What do you guys think is the best card you can open in your packs while your drafting?
Personally, I think Glare of Subdual is the best Ravnica card to open, Debtors' Knell the best in Guildpact, and Simic Sky-Swallower or Demonfire from Dissension.

yeah, glare, knell, SSS.
glare = you win in like 2 turns.
knell = you win quickly (depends on how late game it is)
SSS = you win if they can't stop it; which they probably can't.

glare is easily the #1 pick for all of ravnica block, even though glimpse used to be a close second in RRR

yeah definatly glare for rav, although flame fusilage is right up there to, as anyone who has ever drafted it will tell you. so is gleancrawler, cause then you just WIN combat.
GUildpact has debtors knell, and skeletal vampire. Honestly i sort of like the vampire better, because its SO much harder to kill, and once it comes online GG, whereas if there are no good targets knell is underpowered. Ghost council is also quite rediculous if you can support it. those three WERE my deck at the GP prerelease...best deck ever
for dissension, SSS is the nut high. nothing to it.

For RGD draft, this is fairly easy...
RAV: Glare. You see this, you take it, if only to prevent others from grabbing it.
GP: Knell. It edges out Skeletal Vampire, because if they can quickly respond to the bat tokens, then the Vampire is just another 3/3 flier. If you can support the Ghost Council, it is also quite mean. This is the one set from the block where I could see an argument for any of those three.
DIS: SSS, no question. You cast it, then 95% of the time, you're going to win. People just cannot deal with the beasts' size, evasion & untargetability and there isn't much mass removal in Limited, so...

I'd be tempted to pick Savage Twister over Debtor's Knell. If I'm in neither colour I'd hate draft the Twister over the Knell. If I'm in both (I often play BGR) I'd also take the Twister. If I'n not playing red or green but am playing black and white (and my usualy path is BRW) I'd take the Knell, but I'd regret passing the Twister.
Knell can be played around; it takes an age to drop and you still have a few turns to win before the situation becomes hopeless. Twister resets the game for you.

Oops, forgot the Twister. Yeah, that's really good too.

Well these cards aren't first picks, but they are cards I think are very good but often overlooked
Loaming Shaman ... the 3/2 for 3 is decent and the effect can work miracles for Limited (at least in my experience)
Momir Vig ... You have got to try this in Limited - INSANE
Savage Twister ... Gotta love this card - Simply Amazing
but I have to agree with everyone else on this one, the BEST picks are by far
Glare of Subdual
Debtor's Knell
Simic Sky Swallower

Yeah, simic sky swallower in draft is friggin insane. Another non-broken, yet very good card i've seen do well in draft would have to be the burning-tree shaman. It just kills, cause most draft creatures will set off the 1 damage effect he grants.

well angel of despair.. my friend drafted her in his guildpack and won the tourny cause he dropped it at least once every game with someone.. a 5/5 is pretty hard to get rid of.. and it kills there biggest creature..

I had a bizarre draft last night... I'd decided to go G/U/W based on 1st pick Blazing Archon, 2nd Pick Pollenbright. Horribly akward colours, I know, I didn't win. Anyhow, Guildpact went like this:
1st - Stomping Ground
2nd - Angel of Despair (I saw what the guy took instead, Streetbreaker Wurm)
3rd - something green I think
4th - Living Inferno (how this got past the Wurm guy I'll never know).
I ended up splashing red for the Inferno. Going Selesnya is always a huge risk.

Rav: Glare is pretty nice. I might pick other bombs over it.
GP: I don't agree with everyone's pick of Knell on this one. It just takes a little while to get out. Then...what...you get your opponent's bears and ****? Its ok. Just not the nut.
D: That is SSS. I'm sorry, but for draft this card should read, "I win", barring you not getting outswarmed. Rakdos (the Defiler) can just about do that too.
