I'm about to go insane!!

For the past 4 hours I've been trying to get a Shiny Rayquaza, by continuously turning off the game, turning back on from the save point of a step away from it, and battling.

Is there any guarentee saying I will get it eventually? Do my chances change at all by turning off and on the game, since I believe it's like a 1 in 1850 chance or something like that.

Also, is there anyone who has a Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, or Deoxys that was obtained the legit way? If you could, please PM, because if you could make a copy of your using the Emerald glitch cheat, and trade my game, I could give you like a buck or so for helping out the poor and needy ^_^

If I remember correctly, it's a 1:8192 odds that you will get a Shiny Pokemon. I don't believe there is any guarentee of getting a Shiny Pokemon, but the odds do say that you should eventually encounter a Shiny Pokemon.
As for the Mew and other Pokemon, no I don't have them.

On a side note, why give them a dollar if you are "poor and needy"? :D

It takes A LOT of time. I don't bother, I have a more difficult goal:
All perfect ivs, right nature, and shiny
(1/31)^6 * (1/20) * (1/8192) = OMFG will this never end!

Give it up mate, the chanced of finding a shiney are really low and if you do happen to get one just ensure you dont kill it and have plenty of pokeballs.Jan

You're trying to legitly earn a Shiny Rayquaza? You can't legitly do that... since you have to use a gameshark/AR to capture more than 1 Rayquaza in the first place! You might as well use the shiny cheat as well.... :P

No, I havent caught Rayquaza yet, so I'm continuously turning on and off. I beat the game, except never got Rayquaza, I get easily sidetracked. Now, I have a goal!

Screw gameshark/AR, they ruin the point. Only reason I'd use it is so I could get mew or something, but I'm trying to find a nintendo event first. Whats the fun in a shiny pokemon if you cant tell people about how you wasted 2-3 days of your life trying to get a shiny

It took four straight days, but a friend of mine got black Raquaza. Just keep trying!

the only shiny pokemon i have encountered:
Blue girafarig (ran out of balls :()
Purple Drowzee (G/S, caught)
Golden Zapdos (friend traded from his Red version zapdos to Gold and it wound up shiny)
Yellow Bellsprout (friend caught it)
Red Gloom (caught this in Fire Red :D)

if i evolved Red Gloom to a vileplume, would she stay a shiny or lose it?
