but can you trade between the two games? Also I seem to remember something about a way to trade eggs from the game....

I don't think so. In RPG games, you usually stay with the stuff in the game, no trading etc etc.

Hmm... Serebii says there's a sort of password system for getting more pokemon added to the different versions.

serebii says there are boss battles, so it's a given that you fight. and check some of the boss characters! you get to fight every single legendary/uber there is so far...

This is pretty late and everyone who has the game probably knows this but you CAN trade. With items. I'm pretty sure you can't with Pokemon.
