Something puzzles me, but it might mean nothing at all

Special Abilities
Unique (Counts as Emperor Palpatine)

What are they trying to imply here? Other than he is Palpatine, it makes no sense because there isn't another character in the Seperatist Group with "Emperor Palpatine" in his name.

Anyone have anything to say about this? Maybe he's useable in an Imperial Army, but doesn't say it.

In any event, its probably nothing. Probably just a specialty rule for if you go to one of those "Free-for-all" tournaments.

But they just do it so you know who it is.

What if you were playing the Light Side vs Dark Side varient? Then you could use Sepritists and Imperials in the same faction.

In that case, you couldn't use Darth Sidious-Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor Palpatine in the same army.

Woh, calm down there, man. Darth Sideous being Emperor Palpatine is what the entire conversation was about. First of all, DARTH SIDEOUS Dark Lord of the Sith is a sepratist, his name is NOT Emperor Palatine, Dark Lord of the Sith. I'm sorry if that point was the point of confusion for you, as then this is all a misunderstanding. We know two Darth Sideous's cant be used in the same army, thats not what this topic was about, which is why I deemed your first point useless. Furthermore, flaming me and using substiutes for curse words are against Pojo rules and if a MOD sees this, he will most likely delete your post or worse. Don't get angry, as it was most likely an understanding.

I don't know what you think I was in the additoinal comment, but I can assure you that you are wrong.

Toodles!

Wow, are u sure u aren't Canadian. Such a peacekeeper:p

As for the topic, I think that instead they should put next to Unique, "Counts as any Old Fart with wrinkles"

That way, there is no debate. Wait did he have wrinkles in the clone strike, I think so, just not as much as after the go with Windu.

It's a mix between his Clone Strike Piece, and his "RotS" counterpart, "Emperor Palpatine, Sith Lord".

His stats are:

Darth Sidious, Dark Lord of the Sith (61)
HP: 130
DEF: 19
ATK: +14
DMG: 20

Special Abilities
Unique
Melee Attack; Triple Attack

Force Powers
Force 2
Force Lightning (Force 2: 30 damage to 1 target and 2 adjacent targets)
Force Renewal 1
Lightsaber Sweep

Commander effect
Characters in your squad with a force rating can spend this characters force points. (Can't combine with own force points, and can't spend points more than once in a round).

In a way, its a major upgrade from his counterparts... however, he lacks order 66, which isn't bad, but it woulda been cool.

If you ever need to find out about pieces, try swShoebox.com

It has it's very own unit browser, and it gets its updated about half a week after a set is released.

Sideous, DLoS is bad, and that's all I'm going to say about it.

They have a review for it on Pojo.com if you wanna check that out.

I don't think he's really ALL that bad, he is certainly a costly piece, and while he won't be winning any 100 point battles by himself (with Bane and Vader, JH winning most of the meta games for that), I think that he is still a good piece non the less, especially if you can back him up with some other sith characters (2 Dark Side Acolytes for 100 point battles, and a Dark Maul of your liking plus droid reinforcements for 200 point battles).

He's just very weak for a 61-costed piece. 19 defense? Please. He has less defense than nearly all 50-costed Jedi. Add that with only +14 attack (which is pretty low as far as 61-costing pieces go), an average 130 HP, and a Commander Effect with nearly no factional synergy at all and you have a very, very bad piece. True, you can use it with Tyranus, Maul, Adepts, or even Grevious in 200 point games but the question becomes: Do you really want to when a 200 pt. Droid army is simply better and more cost effective?

You think droids are good?

I guess they would be with the commander and droid officer hiding behind them.... wait, I run a stealth team with Xizor.....wait.....accurate shot.....

Oh, which brings me to an unrelated topic, how does a pure range team deal with X1 Viper Droids? I need suggestions, I have a thread showing my army on the first page.

Killer_Nacho

Droids are good, are at least better than the Sepretist Jedi, for sure.

General Grevious, SC + 1-3 Battle Driod Officer + Super Battle Droid Commander + X-1 Viper Droid and a few Super Battle Droids = a great army.

Who wouldn't want a +20 Double Attacker that does 30 damage a hit?

The only way you can be guarenteed to hit an X-1 Viper Droid with a pure ranged team is to move them adjacent to the X-1 Viper Droid. This is because the way it is worded, the X-1 Viper Droid does not get the bonus against nonmelee attacks, but instead nonadjacent attacks. This is the only way you can be sure not to be a target of the annoying Molecular Shielding ability. Of course for a Stealth Team, this is not usually the best idea. Then again, neither is shooting it. This is probally the best advantage the Droid army has over the Stealth-based army. The X-1 can deal ALOT of damage, without even attacking!

You make some valid points with Sidious, however, if you can get him in a corridor that forces your opponent to pile his characters up to get in, then you can Force Lightning for some serious damage to 3 targets a turn, so if you put some Grevious Guard Droids around him, he should be able to reak some havoc.

Again, not the best piece, but he's one of my favorites. He is a little better than his CS piece, because he gets an attack and a better sith lightning, and while his commander effect isn't OMGWTFBBQ, you put a few seperatist Force users with him, and they can make some use of him.

Of course, he's not completely useless. But he isn't good, by any streches of the imagination. And might I remind you that a good player wouldn't clutter his droids next to eachother if they were playing Sideous-Dark Lord of the Sith.
