Discuss the event here. Going to give this a try and see if it encourages more people to come to this forum

Ivey FTW.

I'm interested in the 50k HORSE tournament. Should be some good action.

I think everyone who is really into poker is intrested in that event. I swear if ESPN doesn't cover it I am going to be so mad..But it doens't matter since Final Table is goign to be Holdem, which I think is VERY stupid..

BTW, like on August 10th, except me to like not be on becuase going to be watching final table from home

Congrats on my man Helmuth for his 11th bracelet,no record tying this year-Those n00bs Brunson and Chan busted out of the main event so they cannot compete with big Phil this year!

Congrats to Freddy Deeb Horse champ and best all around player of this year.

Also congrats to Jeff Lisandro winning his first bracelet at this years WSOP,long time in the making for a true player!

Go Paul Wasicka, prove to the world you are better then the field including that n00b Jamie Gold!!! Also,Paul is from here in COLORADO!!! Go Paul!!!

Why do people put so much hype into the HORSE event? Honestly I think its wrong, because the most known names of poker whine about supposedly not having an event to themselves that they get a $50,000 buy in event just so the average money player doesn't spend the money to enter. Big name players already have the tournament of champions each year, so why should they get an additional event, just because they are who they are.

The HORSE event is a prestigious event that requires being good at all types poker. Even if you could enter it, you probably wouldn't have a chance. And the $50,000 buy-in actually provides an high-stakes buy-in tourney (for these guys) to play in.

The Tournament of Champions is an invitational, but the HORSE is open to any one. A lot of pros consider it to be the true main event.

he's too short stacked. Phillips is gonna roll the table

He is indeed short stacked and Phillips has the chips but I like to route 4 the underdog from time to time. Chino is also a "showperson". He makes watching the event more entertaining. If Chino goes out in a blaze (quite possible early on) I'd likely route for Phillips next.

maybe I shouldn't bumping a 3 week old thread, but here I go ;)

I am not 21 yet, so obv I won't be there, although it won't stop me from taking shots at multiple packages so yeee-ah :D

WSOP 2009 Predictions
-an amateur will win
-at least 2 people will get past top 45 that shouldn't even be there, as it was in 2008's ME. (C. Dragomir, N. Losev)
-some pro will be playing flawlessly and sucked out on near the final table, it will be televised and will be highlight of the ME. (they go bust)
-my unclaimed WSOP package will result in an empty seat and result colludaments for my stack.
-a hot girl in their 20's will make the final table *tiffany michelle*

tiffany michelle was a horrible player and had a ****ty attitude. she doesn't make it by day 1.

Dragomir rode a day 3 win streak and big stack poker into the top 45. When you get hit one too many times it'll happen. Losev sucked.

Additional Comment:

yes I have 500 dollars. I always bet on sure things

she played well. she got sucked out on.

Anyone who calls the clock on a hand they're not in deserves to lose on day 1 everytime.

When did she get sucked out on? If it was her 88 losing the the rivered A, by that guys A5 for half her stack, then yes, but she slowly got back to stack by day 3.

I meant her opponent sucked out on her, not the other way around
