Soem underrated cards are:
Meanae the Thorn
Sacred Phoenix of Nephtys
Trap Dustshoot
Reflect Bounder
Each of the cards can be used either as tech or as a whole deck, and each works pretty well. (I'd know, as I've tested each one.)
P.S. What card shop was the tournament at that you won?

In that case, you most definately didn't win a tournament with an Aitsu deck. There are way too many good players there.

there are too many over looked cards, for example, shadow spell, great trap, once they flip a monster like mask of darkness, chain, shadow spell, he is stuck in attack mode with only 200 attack points.
Another, the tribute helper cards:
Soul Exchange
trojan horse
angler fish
kaiser seahorse
so on
king of the swamp
card destruction
shadow of eyes
remove trap
de-spell
Seven Tools of the Bandit
Trap Jammer
Spell Shield Type-8
Gilasaurus
Bottomless Trap Hole
Nobleman of Extermination
Morphing Jar #2 (he's a great replacement for Cyber Jar)
Swords of Concealing Light (who's got tramples?)

actually, De-Spell and Remove Trap are still garbage, not underappreciated...
De-Spell only hits spells, so it'll bounce off a trap, and anyone who knows what they're doing will just activate thier quickplay...it's only good for continuous spells, or bluffs
and remove trap'll only hurt a G-bind deck (hah! not likely) and destroy Royal Decree...remember; it's gotta be a faceup trap card...
on that note, Bait Doll's very underappreciated...it only hits a facedown, but it destroys any situational trap (Torrential, Saku, Mirror Force) and can hinder any non-situational one (Solemn Judgement, RFTDD) PLUS, it recycles itself aftter activation, unless it's negated.
also;
Pharaoh's Treasure (controlled draw),
Upstart Goblin (thinning power, Megamorph setup),
Convulsion of Nature (you can plan around your next turn),
Guardian Kay'est (tribute fodder, Smashing Ground lure, comboes amazingly with Spirit Barrier),
Giant Germ (burn, swarm, and Necrofear fodder),
Relinquished (can survive a killing hit, deals recoil damage),
Burning/Freezing Beast (dispelling power)
Decayed Commander/Zombie Tiger (hand control, swarm)
Vanilla monsters in general (they have decent support)
Cybernetic Magician (good attack, makes murderous scapegoats)
Field cards (everyone's still in thier Light/Dark habits, run Gaia Power!)
Spatial Collapse (if you manage your cards well enough)
there's plenty more, but I'm too lazy to think of 'em all...
