DBZ is still #1 to me, but Naruto is the only thing on that I like to watch as far as anime goes right now. It has many elements like character and story that are very important to me. The animation even though a few years old can be sick at sometimes, and the manga is just fun to read.

So how about you?

I don't read Naruto but I do watch it. I like the Anime because its not just your regular "Samurai/Ninja Bloody Fest." There is actually a well written out story to it. Plus, Itachi is just freakin' cool.

The anime is good because there is a variety of characters, and ninja stuff is just what I really like.

The Zabuza arc, was what got me into it, excellent characters, serious backgrounds and good action....it was kinda sad for it go off towards the DBZ style at the end of Part 1, with "my power up is better than yours" kinda thing. Part 2 is starting to get better so its still a good show.

Hmm...why do I watch...(well in my case I mainly read it)...?

Well I just am attracted to the look of the characters and feel of the plot. Some of my friends acuse me of being an "Anime softy" becuase I like pretty much all of the anime I've seen...except one...but that doesn't count.

It highly reminds me of a cross between DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Ruroni Kenshin. There's big fights and all this "power up" stuff like DBZ, one on one tourney's which were the best part of Yu Yu, and the whole seriousness now and then of Kenshin.

Because it's the best anime/manga right now, not counting fillers.

What really gets me about it is the wide variety of characters. There are so many, each with unique, interesting goals, talents, etc. The variety makes it a good read.

"Anime softy"

Watching Naruto does not make your an "Anime softy." I can take a guess and probably be right about what kind of anime they watch, but I am not going to go there. Movies/tv/comics/books they are all personal decisions, and comments like that are to be taken personally imo. If you like Naruto watch it, enjoy it. Take no crap for it either.

This could be the best anime I've ever watched...all of the characters are great in their own way....the storyline is awesome....DBZ was the first anime I really got into and Naruto is now taking its place....the reason I watch it is because I found out about it reading Shonen Jump every month :)

Well, let's put it this way:

Who DOESN'T like ninjas, battling, revenge, angst, murder, affairs and death all wrapped up into one little half-an-hour show about 200-somethin' times?

Naruto combines creative fantasy action, a "ninja" premise, a medieval touch, a modern feel, specific and general goals, quite a bit of humor, and intense character development. All that makes it an excellent, riveting story.

Kinda similar to what Darth Payne said, the character variety is what makes the stories interesting. In DBZ, the plot only ever seemed to revolve around a few characters at any given time, plus Tien, Yamcha etc. never got any spotlight especially in the later sagas, because of the obvious favoritism with Goku, Vegeta etc. I have watched about 80 episodes of Naruto since I got into it last month, and the variety is what makes it so fresh. Any match up imaginable within reason can be interesting.

I read it waiting for orochimaru's impending court date..whenever that may be....

No, but really, I just watch it cause it's a decent manga/anime(say no to drugs a.k.a. filler arc's), but right now the manga is slipping, but it's bound to pick up again. It's just that between sasuke's new look, and mr.kishimoto never explaining how chakra manipulation works to make "shadow" jutsu, everything seems out of wack.

To tell you the truth, I didn't read it at first. My first Shonen Jump I bought because you get a Limited Edition card inside. When I had Shonen Jump, I started out just reading some of everything. It was far into the manga, so I didn't understand most of what was going on in SJ except Hikaru No Go since it just started (That SJ) and Yugioh (Who didn't watch at least one episode?). I bought a few more SJ and branched into DBZ (Watched that too but it was behind next to the Anime...I still never read the manga before). One Piece was VERY interesting and I got pulled into that. Then Shaman King came (Yeah!) and YuYuHakusho. Last, came Naruto. Pretty soon, I read every manga book that has come out in America and branched out to others (For example, FMA). With the manga released so slow, I came into the Internet searching for them. I now read updated Naruto manga and anime (ugh, youtube translations...) I'm searching for Shaman King and YuYuHakusho and FMA Japanese updated manga. How I came by Pojo is a different story.
