Here's a team that utilises the mix of Sunny Day + Solarbeam.
Houndoom w/ Charcoal
-Crunch
-Solarbeam
-Flamethrower
-Sludge Bomb
Meganium w/ Miracle Seed
-Solarbeam
-Ingrain
-Leach Seed
-Giga Drain
Exeggutor w/ Salac Berry
-Solarbeam
-Psychic
-Light Screen
-Synthesis
Cradilly
-Solarbeam
-Sunny Day
-Ancientpower
-Sludge Bomb
Groudon
-Solarbeam
-Eruption
-Earthquake
-?????
Ludicolo
-Rain Dance ??? (to make use of his ability?)
-Sunny Day
-Solarbeam
-Leech Seed
Any suggestions for more Grass types would be appreciated.
What do you think? Is this a viable strategy?

Give Castform Flamethrower instead of WeatherBall. And for his last move give him something that can cover his weakness, like Thunderbolt.

For Beautifly's last move, teach it it something to counter Fire, Fire wold Demoish this team in less then 5 turns.
Or Meganuim, teach it Earthquake to counter Fire
Also, mind taking a look at my Emerald Team in my Sig?

a simple addition would Groudon, just send him out for a sunny day and a direct hit right away with solar beam! But if it's only grass then add Tropius and Ludicolo (sorry, got the thought from Elk), perhaps either Shiftry or Cacturn as well

I never thought of Groudon. By no means is this an all-grass team, just a team of Pokemon able to use Solarbeam and Sunny Day to good effect. I've added Ludicolo and Groudon to the line up. Ludicolo, Groudon and Cradilly give me a simple resistance to Fire-type attacks, and Cradilly and Castform work well against Flying-types. Can anyone suggest other moves for these Pokemon? I don't like the idea of having Castform know Solarbeam, Flamethrower AND Thunderbolt. It just seems as though I should focus mroe on what Castform is good at, which wouold be Fire and water really (in case of Rain Dance).

Castform:
Rain Dance
Thunder
Sunny Day
SolarBeam
does that work a little better?? Use PP Max or PP up (get as many as you can for Thunder and Solarbeam)

That's actually a pretty good idea. I might try something like that, yeah.

IMO that makes Castform to reliable on a Weather move being out.
Ingrain isn't that good, use Earthquake like somebody suggested.
If you don't like Beautifly, go with.....
Houndoom @ A good item
~Sunny Day
~Flamethrower
~Solar Beam
~Crunch
2 stabbed moves and Solarbeam can counter rock, ground, and water types.

What happens when a Fire pokemon comes along? Are Ludi and Groudon enough to save your team?
I guess if the goal was to just find pokemon that can use Solar Beam, then this is a pretty nice team!

He's got a point....Earthquake can stop fire types though.

Like I said, 1 Groudon isn't enough to win the whole match...

It's OK, Groudon is UBER and therefore not usable in Link-Up Battles, NetBattle or Tournaments. Oh and as your Ludicolo has Rain Dance try to get Thunder on to most of your team that can learn it.

Ok then, will do. Just so people know, I can't use this team in Netbattle tournaments, or anything like that. I live in England. We don't have those kinds of tournaments here. I just want a team like this for if the opportunity ever arises. Thanks for all your inputs.

Definnetly replace ludicolo with exegguotor if you have access to him. Ludi seems pretty dumb for this team.

Would you care to explain? Being a Water Type, Ludicolo isn't weak against any Fire attacks I may run into.

Ludi get used more in Rain-dance teams since it's swiftswim or Raindish don't work with sunny day. It's got good enough stats to warrant use, although sunny day weakens it's water moves too.. I too like tha idea of using Eggy. Mainly because Eggy gets multiple moves that work well with sunny day. And it gets Light screen! Light screen, Solarbeam, Psychic, and Synthesis would be a decent moveset for Eggy.
One thing I feel is necessary to point out is that being part Rock Cradily isn't weak to Fire. And Just go with Eggy over Ludi....

So, Light Screen is powered up by Sunny Day? I see where you're coming from there. Cradilly is on the team for that exact reason, and Ludi was there because I wasn't sure if only one pokemon would manage for all fire pokemon. That would be a decent moveset, and I might change it. Just tell me how effective Light Screen would be.

Eggy makes a very effective special sweeper with Sunny Day in effect, since Chlorophyll massively boosts it's speed. If you want a final non-grass Pokemon, go with Houndoom! Crunch, flamethrower, Solarbeam, (sludgebomb/roar)
Houndoom is like uber Solarbeamer.
Start with Groudon.

All opinions have been considered. Of course, if Houndoom learns Solarbeam, then he's an automatic add-in. I've kept Ludicolo in, but I've replaced Beautifly with Exeggutor.

Houndoom can get it via TM, or by breeding.
(Grass pokemon(m) with Solarbeam and sunny day)+Female Nuzleaf=Nuzleaf with Solarbeam and sunny day(m)
Nuzleaf(m)with solarbeam and sunny+Houndour(f)=houndour with Solarbeam and sunny day.
the hard part is getting a male grass pokemon with both moves.
