Having Trouble with Vulpix...

I finally got a male Vulpix with Hypnosis and a Female Vulpix with Heatwave...but they won't pass both moves off to the baby. Can somebody help me out here? The baby Vulpixes always come out with Hypnosis Ember and Tail Whip...

Heat Wave isn't a HM/TM move, hence both parents need to know it to pass it onto the child.

I think that the male one must have both Heatwave and Hypnosis or both parents must have those same moves to pass it down to its child.

Generally the male passes on the moves onto the egg pokemon, if the male cannot pass it on then either both of them need to know the attack or its not possible. however if the female knows that attack it means that the male can also learn it and then pass it on.Jan

Well, I've given up on it for now. I've tried it several different ways, but I can't get a vulpix to have both. It either gets Hypnosis or Heatwave, Whichever the father has...grrrrr. Oh well, there went my Perfect Ninetales dream...
