, Gen, Bloodline, and Seal Types...I think that's all of them) each character knows, so that we can be as detailed as possible and give wikipedia a run for it's money, despite it being user created. :p

Another good idea would be to include all forms of jutsu names (English, Japanese, and otherwise) so people are able to use what words they feel comfortable using, because I know some people call the Shadow Clones by Kage Bunshin and other jutsus respectively.

Plus, I see you have Gaara as Kazekage, Kankuro as Jonin and so on. I think it would be wise to start with history and move up to the II ARC.

However, he escaped from Konoha and now serves Orichimaru in his experiments. There is so much that hint's to this character's power. He has escaped and fully recovered from being hit by Naruto's Rasengan, which just shows his power. Also, he has failed the Chuunin exams six times in a row, just to collect data. However, he is so strong, that his strength is comparable to Kakashi's.

Description:Akadou Yoroi has the ability to leach the chakra out of an opponent by placing his hand near their body. When Yoroi and his team make it to the third round preliminaries, it is revealed he and his team are actually Hidden Sound spies acting under the direction of Orochimaru. Yoroi is matched against Sasuke and manages to surprise Sasuke with his unique powers. However Sasuke is able to make a come back and defeat Yoroi with his new Lion Combo. He was then taken away by the medical team.

Shortly afterwards both Yoroi and his teammate Misumi left the Fire Country behind and headed south for the Sea Country to assist Orochimaru's former scientist Amachi. There the two former Sound spies began attacking gold boats destined for the Water Country. In the guise of a dangerous sea monster, the two ninja were able to steal the gold. When ninja from Konoha were sent to investigate, Yoroi and Misumi did battle with them. Yoroi squared off against Shino several times, with the bug user finally defeating Yoroi in the end. The two did battle on the ocean and Shino's bugs sucked out Yoroi's chakra. Yoroi then sunk into the depths below.


Tsurgi Misumi

Description:Tsurugi Misumi subjected his body to surgery to grant him the ability to manipulate his body. He can pop his bones out of their sockets and use his chakra to move his soft muscle tissue. When Misumi and his team make it to the third round preliminaries, it is revealed he and his team are actually Hidden Sound spies acting under the direction of Orochimaru. Misumi is matched against Kankurou from Hidden Sand. He uses his unique abilites to quickly surprise Kankurou, but Kankorou had surprises of his own. The body Misumi had wrapped himself around was actually Kankurou's puppet Karasu. Karasu surprised Misumi and quickly wrapped itself around him. Kankurou then used Karasu to squeeze and injure Misumi. He was then taken away by the medical team.

Shortly afterwards both Misumi and his teammate Yoroi left the Fire Country behind and headed south for the Sea Country to assist Orochimaru's former scientist Amachi. There the two former Sound spies began attacking gold boats destined for the Water Country. In the guise of a dangerous sea monster, the two ninja were able to steal the gold. When ninja from Konoha were sent to investigate, Yoroi and Misumi did battle with them. Misumi moved to attack the ninja in one of Orochimaru's former mountain labs. As the structure began to collapse raining rock from above, Ino used her mind control jutsu to force Misumi to tie his arms to pillars inside the compound. The Konoha ninja fled, leaving Misumi behind to be crushed in the rubble.

Description:Dosu and his team were ordered to find and kill Uchiha Sasuke. Unfortunately Orochimaru merely used the team as fodder to test Sasuke's powers after he placed a cursed seal on him. He turned his attention to Sasuke, thinking if he could kill him, then he may be able to ruin what plans Orochimaru held.

Dosu then made it past his third round preliminary match against Akimichi Chouji. When the third round brackets were announced, he saw that Sasuke was paired against Gaara of the Sand. Eager to cut down on the competition so he could face Sasuke faster, Dosu confronted Gaara late one night. Unfortunately for Dosu, Shukaku, the spirit within Gaara awoke easily due to the full moon. The sand incarnation attacked Dosu and unmercifully killed him.

Description:Zaku and his team were ordered to find and kill Uchiha Sasuke. Unfortunately Orochimaru merely used the team as fodder to test Sasuke's powers after he placed a cursed seal on him. When Zaku and his team began to harass Sakura in the Forest of Death, the newly cursed sealed Sasuke awoke from his tortured sleep and fought Zaku. Sasuke experienced his first taste of the Level 1 cursed seal power and quickly surprised Zaku. He grabbed Zaku from behind and severly injured his arms. Seeing that Sasuke was dangerous and that Orochimaru had used them, the Sound Genin quickly fled.

Zaku and his team did make it to the third round preliminaries, but he lost to Shino. Unfortunately for Zaku, Shino's destruction bugs fed on chakra, and managed to plug the air holes Zaku had in his arms. This caused the pressured air to be unable to escape, resulting in the destruction of his arms.

Later, when Orochimaru used his forbidden jutsu Edo Tensei, he needed a sacrificial body to hold the soul of one of the dead Hokage. Unfortunately for Zaku, Orochimaru used him one last time and sacrificed him to help complete the jutsu.

Description:During the invasion of Leaf Village by Sand and Sound, Jiroubou served as one of the corners of the barrier which contained the battle between Orochimaru and the Third Hokage. Later when the Four Sounds were going to deliver Uchiha Sasuke to Orochimaru, the five Leaf Genin led by Shikamaru followed in pursuit.

Jiroubou managed to entrap the group in a mud dome prison. He stayed behind to feed off the chakra of the Genin, while his teammates continued on. When they managed to escape, Akimichi Chouji stayed behind to battle Jiroubou as the rest chased after Kidoumaru, Tayuya and Sakon. It was then revealed that like Sasuke, Jiroubou had been given a cursed seal by Orochimaru. Utilizing special Akimichi clan soldier pills, Chouji was able to stand on somewhat equal ground with the powerful Jiroubou. When Chouji was able to use his massive multi-size jutsu, Jiroubou was forced to use his curse seal level two form. Though this gave Jiroubou ten times the strength, Chouji was able to ingest the last of three special soldier pills and gain enough power to strike Jiroubou with enough force to apparently kill him.

Kidoumaru stayed behind to battle Hyuuga Neji as Tayuya and Sakon continued on. It was then revealed that like Sasuke, Kidoumaru had been given a cursed seal by Orochimaru. Due to Neji's superior defense Kidoumaru had to utilize his cursed seal level 2 form. In this form a third eye opens on his forehead. With the third eye he attains great accuracy when using his kumo-nenkin bow and arrow. In the end even this was not enough. Barely alive Neji was able strike one final blow to apparently kill Kidoumaru.

Description: During the invasion of Leaf Village by Sand and Sound, Tayuya served as one of the corners of the barrier which contained the battle between Orochimaru and the Third Hokage. Later when the Four Sounds were going to deliver Uchiha Sasuke to Orochimaru, the five Leaf Genin led by Shikamaru followed in pursuit. After Jiroubou and Kidoumaru stayed behind to fight Neji and Choji, Tayuya was forced to battle Nara Shikamaru. It was then revealed that she had been granted a cursed seal by Orochimaru.

Tayuya does not battle her opponents directly, she actually utilizes a flute which allows her to control oni she summons. This flute also allows her to cast special illusion techniques. Using his battle wits, Shikamaru was able to bind Tayuya with his shadow. Tayuya was about to overcome the bind with her powerful curse seal level 2 chakra, but at the last moment, Temari from Hidden Sand appeared and blasted Tayuya away, slicing her flute in two. Tayuya did not apparently survive the attack.

The incarnation of Sound ninja Sakon that first appears in the series is actually a combination of two individuals, the brothers Sakon and Ukon. Together Ukon shares the body of Sakon, at any point Ukon can split off his brother and become his own individual. When Ukon goes to his level 2 cursed seal form, his can manipulate his body down to the molecular level and insert himself into an opponent. He uses this cell form as an assassination technique to kill the person from within their own body.

When the Four Sounds were going to deliver Sasuke to Orochimaru, the five Leaf Genin led by Shikamaru followed in pursuit. Sakon and Ukon individually fought against Kiba and Akamaru, he had seriously injured Kiba and was going for the kill when Kankurou of Hidden Sand showed up to lend Kiba support. Kankurou used Karasu and his new puppet Kuroari to capture and apparently kill the combined Sakon and Ukon.

Description:At some point in the past Kimimaro's body was badly damaged. Orochimaru had looked to Kimimaro as a potential body to act as his new vessel. Kimimaro was very appealing in this manner because of his bloodline ability to manipulate the bones in his body. Unfortunately his health problems forced him to remain unused. When Uchiha Sasuke was being brought to Orochimaru, Kabuto worked on Kimimaro so he could help them in their cause. Through sheer force of will Kimimaro was able to recover himself enough to do Orochimaru's bidding once again.

When he was able to move again, Kimimaro left Orochimaru's compound to face Uzumaki Naruto. Naruto used his Tajuu Kage Bunshin technique but Kimimaro was able to destroy all of the clones. The situation looked dire but Rock Lee appeared to lend assistance. Naruto left the fight behind as Lee tried to fight the Sound ninja. Using his bone spikes Kimimaro was getting the upper hand until Gaara of the Sand arrived to help the Leaf ninja. Gaara and his siblings had been sent by the Fifth Hokage to help. Using his sand techniques Gaara was able to force Kimimaro to use his highest cursed seal form and use his highest Dance technique. When Gaara seemingly killed Kimimaro he and Lee let down their guard. Appearing from behind them Kimimaro was within striking distance to kill the two ninja, however he had pushed his body too far and it finally gave out, ending his life.

Description: Orochimaru is perhaps the most famous and infamous person to ever inhabit Konoha. Trained by the Third Hokage, referred to by many as the God of Shinobi in his prime, he shares the group recognition with Tsunade and Jiraiya as one of the "Legendary Three" (Sannin). It is possible that he may have even been his tutor’s favourite from the way that Jiraiya was asked to be more like him. However, his legacy would be smeared in blood before he ever surpassed his master.

Morino Ibiki, the sadistic and iron-gutted sadist confessed that Orochimaru gave him the creeps, something Ibiki was used to doing himself. Ibiki described him as though he was not human, just something evil that had a humanoid shape. With his dead-white skin, prehensile, long tongue and reptilian eyes, it’s easy to understand why even Ibiki would be intimidated. However, unfortunately for many, Orochimaru’s appearance was not the most horrible thing about him. Orochimaru was a perfectionist and showed unequalled devotion to learning and collecting techniques, a trait he almost passed onto his sole student, Mitarashi Anko, teaching her a number of forbidden techniques and passing on his skills related to snakes. He also branded her with something that would become his signature later, a “curse seal”. Appearing as an inky marking on the body of the person he gave it to, they would go into a coma-like state, one that had a 1/10 survival rate. Anko survived, but later realised that the man she hero-worshipped was a manipulator and she was just his guinea pig.

In his later years, Orochimaru began to realise that no matter how good a ninja was, age and death would always overcome him. Seeing his tutor grow old and no longer shine as he once did, he committed a sin that would forever taint him. Already, his immoral ideals had spooked enough people, probably including the advisory council, into rejecting him for the position of Fourth Hokage. It was then that Orochimaru went to work on something truly nihilistic. Gathering living human subjects for experimentation, Orochimaru plucked victims from Chuunin, Jounin and even the ANBU. One such experiment involved Orochimaru infusing the genes of Shodai Hokage into 60 children. Shodai was unique in his ability to control the tailed demons at his will and also his ability to use Mokuton techniques. Though he would not be around to see it, 59 of the children soon died. One lived and grew up to be known as the elite ANBU "Yamato". Orochimaru's experiments would prove successful, with Yamato able to use Shodai's abilities as his own.

Eventually, the Third Hokage penetrated his booby-trapped lair and he was caught red-handed in a laboratory lined with the mutilated remains of the abducted hanging from chains on the walls. As he was questioned, he revealed his epiphany. He was working on something that would allow him to cheat death and gradually become a master of all techniques, gaining the knowledge that would grant him a title beyond even his tutor’s – the ultimate being. However, instead of being punished, he took advantage of the compassion that his old teacher was known for and fled with his life. As he fled, Jiraiya took chase. Jiraiya pleaded for him to return, but Orochimaru mocked his feelings and his failure to see the truth of his actions. The two battled and Orochimaru fled for good. Jiraiya would thereafter give up on trying to save Orochimaru.

Orochimaru’s activities around this point become muddy. It is known for sure that he was a member of the criminal organisation Akatsuki. However, he left at some point due to Uchiha Itachi. Orochimaru, at some time, decided a major factor in his goal to know every technique would be the Sharingan eye, enabling him to copy what he saw. However, Itachi would not give up his eyes so easily and Orochimaru proclaimed that he feared Itachi, presumably after seeing the Mangekyou Sharingan in action and deciding that trying to take Itachi’s eyes would be too risky. Orochimaru left Akatsuki, fully aware of their plans and with bad blood between them.

It is known that after leaving, Orochimaru completed half his goal: He gained immortality. By using a technique where he caused his soul to forever remain in the mortal world and transferred his mind into the bodies of victims, he could never pass on. Orochimaru proved it true as he took a female’s body and inhabited it for a number of years, although he gradually managed to reshape it to a certain degree to resemble his old one. The corpse of the old Orochimaru was probably disposed of, but a memento of his past remains in the form of his forearm and hand mounted onto a base like a trophy, with the Akatsuki ring he once wore still sitting on the decaying middle finger.

Orochimaru then decided upon his next plan of action, with both of his next accomplishments being in his old village. Knowing that Itachi left one other of the clan alive, Orochimaru set his sights on Uchiha Sasuke among other skilled ninja. Travelling around the world as a sage offering to help those lost and vulnerable, his real purpose was to collect talented young ninja as either servants or for the “luckiest”, his next body. His managed to sway many to his side, including the allegiance of a Leaf ninja, Yakushi Kabuto, who would become his spy. His other converts included the last of the brutal Kaguya clan, Kimimaro and the orphan Zaku Abumi. Orochimaru’s charisma and skill as a manipulator grew to the extent that he held influence over many clans as their saviour, even allowing him to persuade the Feudal Lord of the Rice Field country to allow him to found and establish a hidden village there for the purpose of training ninja and strengthening the country. Of course, none of Orochimaru’s offers were benevolent, only self-serving. Regardless, the village of Hidden Sound came to be.

It was the year that Uchiha Sasuke attempted to become a Chuunin that Orochimaru made his move, sneaking into the exam in disguise – initially as the tutor of three Sound Genin participating in the exam, next as a participant from Grass after literally melting the face from his skull and wearing it as a mask. Under the Grass ninja disguise, he first engaged Sasuke in single combat to test him, and then gave him the curse seal. At the same time, he gave his trio of subordinates the command to terminate Sasuke. It was only thanks to Sakura that Sasuke lived long enough to wake up. The order was really to place Sasuke under as much stress as possible, forcing him to rely on the curse seal, as use of it over time would slowly divert Sasuke’s will into serving him. Orochimaru also ran into Anko during his travels, humiliating her by almost allowing her to kill herself and him at the same time while bringing up their past relation. He also later came to mock Kakashi’s efforts in suppressing the seal, telling him Sasuke would remove the barriers himself and come to Orochimaru of his own will.

Orochimaru’s next move was personal. In the finals of the Chuunin exam, the Kazekage, a guest spectator, suddenly held the Third Hokage hostage and from nowhere, scores of Sound and Sand ninja flooded the stadium. It was revealed that both villages were working co-operatively to wage war on Leaf. However, the Kazekage addressed him by his real name – Sarutobi. Instantly, he recognised his attacker, who tore off the Kazekage’s robes and engaged his former mentor, pulling some of his most inhuman acts yet. Pulling the souls of the First and Second Hokage from the afterlife, he fixed them into the bodies of his teenage subordinates – who had been prepared for sacrifice through live burial in ash and dirt, finally using a charm to turn their minds into ferocious killing machines. Though a totally heartless act, Orochimaru did show an instance of emotion through a single question.

However, even though the battle was in Orochimaru’s favour, using his own reptilian sword, the combined Hokage slaves and his personal bodyguards forming a barrier, his defeat came when Sarutobi, knowing he would die, performed a suicidal technique that cost him his soul. Summoning the death god itself, Sarutobi instructed it to rip out and consume the souls of Orochimaru’s slaves, then Orochimaru’s soul. However, he was too close to death, especially with Orochimaru’s sword in his back, to complete the task. Choosing the next best thing and possibly something worse than death for Orochimaru, the death god took away the portions of Orochimaru’s soul that connected to his arms, which fell limp and impotent and rendered him unable to even make a hand seal. The irony of knowing so many techniques and not being able to utilise them hit Orochimaru as Sarutobi died in front of him, seeing not the furious abomination that almost murdered him as he closed his eyes, but the confident student he admired and raised. Orochimaru and his forces were driven away to their village, also cutting off his alliance with Sand as the Kazekage’s corpse was found, alerting Sand that he was not co-operating with Orochimaru and instead, the Kazekage that ordered the strike on Leaf was Orochimaru himself.

For a while, Orochimaru’s activity was limited. In constant agony from his incapacitated arms, Orochimaru decided to seek out the legendary medical specialist, his former partner, Tsunade. Coincidentally, Jiraiya had also decided to look for her as a replacement for the Third Hokage. It was Orochimaru who got to her first, proposing a deal with her. Knowing her history, he would use his resurrection technique, as he did with the former Hokage brothers, to bring back Tsunade’s younger brother, Nawaki and her lover, Dan, who had both been killed when she was younger. Leaving her a week to decide, Orochimaru was well prepared for her, knowing of her phobia of blood and preying on her sentimentality, saying he could only perform the resurrection if his hands were healed.

A week passed and at their meeting point, Orochimaru raised his hands to her. However, Kabuto stopped her at the last minute, recognising that Tsunade was about to assassinate Orochimaru instead of healing. The two fled as Tsunade chased them, resulting in Kabuto exploiting her phobia and taking her on in combat, being a medical specialist himself although not quite on her level. Jiraiya arrived to even the odds, slowing Orochimaru down a lot while Naruto took on Kabuto. Orochimaru was stunned by the boy’s capabilities, deciding his #1 priority, even over dealing with Tsunade and Jiraiya, was to kill Naruto before the Akatsuki Organisation abducted him. Tsunade used herself as a human shield, vowing to protect the boy. Orochimaru then decided to hold her to her position and slashed her up with his sword in his mouth, giving her fatal injuries. Tsunade, however, also intended to stick to her word and on that decision, accepted the position of Fifth Hokage, using a technique to heal herself even though it shortened her lifespan. Fighting back, the legendary three pulled out their trump cards, summoning the masters of all animals. Orochimaru’s gigantic anaconda, Manda, held off both Jiraiya’s toad, Gamabunta and Tsunade’s slug, Katsuyu on his own and was about to bite into Gamabunta when Tsunade herself drove Gamabunta’s huge dagger into Manda’s mouth. With nothing to be achieved, Orochimaru once again retreated, taunting that there was still another way to heal his arms and that he was immortal.

Orochimaru then sent his personal bodyguards, The Sound Four, to sneak into Leaf with an invitation for Sasuke, who had suffered numerous losses. Each member of the group bore a Curse Seal, just like Sasuke and once they engaged him, they told him the seal had a second stage of release that they would help him acquire – IF he left Leaf behind and joined Orochimaru. However, while the temptation occurred, Orochimaru’s arms were now putting him through unbearable torture. Cracked, bleeding and crumbling away, Orochimaru needed a new body and couldn’t wait. Kabuto arranged for a royal rumble among selected prisoners of Orochimaru’s, telling them to fight to the death until one remained. Orochimaru approached the winner and transferred his mind into the entranced ninja, ending his agony at a price – the transfer has a three-year “recharge” period. When his bodyguards took too long, he sent out a solitary ninja as reinforcement – stricken by illness and almost crippled, Kimimaro Kaguya, the leader of the Sound Four (which was previously the Sound Five before his sickness). Moving by means he described more or less as mind over matter, Kimimaro held back the forces of Leaf sent to bring Sasuke back long enough for Sasuke to adapt to the seal and run to Orochimaru of his own (if somewhat warped) will. Although his bodyguards all perished in the mission, Orochimaru’s face lit up as his new body, bearing a fully released curse seal and the Sharingan, walked down the halls of his lair. In three years, his ambition would finally be realised…

In the intervening years Orochimaru would escape the eye of Akatsuki and move bases. He, Kabuto and Sasuke would move every week to a new location, and only stay at that location for three days. Akatsuki member Sasori had utilized a memory block jutsu to place his subordinates in different ninja villages as a means to gather information and provide sabotage. One such memory block had been placed on Kabuto approximately five years earlier in the hopes of finding more information on Orochimaru's body transfer jutsu. Sasori had arranged to meet with Kabuto to gain updated information on Orochimaru. Sasori fell in battle before the meeting but Leaf ninja impersonated his Hiruko puppet form in the hopes of attaining the information meant for him. When Kabuto met the Leaf ninja Yamato and his team of Naruto, Sakura and Sai, he acted as Sasori's faithful servant. When Orochimaru appeared Kabuto jumped to Sasori's side but quickly revealed himself by cutting off Hiruko’s head. Orochimaru and Kabuto, who had actually had the memory block removed years earlier by Orochimaru, hoped to actually kill Sasori but now they were pitted against Naruto and the other Leaf ninja.

Utilizing her wind techniques, Temari is able to totally nullify Tenten's ranged weapon attacks. In the third test Temari is placed against Nara Shikamaru. When Shikamaru utilized his strategic genius, she was captured by his shadow bind jutsu. Though she thought she was going to lose, Shikamaru gave up because he was almost out of chakra. Later during the invasion of Leaf by Sand and Sound, Temari and her siblings undertook their mission to protect Gaara as he did his full transformation into the Shukaku demon. Gaara was able to accomplish his task but he was stopped by Uzumaki Naruto. Coming to her exhausted brothers aid, Temari and Kankurou helped their younger brother escape.

Months after the invasion and the surrender of Sand, both Leaf and Sand became allies again. After Uchiha Sasuke left Leaf to seek out Orochimaru, Shikamaru and a Genin team left to retrieve him. When Shikamaru and the Genin were in a dire position facing the Four Sounds, Temari and her siblings arrived out of nowhere to lend support. They had arrived under the direction of the Fifth Hokage Tsunade who had requested assistance from Sand. Temari lended assistance to Shikamaru and defeated the tiring Tayuya with ease. Temari and her siblings then returned to Konoha with the injured Leaf ninja.

After the time skip, Temari advanced in rank to Jounin. During this time she began serving as a liaison to Leaf to help plan the Chuunin Exams. When she learned that her younger brother Gaara had been captured by Akatsuki, she quickly returned home to lend help. She arrived too late and remained behind to guard her village when Naruto and his team began to track down Gaara's abductors. When Kankurou was sufficiently recuperated, she and he alongside numerous other Sand ninja raced to help Gaara. They arrived in time to see Chiyo bring him back to life. She was greatly relieved and later wished the Leaf ninja goodbye when they left Hidden Sand.

Description:Kankurou is the son of the Kazekage. In the third preliminary matches of the Chuunin Exam, Kankurou is placed against Sound spy Tsurugu Misumi. Utilizing his puppet Karasu, Kankurou is able to surprise Misumi by having Karasu wrap his arms around the Sound spy and crush him. In the third test Kankurou is placed against Aburame Shino. When it was time for his match, Kankurou gave up before the match even started. He became paranoid and was unsure what to do because Gaara's match was delayed. The Sand Genin were under orders to start their plan for the invasion of Leaf by Sand and Sound after Gaara's match. After the invasion began Kankurou helped Gaara escape from the arena to an area where he could rest so he could begin his transformation into the Shukaku demon. Along the way he was stopped by Uchiha Sasuke and Aburame Shino. Shino directed Sasuke to continue after Gaara as he wanted to finally have his match with Kankurou. Kankurou and Shino exchanged blows but Shino was able to overcome Kankurou with his destruction bugs. Later Temari was able to find her injured brother and help him to safety. With the defeat of Gaara by Uzumaki Naruto, Kankurou and his siblings retreated from Leaf.

Kankurou had only three days to live, but the medical skills of Sakura managed to save him in time. He then remained in the village to recover as Naruto and his team attempted to track down Gaara's abductors.

Description: Gaara's life was one of torment and hatred. The sand that protects Gaara is the work of the demon Shukaku. This demon was once said to be the living soul of a Sand priest, we now know it is one of the bijuu, a tailed demon of the ancient world. Kazekage had the bijuu imbued into his unborn son Gaara by Sand Kunoichi Chiyo. Though Shukaku protects Gaara from harm, it has caused him deep emotional and psychological harm. Whenever Gaara sleeps, Shukaku begins to eat more and more away at Gaara's psyche. This has led Gaara to limit his sleep to try and protect whatever mental stability he has left. Seeing that Gaara was unable to control the incarnation when young, Kazekage ordered Gaara killed. The sand constantly protected Gaara though and foiled any attempt at assassination. Gaara has cursed his father and those in the village for what they have done to him but he still acts under their wishes to participate in the Chuunin Exam. It is during this period that Gaara begins to lose more of his mental stability, eventually fully giving himself to the demon and allowing its full large form to take shape, that of a Tanuki, or Raccoon-Dog. It is briefly allowed to run rampant on its own while Gaara engages in a forced sleep, but Naruto is able to wake and injure Gaara and Shukaku crumbled back into sand.

After being injured Gaara and Naruto are near exhausted, Gaara remained motionless on the ground, only able to watch as Naruto summoned the strength to keep crawling towards Gaara to stop him from further hurting Sakura. Naruto explained to Gaara that he grew up in a similar fashion, that his life could have turned out the same had people not acknowledged and cared for him like Iruka and Naruto's fellow teammates. Naruto explained that one can become truly strong not by fighting for oneself, but for those precious to them. It was then Gaara was able to fully understand that he had been living his life in the wrong manner. Shortly thereafter Kankurou and Temari appeared to help Gaara. Gaara let them know he was finished fighting, and had the team retreat. As they made their way back to the Wind Country, Gaara did something surprising to both Temari and Kankurou, he apologized for hurting them in the past.

After Sand had retreated the country discovered that they had been manipulated into invading Leaf by Orochimaru and not under the direction of their Kage. After conceding defeat, Sand and Leaf became allies again. Months later when Shikamaru and his Genin team went on a mission to retrieve Sasuke from the hands of Orochimaru, Tsunade requested a favor from the Sand Country. When Shikamaru and his team were in a dire situation, the three Sand Genin returned to lend assistance to their allies the Leaf. Gaara assisted Rock Lee in fighting Sound ninja Kimimaro. Kimimaro went to his limits and would have surely killed Gaara, had his sickness not got the better of him and ended his life.

In the period after, Gaara ascended to the position of Kazekage some time after the death of the former Kage, his father. With a less hostile and more stable personality, he was welcomed by his people and popular, although it was later revealed that he and every Kazekage before him were more like figureheads with the village's council acting more in the administrative department. Gaara was attacked by Akatsuki member Deidara and sacrificed his own safety to protect the village when Deidara threatened to reduce it to rubble. He was taken to Akatsuki's base in the River Country and through a complicated process, had Shukaku removed from him. However, as with all victims of the process, he was killed by it. His corpse was kept by Deidara as a trophy, but Naruto and Kakashi defeated him and retrieved it, where Chiyo gave up her life-force to resurrect him. It should be noted that despite the Shukaku bound to him, Gaara is still able to control sand with his own chakra.

Description:Baki was ordered to watch over Gaara in preparation for the invasion of Leaf by Sound and Sand. While in Leaf Village, he secretly met with the Sound spy Kabuto. The Chuunin exams third preliminary test examiner Gekkou Hayate was attempting to listen in but he was discovered by Baki and Kabuto. Hayate fled but Baki followed, fought and killed him. At the start of the invasion of Leaf, Baki challenged to a fight the examiner of the third Chuunin test, Genma. He and Genma fought to a standstill, with Baki retreating once their forces had been defeated.

Baki would return to Hidden Sand and learn that their Kazekage had been killed by Orochimaru, who had been impersonating their leader for over a month. Approximately three years later, Baki would still be an active ninja in Hidden Sand; attempting to do his part to protect his village and retrieve Gaara, who had been captured by Akatsuki.

Description: Tsunade is the granddaughter of the First Hokage. This alone granted her prestige and recognition, but she was also lucky enough to be placed under the tutelage of the God of Shinobi, the Third Hokage. With a high level of skill to start her off, plus the blood she carried, Tsunade had something else to boast about – she was the heir of the First Hokage’s necklace, an item worth enormous amounts of money. Continuing the heritage of it, she passed it to her little brother, Nawaki for his birthday. Nawaki, filled with joy, proclaimed that he would eventually become the Hokage. However, tragedy struck when Tsunade approached the scene of a raid one dark evening. Outside, Orochimaru and Jiraiya sat. Cold-heartedly, Orochimaru advised her that it would probably be better in the long run if Tsunade didn’t see Nawaki’s corpse. The necklace was returned to her.

Several years later, Tsunade had grown up considerably and become an expert in the medical field, knowing several special Ninjutsu healing techniques as well as a variety of offensive moves, poisons and treatments. It was at a meeting that she proposed to the Third Hokage that the traditional 3-man cell be altered and carry a medic. It was also at this meeting that she met a young man who shared her views, named Dan. The two discussed their points with each other, slowly becoming friends and in time, lovers. Dan revealed his dream was to become Hokage, for the reason of supporting the ideals of a medic on the team. Tsunade presented him with the necklace. Only once more, on a mission, it brought nothing but bad luck. Dan was fatally wounded. Tsunade came to his aid, but too late. Despite her attempt to heal him, Dan died. Tsunade wept looking at the hands she had placed on his bloody chest. The necklace had claimed another victim and Tsunade was scarred deeper than ever.

Blaming the rejection of the proposal to be the factor in Dan’s death and once again taking back her necklace, Tsunade parted ways with Leaf and wandered, forsaking the ways of the ninja and living a life of gambling, drinking and along the way, acquiring a young apprentice and pet – Dan's young niece Shizune as her aide and a pig with an astounding sense of smell, Tonton. Tsunade abused her powers of bodily manipulation by frequently changing her physical appearance to look like previous ages – sometimes a teenager, a mature lady, or somewhere in between. At 50 years old when she is introduced, she is indistinguishable from a woman 20 years younger than herself. However, the methods she used were not Genjutsu at all – her body physically alters to the condition she chooses to hold it in. By changing how she looks, Tsunade would often loan money from gambling and then use her abilities to make herself harder to track down. Despite this, Tsunade soon gained a reputation, for her desire to gamble was far greater than her success rate while doing so. Often losing huge amounts of money, Tsunade built up the nickname “The legendary sucker”.

After the crippling attack led by Orochimaru on Leaf, the council approached Jiraiya and asked him to accept the position of Hokage. Jiraiya refused, but offered them a replacement in the form of Tsunade, who he promised to bring back with him. At the same time, the Third Hokage had given a parting shot to Orochimaru by stripping the soul from his arms and left Orochimaru in need of a physician. It was in a village overlooked by Tanzaku Castle that Tsunade met the first of her old team. Orochimaru explained the situation to her, clearly stating that he had killed the Third Hokage and his arms were in their current status because of that. However, Orochimaru left her a cruel offer. If she would restore his arms, he would bring back Nawaki and Dan, which he was unable to do without his arms working. Tsunade demanded to know what he would do after – Orochimaru told her he would finish the job on Leaf. The two agreed that the deal would only go ahead if Orochimaru would leave their home alone. Orochimaru gave her a week to decide; also suggesting she secured two corpses as sacrifices.

Shortly after, Jiraiya and Naruto caught up with her and Shizune. Jiraiya presented her with the position of Hokage, but Tsunade rejected it outright, even going so far as to insult it. Her words angered Naruto and they stepped outside, where Tsunade claimed she would beat Naruto with just one finger. During the fight, she became distracted as Naruto’s image reflected the visage of Nawaki. Thrown off for a moment, Naruto used the advantage and attempted to use the Rasengan on her. However, Naruto had still not learned it completely and as promised, a single flick was all it took to floor him. It was then that Tsunade made a wager with Naruto – if he could fully perform the Rasengan in a week, she would give him her monstrously expensive necklace, an heirloom of the First Hokage. Despite how cool she appeared during the bet, Tsunade was being tormented inside, with the offers from Orochimaru and Jiraiya, one good and one bad. Like a devil and angel on each shoulder, Tsunade thought it over for a week. On the sixth evening, Jiraiya joined her for a friendly drink. At this point, Tsunade slipped a tasteless drug with no scent into Jiraiya’s cup. A short time later, she set off to the meeting place with Orochimaru…

Arriving at the rendezvous point with him, Orochimaru stood waiting. As Tsunade reached out to take Orochimaru’s hands, Kabuto attacked her. Orochimaru then uttered that he expected a betrayal… and thanked Kabuto for the warning. Kabuto, being a medic himself, recognised Tsunade was not using any healing technique but a killing one instead. Tsunade then proclaimed that she knew Orochimaru too well and he would not fulfil his promise to stay away from Leaf. Also, bringing back her brother and boyfriend in such a cruel manner only for Orochimaru to then destroy their home would be spitting on their graves. Enraged, Tsunade then chased after the pair, destroying everything in her path with her inhuman strength. In an open field, Kabuto engaged her in combat, taking advantage of her phobia of blood by cutting himself and using a pill to stop clotting. Despite her handicap, Tsunade still fought against him, managing to scramble his nerves briefly but being cut up, on one occasion only surviving a near-fatal slice thanks to her chest padding a blow.

While Kabuto was laying into Tsunade, he was interrupted by the arrival of Naruto, Jiraiya and Shizune. Jiraiya went for Orochimaru and battled him directly, still drugged and hampered while Naruto set himself on Kabuto. A fierce battle between them forced Naruto to use his trump card – an improvised Rasengan. However, as Kabuto was thrown backwards, he got in a quick move and shredded up Naruto’s internal chakra pathways and heart, disabling the Kyuubi’s tremendous healing power. As Naruto sunk down, Tsunade shook off her fear of blood for a moment and put everything she had into keeping Naruto alive, facing the nightmare of seeing her loved ones die again. However, Naruto weakly managed to reach up and touch her necklace, confirming he won the bet.

At this point, Naruto’s Rasengan had caught Orochimaru’s eye, who panicked and lunged at him with his sword protruding from his jaws. Tsunade took the hit instead, right through the chest. Against, she suffered horrendous wounds protecting Naruto from Orochimaru, being showered with blood. But still, she would not move – instead doing the opposite, standing tall and stopping her shaking. With renewed determination, she accepted Jiraiya’s offer and claimed her place as Fifth Hokage. Against Shizune’s pleading, Tsunade then used a special technique: with mass amounts of chakra that she had accumulated and stored in the diamond shape on her forehead, she suddenly released it and caused her body to generate all the vital organs she had lost or taken damage to, instantly putting her body back into prime condition, although as Shizune added, the number of times a cell divides is limited, ultimately shortening Tsunade’s lifespan as her tissues grow back. Taking a smear of her own blood, Tsunade then began making hand seals, prompting Kabuto to return to Orochimaru’s side and Jiraiya to prepare himself too.

The Legendary Three then each summoned their respective assistants, also the rulers over all other summoned animals of their kind – the slug, Katsuyu; the anaconda, Manda and the toad, Gamabunta. Manda proved to be an exceptionally deadly opponent, taking on both Katsuyu and Gamabunta at once as well as evading an incredible blast of fire from Gamabunta and Jiraiya. However, as Manda prepared to take a chunk out of Gamabunta, Tsunade pinned his mouth to the ground with Gamabunta’s dagger and turned on Orochimaru. As he and Kabuto retreated, Tsunade and the rest went back to the place where their first meeting happened. Once again, Naruto’s mouth caused them to step outside and he found himself awaiting the killer finger-flick. Instead, he felt Tsunade’s lips on his forehead and won her respect. With the necklace finally on a suitable owner that survived the curse, Tsunade returned with Naruto and Jiraiya as Hokage, but to trouble.

One of her first acts was to check on people in the hospital, including Sasuke and Rock Lee. Lee’s case was very sensitive, saying that even with her skills, the operation to correct the damage he received while performing the Reverse Lotus was risky… with a 50% chance of him surviving it. Tsunade’s next act was when she found out another patient had gone AWOL – Uchiha Sasuke. With most of the Jounin and Chuunin unavailable, Tsunade assembled a small group led by Shikamaru and sent them after Sasuke. It was while they were away that she began the operation on Lee, who survived and immediately ran after the other Genin, mistakenly taking Tsunade’s bottle of alcohol with him instead of his medicine. As an additional precaution, Tsunade called in a debt from Sand, enlisting the aid of the Sand Siblings, Gaara, Kankurou and Temari in the mission. Despite their best efforts, Sasuke would not return and in deep sorrow, Tsunade was approached by Sakura, who enrolled as her understudy. For the next two and a half years, Tsunade instructed Sakura on medical techniques as well as passing on the secrets of her amazing physical strength.

Tsunade’s current challenge lies in a man named Danzou, a powerful and shady man who was the political rival of the Third Hokage. His radical ideals caused friction with Tsunade, especially with the shadowy “Root ANBU” at his disposal and ambitious political agenda. As well as pressure from the council, Tsunade looks to be the most defiant Hokage yet.

Description: Jiraiya is a remarkable ninja and possibly the closest thing to the Hokage that never was, not only trained by the third Hokage but also the trainer of the man who would eventually go on to become the Fourth, as well as a young boy who dreams of one day being the Hokage himself. Since childhood, he has had an eye for the opposite sex and often had conflicts with one of his team, Tsunade, over her figure. Jiraiya was not a model ninja at all and usually ended up as the fall guy, although his master comparing him to Orochimaru, his other team member, didn’t help much.

Despite his surrounding with the Hokage lineage, Jiraiya’s earlier years were mostly uneventful acting the trusted village soldier until he discovered the startling revelation of Orochimaru’s crimes against his own village. Although the two were comrades, Orochimaru would not listen to Jiraiya and their last meeting as fellow Leaf Shinobi was a battle on the outskirts of the country. Orochimaru escaped, perhaps leaving Jiraiya a wiser man for it. Some time after, possibly because of the Orochimaru incident, Jiraiya parted ways as a ninja with his home village. For his services, he was granted permission and went into seclusion, not viewed as a wanted criminal. Retired from active duty, Jiraiya’s life was rather simple – he became an erotic novelist, often spying with his telescope on bathing women in hot springs for inspiration. Incidentally, Hatake Kakashi is a firm fan of the series, named “Icha Icha” (Come, Come! or Make-Out in the western version). Versions documented so far have been Paradise, Violence and Tactics.
However, it was later revealed that the real reason Jiraiya left was not to simply become writer – his spying on young women was a mere pastime, with his main objective in spying being on keeping track of Orochimaru. It was from his surveillance that Jiraiya uncovered the existence of the criminal organization, Akatsuki. Over the years, Jiraiya observed them carefully, even after Orochimaru left their ranks. It was one day while doing his other kind of research at a hot spring that Jiraiya met with a young boy and his tutor. After the tutor, Ebisu, offended Jiraiya, there was a brief scuffle which ended with Ebisu floored. The boy, Naruto, then demanded compensation for the fight as Ebisu was to train him and was currently knocked out. Jiraiya then agreed to help him instead, after Naruto bribed him by appealing to his lechery. It was during the training of helping Naruto develop chakra control that Jiraiya noticed the seal on Naruto’s stomach had been given an imbalance, Orochimaru’s work.

Jiraiya then began to undo Orochimaru’s Five Element Seal with a technique he had invented to directly counter it. Figuring out who Naruto was from the seal, Jiraiya trained Naruto to put the Kyuubi’s dormant chakra to use, helping Naruto understand more about himself. Ebisu, recovered, then begged Jiraiya to come back and help defend against Orochimaru, as they were both considered to be on level pegging with each other as part of “the legendary three”. Jiraiya’s training with Naruto continued as he taught him how to summon animals as aid. Not regular animals, but larger, intelligent ones capable of following spoken orders. Jiraiya was a master of toads, showing Naruto his skill by summoning one as tall as himself before his eyes. Naruto followed Jiraiya’s orders and signed a contract with the toads in blood, then tried out his new move. Naruto only managed to summon a tiny, useless tadpole. The incidents repeated, growing only in miniscule progress. Jiraiya then realized it would take drastic measures to help him learn.

Jiraiya sent Naruto tumbling off a cliff to a fatal fall. It was through necessity that Naruto reached inside himself, and then embrace the power that Orochimaru tried to deny him. Calling on the Kyuubi’s chakra, Naruto summoned a gigantic toad to break his fall. To Naruto’s surprise, he had called the ruler over all summoned toads, Gamabunta. To Gamabunta’s surprise, Naruto was the one who summoned him and not Jiraiya, as the only other person capable of summoning him, the Fourth Hokage, was long since gone.

Jiraiya, after fulfilling his promise to Naruto to train him, disappeared again for a while. It was not until Orochimaru’s attack on Konoha that Jiraiya came back out of hiding, crushing one of Orochimaru’s three-headed snakes by summoning a heavy toad over it. With a grand entrance, Jiraiya then helped to clean out the invaders, but had no time to help save his master who was busy with Orochimaru himself. He was too late to help, but was present to pay his respects after the third Hokage sacrificed himself for his village, reminiscing over the time that he, Orochimaru and the third Hokage were on good terms.

However, Jiraiya was soon given a surprise offer by the council of Leaf – with the Hokage dead, a replacement was needed and Jiraiya was the man in mind. Despite the good intention, Jiraiya declined and admitted that he was the wrong kind of person for the job, but had another candidate as a possible replacement – the other member of the legendary three, Tsunade. When he was told he would be assigned help, he once more declined, but asked to take Naruto with him. Naruto initially refused, wanting to learn the Chidori like Sasuke. Jiraiya convinced him though that on the trip to find Tsunade, he would teach him a move to rival even the Chidori. In an instant, Naruto accepted and packed for the journey. Along the way, Jiraiya also remarked that in a way, Naruto resembled the fourth Hokage.

The two stopped in small town on the way, where Jiraiya caught the eye of an attractive young woman (or was it the other way around?) and instantly shoved Naruto off to train on his own. However, Jiraiya’s suspicion grew about the girl until he realized she was under some form of hypnosis. Returning to where he left Naruto, he arrived just in time to see two members of Akatsuki meddling with Naruto and Sasuke, who had ran to face Itachi. Dropping the girl in a safe place and blocking one of Hoshigaki Kisame’s lethal sword swipes with a summoned toad, Jiraiya then threatened to take him and Uchiha Itachi out alone. Sasuke told him to hold back and that Itachi was rightfully his. However, Sasuke was still not capable of beating Itachi and took a variety of blows ending in Itachi using his Tsukiyomi hypnosis to mentally torture Sasuke. Naruto ran in headfirst to stop them, forcing Jiraiya to pull his trump card.

Using an unusual form of summoning, Jiraiya covered the corridor in the material that composed the stomach, mouth and throat of a fire-breathing toad, giving it amazing durability and wrapping around the criminals to hold them and pull Sasuke to safety. As Itachi and Kisame tried to back down, Jiraiya attempted to crush them by making the fleshy walls close in on them. As they approached a dead end, Jiraiya followed them and to his surprise, found a hole at the end. The opening was surrounded by a mysterious black fire, which Jiraiya decided to seal up inside a scroll for safety. Seconds later, he took a boot in the face from Gai, who mistook him for the Akatsuki members threatening the Genin kids.

Naruto, enraged by the actions of Akatsuki, claimed he would make them pay, but Jiraiya gave him a harsh reality check as they stared down at what remained of Sasuke after the battle. Gai took Sasuke back to the village, but offered Naruto a gift – a jumpsuit like the one he and Lee wore. Jiraiya, once Gai was out of earshot, told Naruto he would forbid him to wear it. Being serious, he then told Naruto what it was they wanted – the Kyuubi inside him, to use it for their own ends. Naruto simply decided that he’ll become stronger to defend himself from them and continued to ask about Tsunade. Jiraiya told him that during the search, he’ll be concentrating more on Naruto’s training. Naruto popped the jumpsuit out again, but Jiraiya refuses to allow him to wear it.

While in the next town over, the place where Tsunade was rumored to be, Jiraiya also taught Naruto a lesson in vices – that money, women and alcohol are detrimental to the ninja way. And to stop Naruto from becoming greedy, he confiscated his bulging wallet and gave him a smaller amount, plus his luggage including the toad-summoning scroll in case they lose each other. Later, Naruto found Jiraiya sitting in a fancy bar, accompanied by a pair of girls, drunk and with Naruto’s empty wallet on the table. During the following scuffle, Naruto stains the jacket of a passer-by: a former Hidden Rock ninja, who tried to extort the money from Naruto or else. With lightning-fast reflexes, Jiraiya unleashed a swirling maelstrom of chakra from his hand and sent the attacker spiraling away into a water balloon stand.

As Naruto and Jiraiya left, Jiraiya bought the remainder of the water balloons and gave them to Naruto, telling him that the move he just used will require extremely difficult chakra control. Over the next few days, Jiraiya slowly gave Naruto more hints on how to successfully perform the move, allowing Naruto more time to work on it while he collected information on Tsunade and revealing the origin of it – the Fourth Hokage invented it, took 3 years to finally complete it and broke down the training for it into numerous steps. The complexity of it earned it a spot among the highest ranked techniques. Bit by bit, Jiraiya helped Naruto to learn it, also marking his hand as a focal point.

Eventually, Jiraiya traced Tsunade to the direction of Tanzaku Castle. However, he arrived to find it in ruins and reports of a giant snake. Later, Jiraiya finally bumped into her in a pub and spits out his purpose, shocking everyone including Naruto with the request for her to be the Fifth Hokage. Tsunade declined firmly, but Jiraiya later tried to talk her into it over a drink, also deducing the snake was present because of Orochimaru and that if she undid what the Third Hokage did to protect his village, she’d be an ally to Orochimaru and an enemy to him.

A week passed and Jiraiya tried one more time to convince Tsunade to accept the position over a drink. However, Jiraiya fell foul of her when she spiked his drink, waking up on the day that Tsunade planned to meet with Orochimaru with a stinging sensation all over, barely able to hold chopsticks let alone stand or use any moves. Tsunade had already gone ahead and turned on Orochimaru by the time Jiraiya caught up with them, bringing Shizune, Naruto and Ton-Ton with him. Naruto was surprised to see Kabuto alongside Orochimaru, where Jiraiya pointed out Kabuto’s allegiance was on his forehead protector, now bearing the Hidden Sound logo. Jiraiya then told Shizune to keep an eye on Kabuto as he went after Orochimaru directly. The two were equally matched, fighting atop the incapacitated serpents that Orochimaru had summoned that were stuck in a gigantic artificial swamp Jiraiya made, even though he complained that it wasn’t his usual level of capability.

It wasn’t until Orochimaru noticed Naruto’s use of the Rasengan that Jiraiya slipped up, having fended off Orochimaru’s direct attacks with his unusual body by turning his hair into spiny projections. As Orochimaru hurtled towards Naruto, Jiraiya was caught in a sucker-punch, still groggy from the drug and ending up being ensnared by Orochimaru’s tongue, sent to the ground with immense force. Still working it from his system, he finally got back up as Tsunade escalated the fight by bringing her summoned creature, the slug Katsuyu, forcing Jiraiya to back her up by calling on Gamabunta’s help. Gamabunta, as usual, was shocked to see the other major summoned creatures and joked at a reunion. Jiraiya set him straight that it was a battle against Orochimaru.

It was in this battle that Gamabunta showed another example of his flexibility and co-operation as he and Jiraiya simultaneously fired a stream of oil and flame respectively, resulting in a massive inferno that engulfed Manda, Orochimaru’s massive anaconda. However, Jiraiya noticed that Manda had escaped and shed his skin, cleverly hiding underground. As Manda popped out, Gamabunta and Jiraiya attacked it, only to find it was a fake-out as only the tail emerged. Manda’s fanged jaws opened up behind them, but Tsunade drove Gamabunta’s tremendous dagger into Manda’s head, pinning the jaws shut. The entire ordeal left Jiraiya with a broken rib and leg.

Jiraiya was also responsible for easing Tsunade back into Konoha, showing her to those who needed her medical skills. It wasn’t until the fight between Naruto and Sasuke on the roof of the hospital that Jiraiya reappeared, where he and Kakashi scolded each other for teaching the boys such dangerous techniques as Rasengan and Chidori, despite the necessity. Kakashi also hit a sensitive spot with Jiraiya, pointing out their rivalry wasn’t too far from the one with him and Orochimaru.


A short time later, Jiraiya realized the full gravity of the situation as Naruto returned, being carried by Kakashi after failing to apprehend the rogue Sasuke during his betrayal and defection to Orochimaru. Visiting Naruto’s hospital bed, he assured Naruto that the two were now officially teacher and apprentice for three years, due to his research on Akatsuki and Orochimaru revealing that Orochimaru wouldn’t be able to take over Sasuke until that time had passed. Despite the good news, Jiraiya also brought bad and told Naruto to forget about Sasuke, drawing on his own personal experiences and recalling his own attempt to stop Orochimaru leaving. The two parted on good terms, agreeing that the training will begin officially for Naruto in several months time.

Before their official training began, Jiraiya gave into Naruto’s whim to find Sasuke; perhaps recognizing his own desires to redeem a colleague, leading Naruto and Sakura on a brief but ultimately failed mission into the outskirts of Orochimaru’s lair. While helping a clan that Orochimaru used and abused, Jiraiya’s weakness for women was exploited multiple times, even with a custom-made trap set just for him when one of the Fuuma clan’s members was hypnotized, dressed as a geisha and made to seduce Jiraiya, then attack. The so-called “Koto Princess” clearly wasn’t enough to stop him and Jiraiya rescued his Genin charges, bringing them and two of the Fuuma members back to their clan. Needless to say, the incident put both Naruto and Jiraiya off venturing back there without further information.

Soon enough the time came and Naruto and Jiraiya left Konoha behind and officially started on their training journey. During the time that passed, Jiraiya continued his novel series as well as his research into Akatsuki, Orochimaru and now with Naruto by his side, the Kyuubi. Concerned for Naruto’s phenomenon of Kyuubi manifestation, where the Kyuubi appeared around Naruto as a fox-shaped aura of bubbling red chakra, Jiraiya developed a patch that would neutralize it when placed on Naruto. Unfortunately this was not before Naruto went into a four-tailed fox aura form. This deadly berserk Naruto managed to strike Jiraiya causing a large scar to develop on his chest. Not much else is currently known about the training, other than Naruto was able to improve on his Rasengan and endured exercises so tough, most of his clothing was worn through, even requiring him to move the metal plate on his forehead protector onto a new, bandana-like piece of fabric.


After three years, Naruto and Jiraiya finally returned to the village. Jiraiya returned Naruto to Kakashi's case and as a precaution; Jiraiya supplied the suppression patch to him in case Naruto ran wild. He also reminded Naruto that there was a technique in his arsenal he should not use. After Kakashi and the team returned to Konoha from saving Gaara, Jiraiya met with Tsunade and Yamato in Kakashi's hospital room as he recuperated. With Kakashi out of commission due to his usage of the Mangekyou Sharingan, Naruto was turned over to the case of Yamato, the genetic air to Shodai Hokage's bijuu controlling abilities. Jiraiya warned the group of the danger Naruto posed when he lost control to the fox aura, showing him the large scar he received from Naruto's four-tailed form.

Jiraiya’s main motivation in life, besides his taste for women and adult affairs, is as a spy for Konoha and to ultimately foil Orochimaru. Disguising a lot of information gathering as peeping tom activity, Jiraiya is a very competent and powerful ninja, noted for being able to efficiently repel Uchiha Itachi and Hoshigaki Kisame. His connections to more than one Hokage and skill with summoning Toads has made him famous as one of The Legendary Three and his name, even when announced in the goofiest of manners, often strikes fear into his enemies.

Description:While serving as Tsunade's pupil, Shizune left Hidden Leaf to accompany her sensei, who was also the lover of her Uncle Dan. However, she still loved her home, and when Jiraiya and Naruto offered Tsunade a chance to return as the Fifth Hokage, Shizune was excited. She quickly formed a bond with Naruto, and had her loyalties torn when it appeared Tsunade would betray the Leaf. Later, she joined with her master in battle against Orochimaru but she was beaten in battle by Kabuto.

When Tsunade finally accepted the job as Hokage and returned to Konoha, Shizune returned with her and went on active ninja status again. Her medical talents helped save several ninja who were seriously injured; including Raidou, Genma, Neji and Chouji, who all had fallen in battles with the Sound Four.

Umino Iruuka

Techniques:
Description:A Chuunin from the villaga of Konoha, Iruka teachs in the villages ninja academy. Iruka sees himself when he looks at Naruto, as he also grew up without any parents and goofed off to attract attention. Iruka acts as an older brother figure to Naruto and often worries about him as Naruto journeys to become a better ninja.

Iruka doubts the rookie Genin are prepared to particpate in the Chunin exam, so he gives each a pre-test to determine if their skills are advanced enough. All pass his test, with some reluctance he agrees they are ready for the exam.

Hayate

Techniques:
Description: A judge for the Chuunin exam, he overheard Orichimaru's Secret Plot to invade Konoha and met a nasty ending. Hayate coughs alot, because he suffers from an illness. His ninjutsu is at a very high level, because he can perform the moon dance. The moon dance is so powerful that most enemies cannot dodge it.

Mitarashi Anko

Description:When Anko was a Genin she was under the tutelage of the Sannin Orochimaru. While under his care, Orochimaru trained Anko in many forbidden jutsu. Orochimaru did not hold any compassion for Anko, merely using her for his own ends. On one trip to the Sea Country, Orochimaru chose Anko for his latest experiment. She and nine others were to wear his cursed seal. Only Anko survived being marked with the Heaven Seal.

She rejected Orochimaru's plans for her so she was left behind by her sensei. She was found shortly afterwards by ANBU. She returned to Konoha and had the mark sealed away by Medical ninja under the watch of Sandaime Hokage. She would begin to repress many of her memories of this time as a coping mechanism. She then began her new life without Orochimaru's mentorship, though she would still continue to use many of the kinjutsu she had learned while studying under him. In the coming months she would continue to develop her skills and eventually pass the Chuunin Exam.

As the years passed Anko further advanced in rank and was appointed to the position of Special Jounin. She would use her wit and skills as a proctor when Konoha held the Chuunin Exam. It was during this time she learned the horrible truth about a mysterious Grass Genin murder, her mentor had returned and was participating in the Exam. Anko rushed to confront him and planned to use a suicidal jutsu in the desperate hope she could take her former sensei down with her. Orochimaru shrugged off her attacks though and let her know he was focusing on a new project, Uchiha Sasuke. Orochimaru left and Anko rushed back to let everyone know what she had learned.

A few weeks later she would talk over the recent events with the Third Hokage. He told her not to blame herself for Orochimaru getting away and she tried to accept that. She then expressed her wish that the Fourth Hokage was alive, so that he could take care of the evil man. When Orochimaru formally began his invasion of Leaf, Anko would not take the front lines against her mentor, instead she would help ensure Leaf's citizens made it out of harms way.

Months later she would be offered a chance to investigate strange happenings in the Sea Country. It gave Anko the chance to revisit her past and come to terms with her sordid history with Orochimaru. Though she didn't confront Orochimaru directly, she helped stop his minions from causing any further problems for the island nation. She also finally regained her memory and remembered with happiness that she had rejected Orochimaru, and had had the will to stand up for herself.

Ebisu

Description:Ebisu is an elite Jounin tutor; he also serves as the personal tutor to the Third Hokage's grandson Konohamaru.
Like many in the village Ebisu saw Naruto as the Kyuubi himself. Over time though Naruto's hard work impressed Ebisu and he acknowledged that Naruto could be a good role model for Konohamaru.

Yeah, that's going to be a bit hard for me. I have no working sound card in the vicinity of my home and have no idea when I'll be getting one. However, I am almost completely up to date on the manga, which should be just fine for making points on key events. I think I'll be fine.

Uchiha Itachi

Techniques:
Description The young Uchiha Itachi was a skilled prodigy of Leaf Village. He graduated the Ninja Academy at age 7 and passed the Chuunin Exam at age 10. By age 13 Itachi had become a captain in the special ANBU squad. Itachi began to grow dissatisfied with his clan, feeling they were not using their gifts to their fullest extent. To test his potential he murdered his best friend Shisui. Doing so granted him the ability to use the Mangekyou Sharingan, a rare Sharingan form seen only in a few select clan members. To gain this form Itachi believed you had to kill your closest friend.

After murdering Shisui, Itachi turned against his clan. Itachi felt that Sasuke could also gain the Mangekyou, and felt that murdering the clan would drive Sasuke to his absolute limits, to one day gain the Mangekyou as well.

After wiping out his clan, Itachi fled Leaf and joined the Akatsuki Organization. Several years after leaving, Itachi returned with fellow member Hoshigaki Kisame. It was during this period it was revealed Akatsuki was seeking to obtain the Kyuubi demon from inside Naruto for their own ends. The two men began to do battle with Hidden Leaf ninja but when they began to be outnumbered, they fled.

A short time afterwards, Sasuke learned that Itachi had returned to the village. So he took off after Akatsuki's target, Naruto. Itachi and Kisame began to track and follow Naruto and Jiraiya who had left Leaf Village to find the Sannin Tsunade. While Naruto and Jiraiya had stopped to rest at a hotel, Itachi surprised and confronted Naruto. It was then Sasuke finally caught up and faced his brother for the first time in years.

Itachi easily defended himself against Sasuke and then forced him to relive the moment of his parents murder over and over again. Surprised that Sasuke had still been able to gain much power, Itachi dismissed his little brother’s growth. Jiraiya arrived and upon seeing that the situation was turning more dangerous, Kisame and Itachi decided to flee.

Over the next few years the duo would continue to help Akatsuki accomplish their goals. When members Deidara and Sasori captured Gaara, Kisame and Itachi volunteered to help delay the ninja who had been trailing them. Itachi once again had the opportunity to fight both Kakashi and Naruto. The two Leaf ninja appeared to get the better of Itachi, but it was revealed to merely be a host sacrificial body. Itachi himself was miles away acting through the sacrifice in exchange for some small measure of his chakra.

Their delay plan worked, and the group managed to extract Shukaku from Gaara before they could be stopped. Itachi and the group then took their leave. Itachi would continue to help Akatsuki and await the day when his younger brother would finally be powerful enough to live up to Itachi's high standards.

Hoshigi Kisame

Description: Kisame engaged in murder and rebellion in his home country, fleeing Mist he joined Akatsuki. Kisame is partnered with Uchiha Itachi. They have been assigned to capture the Nine-Tails Jinchuuriki Naruto.

Description: Deidara is from Hidden Rock. He and his partner Sasori were responsible for capturing the One-Tail Jinchuuriki Gaara. Deidara utilizes mouths on his palms to create small clay creatures to which he can give life. He lost both arms in battles, but seemed to shrug it off. Possibly because the arms can be reattached and repaired.

Zetsu

Description:Zetsu appears venus-fly trap-like in appearance. His main body is split into two halfs, both light and dark. He appeared to be traveling alone when he spied on Naruto and Sasuke's battle at the Valley of the End. For a period he was teamed with non-Akatsuki member Tobi. Once Tobi was admitted into the group, it appears Zetsu once again works alone.

Kakuzu

Description:Kakuzu is very large in size, towering over all the other members. He is a missing-nin from Hidden Waterfall. He and his partner Hidan are responsible for acquiring the Two-Tailed Jinchuuriki.

Description:Hidan bears a large rope scythe and he admits that he is the slowest attacker of the group. It is unknown if this is due to the scythe size or his slowness in general. He bears a forehead protector which may or may not be Rain's symbol. It may be a drawing error or an entirely new village. He and his partner Kakuzu are responsible for acquiring the Two-Tailed Jinchuuriki.

Akasuna No Sasori
S-Rank Criminal
Techniques:
Description:Sasori (meaning scorpion) traveled with Deidara from Hidden Rock. He was a legendary puppet master from Hidden Sand who left his village approximately 20 years before the start of the series. Sasori converted portions of his body into puppet parts, retaining a flesh and blood portion of his original self in a chest container. He used the "hitokugutsu" method to turn people into puppets while still alive, allowing him to use their jutsu even after their "death." He fell in battle to Chiyo and Sakura, hesitating to not avoid the lethal strike of his parents who had been made into puppets.

Description:Tobi was an associate of Zetsu. He appears clumsy and is very polite in his speech. After Sasori was killed in battle, Tobi was eager to replace Sasori as a new member of Akatsuki. He eventually succeeded and apparently took over Sasori's position in the group. He also is now partnered with Deidara.

Description:This individual seems to act as the leader of the group. He has been adamant that the group can fulfill their desires if they finally possess the bijuu. He also was responsible for summoning the huge statute which holds the spirits of bijuu withdrawn from Jinchuuriki.

Description:This unnamed Akatsuki member had trouble locating his or her Jinchuuriki. This individual sought to fight Team Gai and Kakashi when they were tracking the group. Hoshigaki Kisame told the leader he would like to go instead, since he had an old score to settle with Gai. The leader agreed and both Kisame and Itachi were sent out. The dejected member once again lost out.

Born of the Uchiha name, Sasuke Uchiha is one of the two lone survivors of what was at one time considered to be the most powerful and influential clans in Konoha (Hidden Leaf) village. Around the age of 8, Sasuke’s older brother, Itachi (13) decided he would test his power by violently and mercilessly slaying all of his friends, family, and fellow Uchiha ninjas. It is unknown why Itachi left Sasuke alive, however it is speculated by Sasuke himself that Itachi wishes for his brother to become stronger by living everyday to destroy Itachi. Sasuke has called himself an avenger, stating that nothing is more important to him than becoming stronger than his brother and killing him, driving himself to train harder and longer every day. He has also become a sort of rival to Naruto Uzumaki with this fact, having Naruto constantly trying to out do Sasuke in training.

Also, since the anime hasn't reached ARC II, just put the ninja ranks after the Chuunin exam. Like...Naruto should be a Genin, so on.

Here's Naruto's, it's a bit longer:

With the Nine Tailed Demon, Kyuubi sealed within him by the 4th Hokage/Yondaime Hokage in a desperate attempt to save the village, Naruto was always resented and feared by many. He didn’t understand the feeling of what love was and thus acted out in a plea to be acknowledged by destroying property, painting on the Hokage mountain (official name?), and stealing. It wasn’t until Naruto’s Ninja Academy sensei; Iruka Umino showed him compassion and that someone actually cared for him, that he began to see the error of acting the way he did.

Previously failing the academy’s graduation exam, Naruto was passed by showing that he was able to learn the forbidden Shadow Clone (Kage Bunshin) jutsu in an incredibly short amount of time. Considering the simple Clone (Bunshin) jutsu was Naruto’s poorest technique.

After graduating from the academy and becoming part of team #7, lead by Kakashi Hatake, Naruto has become somewhat of a rival with one of his teammates, Sasuke Uchiha. They constantly are trying to out do each other in training and fighting. Naruto wishes to prove that he can become the next Hokage and uses Sasuke as a way to push himself harder.



Heh, I almost forgot to include that Naruto want's to become the next Hokage, which is a big thing about him. Wow, I would have looked stupid...

Heh...here's Neji:

Neji was considered one of the most talented and strongest Genin who attended the Chuunin exam, the year of the Sound and Sand’s invasion, and is one of the many Hyuga family members who can use the Byakugan and Gentle Fist Taijutsu fighting style. However, due to being born in the branch house of the Hyuga Clan, Neji may never become the clan’s leader, nor would he normally be allowed to learn the clan’s more secret techniques. Although seeing as Neji is extremely talented in observing techniques, he was able to learn most of them by simply practicing.

Even though Neji is of the branch house and is supposed to respect and honor the main house, he resents them much like his father did. When Neji faces Hinata, a main house family member, in the Chuunin exam preliminaries, he talks about how she is spoiled and mentally attacks her with explanations on how she is a harmony-seeker and wishes nothing more than to be somewhere other than in the exams. He say’s “Fate and destiny cannot be changed. Losers will always be just that; Losers.”

After his fight with Naruto Uzumaki in the third Chuunin exam main event, Neji realizes his views may have been skewed and inappropriate. It is evident that he becomes generally nicer to his companions and even to the main house family members there after.

I'll post his jutsus tonight or tomorrow in my time.

Uh... Kakashi... Lets see. where to start...

Kakashi is an unusually strict sensei. He has failed every team before Naruto's team, because they had followed his rules as opposed to working as a team. He emphasizes that the main point of being a ninja is teamwork, that most missions are carried out with teams, and many would fail if the teammates were divided.

<spoiler> This deep sense of comradery has been ingrained in Kakashi through a series of devastating events during his youth. As a child, his father was a legend in Konoha known as White Fang, who's power equalled that of a Sannin. However, after one failed mission, he was forced to commit sepokku. The mission had failed because he decided to save his teamates instead of actually completing the mission.

After this event, Hatake Kakashi was bent up on following every ninja rule precisely, showing no emotion and being cold towards his teammates. That is, until one mission with the Fourth Hokage, Rin, and Uchiha Obito, his friend Obito had been crushed by a boulder during battle. The reason Obito was in peril was because Kakashi at first, decided to finish the mission instead of rescue their third teammate Rin. Kakashi, now being a Jonin, had the higher ranking than Obito and Rin, but Obito rebelled and went to save Rin anyways. Kakashi eventually gave in, and went to save Obito, but his intervention was somewhat late.

After that experience, where his obsession with shinobi rules caused him to be blinded from his teammates, and even caused one of them to be crushed, he turned over a new leaf, and became the teamwork driven Kakashi with a warm heart we've all come to know and love.

evil sealing technique, used to keep sasuke's cursed seal in check. It should be noyted that the raikiri and chidori are two seperate jutsus with the raikiri (lightning blade) being s-class (requires more chakra and chakra control) and chidori (thousand birds) being a-class
