Hey everyone. I had gotten a school assignment to write a super-hero story, and after writing it I decided, "Hey, why not post it here?" This is more-or-less along the lines of a "Spider-Man" type story, but there is no plagiarism, all my ideas. So tell me if ya like, I'd love to hear from you. (NOTE: This is a short-story, there will most likely be no sequel. I may (don't count on it) change my mind if I get a lot of replies though, so if you like please say so.)

Elementor versus The Speed Demon

The scene is one of utmost terror in Maui, Hawaii, as one of the greatest and largest volcanoes on all of the islands of Hawaii had erupted. The sky had become a darkened gray despite it being noon, and shouts and screams could be heard from all directions. If it wasn’t for one source of light the island would be shrouded in darkness; that source of light was the bright, almost neon volcanic magma slithering down the steep sides of the volcano, swallowing everything in its path. Panic had stricken the island of Maui, in a catastrophe with one equal: Pompeii.

Once the bright red magma had been seen, there was no looking back. You would just run and run and run until you could find yourself on safe land. No one dared look at what was behind them, it was just full speed ahead, allowing the perfect moment for one creature to escape from the lava. This creature happened to be called "The Speed Demon," leader of a group of volcano-dwelling devils. His appearance, no matter how odd, could be described in one word: intimidating. Despite his look of "intimidation," you wouldn’t believe it until you felt his stare. This creature was no larger than a six-year-old child, topping the charts at around four feet. Don’t be fooled though! His gaze could petrify many a human through his narrowed, blood-red eyes. His eyes weren’t the only thing red, his skin was overlapping as well as red, forming what looked like solid blood. His feet formed a claw, gripping the ground allowing him to be propelled at fast speeds.

This creature, the Speed Demon, had crawled out of the top of the volcano despite the ignorance of the victims of the island. It’s short body was ready to be launched at extreme swiftness, but he did not have a muscular build. Despite his weakness, he darted forward at the nearest on-looker of the volcano, a strange man who did not seem afraid of the magma at all. He wasn’t running, and he had no trace of fear in his eyes. The Speed Demon reached him, and gave a piercing glare through his narrowed, evil eyes. The victim of the stare, returned it back without a look of any fear, but amazingly a small chuckle. This man then stated in what was a deep voice, "You think looking at me could cause The Elementor to be afraid?" He then leaped what was unnaturally high into the air, did a barrel-roll, and threw off his "business-like" clothing, revealing a multicolor suit. Red, yellow, and blue streaks of intertwined lightning flashed down his otherwise light yellow shirt. His arm sleeves were both pure red, and his pants were dark blue. It could be said that the man was a sore thumb, and would stick out anywhere; this would be true. His appearance had an extremely odd look, and this was without describing his face. It was concealed in a mask, but staying true to his "colors" it was split into thirds of red, yellow, and blue. The mask revealed only his blue eyes and red mouth, showing no hair or ears. "Feel the power of ice!" the Elementor shouted in his deep, masculine voice. He then quickly sent his hand straight out, perpendicular to his body, and released what was a great, light blue beam of light. As his name implies, the Speed Demon’s great speed easily dodged the laser of light, in a quick dash to the left. The blue beam of light connected with a boulder where the Speed Demon formerly was, casing it in ice.

The Speed Demon announced joyously in a taunting and scratchy voice, "Can’t c’tch up with this stuff can ya?" The Speed Demon then broke into a run, allowing him to only be seen as a blur of redness. The fiend circled around the odd-looking super-human, attempting to make him dizzy or to find a chance to attack. After several revolutions around the Elementor, the Speed Demon found an opening and made a quick strike in the side of the super-hero.

Quickly the Elementor turned around and swung his fist at the Speed Demon, yelling, "Feel the fury of lightning!" His fist flashed in a yellow light, with electrical surges swimming around his hand. The fist, as once previously had happened, did not catch up with the elusive Speed Demon and punched another boulder, breaking it easily in a bolt of lightning.

"Havin’ a li’l trouble now, are ya? Not so sp’cial now, eh?" the Speed Demon <pojo_ownz><pojo_ownz><pojo_ownz><pojo_ownz>ily spat out at the Elementor, who was now in a state of rising anger. Sensing the growing temper, the Speed Demon wanted to get it to increase as much as possible. He sped forward toward the angered man, causing the Elementor to throw a non-prepared punch.

"Witness the gift of FIRE!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. Hearing this, the Speed Demon seemed to surprisingly stop, as he was engulfed in surrounding flames. It was strange, very strange, because the unprepared punch could be dodged easily by the Speed Demon. Instead, he decided to feel the full blow.

It seemed a moment frozen in time, the Elementor, with his fist still flaming stood proudly with his chest in the air. In front of him was what appeared to be a small, skinny bush set on fire; only flames were visible. What appeared to be everlasting fire began to become smaller and less apparent until there were none left, revealing an unscathed demon. "Ya thought that fire would harm a dweller of a volcano? Y’re even dumber than I thought!" He then quickly dashed forward an punched the Elementor once again in the side, in the same spot he had been previously hit. This time, instead of shaking it off though, he quickly clutched his side in agony. "Startin’ to hurt, aren’t ya?" was the next taunt from the evil villain, before he dashed away into a circle around the Elementor once again.

Now, the Elementor did not know what to do. All three of his "signature powers" had been used against the Speed Demon, but all had failed. His right side continued to throb in pain, making it difficult to swap another blow. He then came to the conclusion of kicking, instead of punching. "Feel… my… FURY!" the hero yelled, as he began to jog at the Speed Demon’s path. He then jumped in the air, spun around, and attempted to throw a kick in a blur of blue. Once again it was unsuccessful, as the tiny Speed Demon easily flew under it. Once again angry, the Elementor did not move until the Speed Demon reached the same point, where in a now burst of yellow he swung another kick, this time lower. The Speed Demon was once again too fast, but this time he jumped up in the air and kicked the Elementor in the side once more. Now clutching his side in a state of extreme agony, he once again decided to try one more kick. The Speed Demon went into his odd revolution, then reached the Elementor where the tiny devil stopped, feeling the complete frenzy of the fire kick. It was as though the Speed Demon knew what was coming, because he picked the perfect kick to take the blow.

"You j’st don’t learn, do you Elemental, but hey, mind over matter they say… Let’s see how you fare on my turf," ridiculed the Speed Demon. Not understanding what the Speed Demon meant, the Elementor looked behind the tiny devil. It was a moment of terror for the superhero, as a great flood of lava was approaching them.

Quickly, the Elementor did the first thing that came to mind: ice. He rapidly fired ice beams at the Speed Demon, not caring if he missed. The Speed Demon easily dodged all of the lasers, but the Elementor didn’t care. An ice barricade had formed between the lava and the battle. "You think you’re so great, don’t you Elementor, but j’st ‘cause you don’t have to face lava doesn’t mean you don’t have to face me," stated the slightly maddened Speed Demon. He darted forward and side-stepped to the left, then the right, then the left again, trying to confuse the Elementor. This way and that, in and out sprinted the tiny devil until he approached the superhero. The Speed Demon jumped high into the air, over the Elementor, hit the ground and bounded back hitting the Elementor in the side once again. The superhuman screamed in agony then fell to the ground, grasping his side with a look of extreme distress on his face. He seemed too weak to continue… to carry on, until he made a decision: he would destroy the Speed Demon or die trying, and he wasn’t going to give in. He got onto his feet, although fragile, and prepared to send one final attack.

"FEEL THE POWER OF THE ELEMENTOR!" was heard all over the island of Maui, and the Speed Demon was slightly taken aback. One moment later, the Elementor stood with both hands outstretched with a fire in his eyes. "AAARGH!" he screamed in pain, releasing all of the power he could muster. A new power was released through his hands, combining the three elements. The familiar light blue beam of ice was seen in the middle, with electrical surges running through it. Forming a ring around this "electrical ice beam" was flames, hot red flames.

The Speed Demon was surprised, shocked more or less. He hadn’t been expecting a great surge of power like that, and wasn’t even able to move. He was hit by the great elemental beam in a great explosion of blue, yellow, and red. The blast lasted several seconds until it began to die down, leaving a pile of magma where the Speed Demon had once stood. The Elementor looked pleased with himself, and then set his mind on another task, sending the people to safety.

People had reached the edge of the island, and were beginning to get into boats trying to escape the volcanic eruption. In his mighty voice the Elementor yelled, "HOLD ON!" Every one looked back at the mighty deep voice, and saw the Elementor standing there. He slowly walked to the edge of the island, where he announced, "Do not be afraid, just wait one moment." He then sent a beam of ice along the ocean water, making a solid path between islands. Everyone walked across the ice, and once everyone was back to safety he melted the ice with a small punch of fire.

Now with everyone away from the island, he walked back to where his ice barricade was melting. He finished melting it, and began to run. The lava was gaining on him, as he was not a fast man. He continued running though until he knew he had no chance of sprinting to his safety. He released a beam of blue light on the ground, forming an ice path, onto which he dove. He was now skidding down the ice path, with no chance at the lava catching up to him. The Elementor once again released a laser of ice, performing a path from island to island once more. He skid across the ice path on his stomach, until he finally reached the other island. The Elementor stood up on the other island, and looked back seeing the lava melting the ice. The lava went into the water where it turned into steam, ending the volcanic eruption.

Everyone began thanking the Elementor for saving their lives, but he had only five words to say: "All in a day’s work."

Interesting, I wonder how you did.
