i was wondering ever since the sand raccon demon dude got beaten up by naruto, is gaara free of it or does he have better control over it since its been eating away at me of this question...

Okay. Read the title. Sorry if it's old news, but Gaara actually dies in the manga, but gets revived back to life with Naruto and an old woman (forgot name). Temari and Kankuro now are Jounins, so they should be leading their own group of 3 like Kakashi.

Even if Naruto beats it up, it doesn't just go away. If Gaara beats the fox-demon up, will it just dissapear?

But Gaara becomes a lot nicer since he learns friends makes yo ustrong. I was expecting something like this, but it was way too early for my liking.

Gaara *will* become Kazekage in the English manga, after a LONG time, when Naruto II comes out in English.

If you don't want to wait, you can ask people around here for spoilers, or look on the main site (the new featured writers might be doing pieces on unreleased manga). There are translations out there, but they're illegal, so we really can't tell you more. Best to rely on the main site, or Wikipedia (lots of spoilers there, now that I think of it).

he never loses it because it's not provided by the shukaku, it's fueled by his mother's love or something to that effect

Akatsuki must have taken it from him before/after extracting Shukaku, though for what reason I have no idea.

Have you even read the entire thread, or the spoilers? Read them and you will find just how wrong you are there.

Although all this begs another interesting question. Will Gaara ever be able to use the techniques that rely on his gourd? (i.e. all of them) I know that he probably won't be able to use Sand Shield but what about other jutsu such as Sand Armor and Desert Funeral?

No. He still has his techniques. He can still control sand, I think.

I have no idea. But if Gaara wasn't as strong as he is, then how can he be the kazekage? He was strong enough with the gourd, but now without the gourd, I guess he will be on the same standards as his brother and sister.

The sand shield is not provided by the shukaku, it is provided by the essence of his mother. The automtaic defense is still there, his ability to control sand is prolly weakened without the shukaku though. Also, gaara can extract sand from the ground around him.

If you'll remember, his gourd is made out of sand. So, assuming his prowess at sand manipulation has dramatically decreased with the loss of Shukaku, he may not have enough chakra to form a gourd anymore.
The sand shield is not provided by the shukaku, it is provided by the essence of his mother.
That's probably just some BS explanation Yashamaru gave Gaara so he wouldn't feel so lonely. I highly doubt dead people can interact with the living to that extent in the Naruto universe.

I think its too much of a Harry Potter thing with the mother giving the son a superior defense by sacrifising her life. I'm pretty sure the Shikabu did the Shield since otherwise, it wouldn't have done anything but increase his chakra.

Hey it wouldn't be the first similarity I've seen that relates to harry potter.

Orochimaru reminds me of Lord voldemort everytime i see him (Snake eyes,Paleskin,obsessed with snakes etc...

The curse mark is kinda like the dark mark from hp and orochimaru's followers are like death eaters.

And families that carry a blood trait (such as The Uchiha and hyuga clans) are like the So Called "purebloods" of harry's world

I guess that would make Naruto like the Harry potter of the story

Wow, it is. But actually most of the stuff yo usaid are definitely very vague similarities, so they aren't as similar. For example, Curse Seal is bite into the person, Dark mark is sent into the sky to signal. Genkai Kakkaii Clans are shunned while purebloods aren't.

But I sometimes think of Orochimaru as Voldemort too. He's what I imagined him to look like before I got into Naruto and read HP.

They took away the gourd because Sasori and Deidara didn't feel like carrying it around with Gaara. Isn't kinda simple?

And I'm pretty sure that the Sand Shield is from the Shukaku, the "protection from his mother thing" was meant to be symbolic, not literal.
