I'm not bashin' nor burnin' on DBZ or Narto or nothin', though just in MY opinion I do not like DBZ what so ever. Mainly because the way that it goes totally overboard with the "super-powers" bit. (hehe)

But when It comes to any show/anime I like a bit of realism to it. Such as the reason why Ninjas (Naruto)have speacial abillities, Chakra, how much the human body can take punishment, and just how much energy a flesh and blood body can possibly have.

I watch the ***/Uncut version of Naruto and I keep noticing that in some episodes I felt like I was watchin DBZ, examples...

(May be possible spoiler)
1: When Rock Lee vs Garaa in the preliminary matches of the Chuunin Exam. How more intense could a battle get? lol

2: During the 3rd phase of Chuunin Exam, after Orichamaru caught the Third Hokoge, Gai punched a Sand Ninja, and made him fly through a wall that seemed like a foot or so thick! >.<

Dose it seem like that Naruto is goin' into that direction? I hope not, 'cause that is what made me lose intrest in Inuyasha.

the reason why I'm postin' this, is mainly 'cause I was wonderin if anyone felt the way I do or I'm just bein a huge critic?

You think that's bad? The only time in my head when I really thought, "WTF that's DBZ" was in one of the recent fillers when Gai and Lee fought, both opening the Celestial Gates. They were fighting at DBZ speeds, but that is due to the opening of the gates... Hmmm... Maybe DBZ characters had open access to the gates? lol

And then there's the Naruto VS Sasuke fight at the end of the Sasuke retrieval arc. They both go Super Saiyan with bigger hair and they start to glow.

You're kidding me, right?!

Okay, Naruto was glowing (get that, glowing and nothing more) with his Kyuubi powers where as Sasuke had unleashed his Cursed Seal Lvl. 2, making him have a demonic look to him.

Now, I can see where you get the hair thing from Sasuke, but Naruto barely changes in appearance other than his teeth, claws, and the overwheming glow of his Kyuubi chakra.

Make sure you get your facts right before saying an anime is becoming like DBZ. Nothing...is as bad in terms of "there is always someone stronger than the strongest" than DBZ. Super Saiyans have nothing to do with it.

The only time I find Naruto to be like DBZ is when I see how boring and drawn out it gets in the later episodes....*Yawn*

Ok, first of all, I like DBZ.

Second of all, I think it gets boring without so many big fights. I mean if you take them out, its just a bunch of people throwing spears and throwing disks at eachother.

Gaara and Rock Lee's fight was intense because they trained hard (Well, Gaara basically stood there the whole fight and let the sand barrier take over.)

And besides, you're watching Japanese Uncut so it tends to exaggerate things a lot more.

Technically, none of the Naruto episodes are flashy with the flying, shooting powerballs, 50 punches a second, and kicks that leave big craters in the earth. It's just you got to understand what's going on. Just cause there's a lot of stuff going on, you still gotta understand what it is.

There's a lot more great episodes and chapters you haven't seen yet, much more intense, but not in the DBZ kind of way. Its a lot of fun and I hope you don't quit Naruto.

Nah! I was not sayin that I was goin to quit on Naruto, that show has bben the best anime I've ever seen yet, though I only have gotten as far into the show when they FINALLY show Itachi.

I haven't gotten I guess to far into the show too see more epic battles.

I was just sayin about this cause I just don't wanna see this not happen to Naruto where it losses it's sanity, haha!
Believe me I luv the combat in the show, it's fantastic, though I do just hope that no one starts flyin maraculously and shootin Chakra from there hands LOL:p

Lol, I guess I got a bit worked up when you said that's why you quit Inuyasha (BTW, I don't watch it).

You're in for some great stuff. Catch the fillers and movies if you can (It's up to you).

I'm a bit worried about the flying and Chakra-shooting part... OK, they never fly, but they do move pretty fast in the trees, and Naruto does learn this (small SPOILER) orb move (he doesn't shoot it) that's from his hand....but those are really minor, don't worry about them.:D

sometimes, its like dbz... like the chuunin exams that were either intanse or short.... but at least it doesnt take them 5 episodes to screw in a lightbulb ><

It doesn't take DBZ or Naruto 5 episodes to screw in a lightbulb.

Naruto, no...

DBZ, I have to disagree. I seem to remember in the Frieza arc, when Frieza did the blast that would destroy Namek in 5 minutes, and each 30 minute episode was the result of 1 minute of fighting. Come on. I know that it's good to be intense sometimes, but stretching out that much over 5 episodes? And even then, I remember that he defeated Frieza with, like, 1 minute to spare, then he took 30 seconds to find the ship, then another 30 seconds to find the other ship, and get out alive..... That was too much for 6 episodes....

Yeah I agree. DBZ went way overboard with how long it took them to resolve something. I mean each ep was like 5 mins in their time. it was ridiculous.

Tha's too exaggerated. If xxjGohanxxj still goes here, he can explain in detail about this since he's a DBZ Expert but don't you think it'd be dull if it took an actual 5 minutes for that episode for the 5 minutes Frieza had to blow up the world?

The reason why it's seems like it's goin' in that direction is because the main characters are gettin stronger. Regardless of how strong Naruto or the others have been they'll still get dropped quick by their teachers. Though the pseudo Gai/Lee fight kinda confuses me. If you think about DBZ in math terms its more exceptable to "believe' their power. Like Vegeta has a PL of 18,000 and can blow up a planet; it wouldn't be hard to believe that a person with a PL in the millions could do it with their pinky finger. Or it it the whole bodies goin threw brick thing gettin ya? You have people breakin bricks with their bare hands and havin bodies so tough (through some kind of training) it'll bend a sword or metal wire. In the DBZ universe they'll have a PL of like 10 just for being a lil above average humans.

Well Masashi Kishimoto(Naruto Creator) was a big Dragonball fan, maybe he added some DB elements on purpose?

Naruto=no where near DBZ.

If you like two things and they're both manga, that doesn't mean they have to be similar.

I think that Naruto is like DBZ in the sense of the characters withstanding certain amount of damage. For example at one point Sasuke super-piledrived Naruto off of a 50 foot cliff. Mind you, he went head first into the ground(which was solid rock) and was still able to fight for about another episode. Then again, that's Naruto and his stamina/kyubi powers. As opposes to DBZ though, the fights are well choreographed instead of light speed flurrys of punches and kicks

Suprisingly what reminded me of dbz most was when Rock Lee revealed he wore weighted clothing, mindyou, in that sense Naruto surpassed dbz in impossiblity. Dbz only used that as a training machanism once, and Goku wore reasonable size weights. (Maybe 100lbs I think.) Rock meanwhile seemed to have two-ton straps on by the way they pummled the pavement when they fell and shook the earth.

based on the episodes i saw i think the battle with rock lee and gaara was good...but i didn't see the end!! who won? and i think naruto needs to chill with the powers for a little bit.

Gaara won by default. Gai stopped Gaara from killing Lee.
