View Full Version : ways to slow the game down so the big baddies can hit

right now i'm thinking of ways i slow down the game some to that at Least i can have Apocalypse can hit the board. I don't have a deck yet but i have 2 cards that can slow the game down Political Pressure and Puppet Master. Maybe not so fast for those cheap good plot twists so anything got any ideas throw them here

it is a nice way but it slows you down to and i want to last for the long run

Check Pojo's Marvel homepage, and you should find a deck made by IQ called "Great Balls of Fire." It is centered around using Gamma Bomb on turn 7 (by having Latveria and Beast on the field) to clear the field and last until turn 8 or 9 (when Apocalypse/Onslaught can seal the game for you).

His deck uses things like Puppet Master, Swift Escape, and Gamma Bomb to either exhaust the opponent's monsters before they can attack, or just flat out destroy them (PM can be Swift Escape'd, then re-Recruited, if you have enough Resource Points to do that in the same turn - good for exhausting the opponent's attackers, if they don't have too many characters yet).

Check it out, it should prove rather interesting...

i saw his deck but i want to stay away from other people's ideas to make the deck my own baby.

Well, posting a topic here asking for people's ideas doesn't really make them yours... ;)

Anyway, IQ's build was decent but he was missing a LOT of other cards that I consider required. First of all, you don't need the Onslaughts. Turn 7 Gamma Bomb and Turn 8 Apocalypse should seal the deal against most decks. The main card he was missing was Mystical Paralysis. That card is just insane in stalling. Avalon Space Station should also be added to abuse Rama-Tut (infinite Gamma Bombs, anyone?). It's too bad we don't have sideboards in this game. Otherwise, 4 Flame Traps would do nicely against weenie rush decks.

A little note on sideboards A little birdy told me (well one of the games creators Alex Shavartsman) that sideboards may be added soon.

Well, my little sentinel deck (which I'm already having trouble playing well) is having a hard enough time without the side board flame traps... so let's hope they don't introduce them just yet =)

if you play a doom deck, there are many cards that can stall when you're defending. some caracters you exaust to exaust another, and then on turn 4, you have good defense with doom... i think it might work, but you would probably win the game soon after than anyways...
