Brick Break can be easier to use than Focus Punch for a Fighting-type attack, as it doesn't require prediction.

Go with what CM said, but for a Flying attack, you might want to consider Aerial Ace, and Steel Wing isn't that bad of a Steel-Type move. Solarbeam is also a pretty good Gras-Type move since Sunny Day cancels out the charge-up turn; Brick Break and Cross Chop have a tendency to be better than Focus Punch (except on a Poke'mon with Substitute). Also, any Bug attack that does damage (except Leech Life, Pin Missile, Fury Cutter and Twineedle), Dragon Claw, Return, and Crunch are good attacks of their respective types. For an extensive amount of information, go here (http://www.serebii.net/games/battle.shtml). Just look down at about over than half the page.

It really depends on the pokemon...

my team (not the best, of course) has movesets suggested by many other users... like Hellian.

Kingdra @ leftovers
Surf
Ice Beam
Rain Dance
Twister/Body Slam

Houndoom @ focus band
Crunch
Flamethrower
Sludge Bomb
Hidden Power (HP) Grass

Aerodactyl @ choice band/king's rock
HP Ghost/Flying
Aerial Ace
Rock Slide
Dragon Claw/Double Edge(only use that if you've got rock head ability)

Metagross @ leftovers
Explosion
Thunderpunch
Meteor Mash
Earthquake

Salamence @ choice band/king's rock
Dragon Claw
HP Flying
Earthquake
Rock Slide

Skarmory @ leftovers
Toxic
Spikes
Roar
Steel Wing

Behind the moves, you need strategy...

Kingdra's special ability is Swift Swim, so never have one without Rain Dance. Swift Swim doubles Kingdra's speed when it's raining. Rain Dance also powers up surf, and surf is already powered up because of the STAB, and ice beam is to take out any dragons. Twister(STAB)/Dragonbreath(STAB)/Body Slam's there cuz I can't think of anything else.

Houndoom has low defenses, high speed, and high attacks. Hit and run, basically. Come in as a special sweeper when you aren't afraid to fight with lower defense. Crunch and Flamethrower get a STAB, because he's a dark/fire type. HP Grass can take care of pesky ground types and rock types that murder Houndoom's fire side. Sludge Bomb works wonders, it's the strongest poison move.

Aerodactyl's high speed and high attack make it ideal for the physical sweeper, but watch out for electricity! Rock Slide, HP ghost/flying(just the flying part for here), and Aerial Ace all get a STAB. Dragon Claw is just a little trick I wanted to throw in, because my aerodactyl's bs (it's ability is pressure). Use Double-Edge if your Aerodactyl's ability is rock head.

Metagross is a tank. Pure tank. People use it a lot, and it's high defenses are admired. BAD weaknesses though! Ground and Fire. Moves-Explosion works really well with it's high attack, but be careful! Replace with Ice Punch or Thunderpunch if you like. Thunderpunch is on mine just because I want an electric move. Replace with Psychic(STAB) if you like. Earthquake is a staple on Metagross, take advantage of its high attack, and Earthquake's really good, period. Meteor Mash is a STAB, and is really strong. Metagross' ability, clear body, prevents stat reductions. THAT HELPS!

Salamence is also extremely powerful, really high attack, aight defenses and special attack, good speed. His ability, Intimidate, cuts the foe's attack upon Salamence's entry. That helps, of course! Dragon Claw is a STAB move, and it's powerful already. HP Flying takes advantage of the high attack and it's a STAB. Rock Slide and Earthquake take advantage of the high attack as well.

Skarmory! Everyone's favorite bird. Abilities are Early Bird and Keen Eye, mine has Keen Eye, which prevents accuracy loss. That helps, especially with the strategy I use. High defense is also incredible (I'm still training my team... my lvl 42 skarmory already has the highest defense of all my pokes besides my metagross... metagross is 68, so is salamence.). Good attack, great type, although weak to fire, and aight speed. Flying's weaknesses are Rock and Electric. Electric still murders 'mory, but rock just hits it normally, because of the steel typing. Steel's weaknesses are ground and fire, and ground misses because 'Mory's a flier. Fire and Electric, common types, but oh well. Moves! Spikes takes away some health when a new poke switches in, unless they're flying or have the ability Levitate... or they use rapid spin. Steel Wing gets a STAB. Strategy-lay down 3 spikes. Toxic poison the opponent. Roar. Toxic the next poke. Roar, Toxic the next poke, and so on. They're all poisoned, badly, they've all got like 1/5 health off right away, and Skarmory's still standing. Steel wing away, or switch in something stronger to kill em all(Metallica!)

I also do have a Blaziken that's in my PC...

Blaziken @ scope lens
Blaze Kick(STAB, high critical hit rate enhanced with scope lens)
Sky Uppercut(STAB)
Thunderpunch
Seismic Toss

Strategy? none. just attack.

Moves are equally important in double battles... because moves like Earthquake affect EVERYONE on the field besides you. Be careful what you use! with my team, as a start off I'd have out Skarmory and Metagross. Metagross can earthquake away, cuz skarmory won't get hit by it. Skarmory will just use it's basic spikes/toxic/roar thing.

When they're out, just bring in whatever you think has the best type advantage. Be careful though... Gyarados is a really well used Pokemon, and he doesn't have a single attack (when a good battler uses him) that is of his type, Water... Most Gyaradoses have Earthquake, Dragon Dance, and i don't know the other 2 moves, but they're odd for him.

Basically, it depends on these key factors-

1. What is your team's purpose? Battling other PEOPLE? Battling in TOURNAMENTS? Battling IN-GAME?
2. What are your type advantages and disadvantages?
3. Is your team well balanced? tanks, annoyers, sweepers, etcetera, all need to be there. My team... Skarmory's a tank/annoyer. Salamence is a sweeper. Houndoom is a Hit and Run sweeper. Aerodactyl is a Sweeper. Metagross is a tank/sweeper. Kingdra's a sweeper.
4. Are you overusing the STAB-meaning, does your Charizard have a moveset that looks like this-

Charizard @ Charcoal (Never use those, for Charizard i suggest lefties.)
Flamethrower
Fire Blast
Fire Spin
Blast Burn

If that's your Charizard (or whatever), you'd get murdered.

You have to choose carefully!
5. do you have a strategy that involves all of them?

Depending on that, you may have a Sharpedo with Crunch, Surf, Taunt, and Swagger, or that same Sharpedo with Slash, Focus Energy, Scary Face, and Crunch.

-Life is like a box of chocolates. I hate chocolates.-

...of course, I just started learning stuff like this a few weeks ago. I could be wrong.

Hope that helped...
