when you counterattack from martys zone add 1 green energy
i use 2 in my jack sparrow deck and think it might help in tight spots where your low on green energy i mean its not a terrible card whats wrong with replenishing your green zone after all?
some may say his cost is a bit expensive but sometimes its worth it to get some green back
what better way to congratulate yourself when you counterattack then to get something back
so pojo'ers is this card a deal or a dud?

My wife has SPECIFICALLY requested that I not put ANY Marty's in any deck she uses. She's lost points more times than not when Marty comes up in your Red Zone. Any card that doesn't have that good of an effect AND costs a Red is not worth it.

but like i said its good for refreshing your green zone and sure it costs 1 red energy to play and red energy is hard to come by but if your willing to risk 1 red energy to play marty then good for you because look at how it happens
play marty
-1 red
flip a strike and pay for it
-(whatever the strike cost) +1 green
see you lost a red and thats all because most likely the strike you flip will be pretty cheap and then you will gain a green energy ^_^
besides who else would i use?

I can't help but chime in on the Marty issue from a diff. perspective. I've been looking for cards that add green to set off the Uncle Iroh rare chamber from Avatar (Rain of FIre-back). It lets me spend a green every time I don't like what my opponent flips, and forces him to flip again.
My goal is to constantly drain his energy while building my green, then burn through with Rain of Fire.
Marty's my man so far.

Far be it from me to cast aspersions on one of our own cards. Marty has a crazy good text box but he is a pricey tomato. His goodness is really all about how soon you get him out and so, how many times you use him. If you can use him 3 or more times and if he celebrates once or twice, well-done. If you pay a red for him and he is immediately eliminated, not so good. So get Marty out early and send him home late.

Well, the great thing about Rain of Fire is the front strike 'Unchained,' which lets me look at the top two and replace in any order. Plus Iroh's Mind trait allows me to throw in Monkey Business, which was made to get Marty out early. This also helps all the Jojo's I'm aching to get out, which add even more green.

Yerkamig,
Sounds like you're on the right path. How often do you have Marty out there doing a lot of work for you? Beware the spirit decks...:)

Well, along with Monkey Business I like the advantages 'Ready for Anything,' 'Pai Sho Mastery,' and 'Roku's Guidance' to help cycle.
The 'Dragon' strikes help cycle too (Teeth, Breath, and Tongue).
So far I've been seeing at least one of all my allies pretty fast, including Pirate Captain.
