What's your intake on the discontinue of Revenge of the Sith and Clone Strike? I go two ways on this:

Good: Pieces you have of them are now worth much more than before. Sweet!

Bad: If you DONT have them, then they will be much harder to get!

So, it works either way, but it sways upon your power. What's your opinions?

I think it is bad for people like me who joined after Clone Strike was discontinued. Now people like me will never have the joy th use those minis.

It's not bad. Every collectable game eventually discontinues sets. There are still plenty of opurtunity to get them, via trading or buying single packs or figures online or a place who still has them.

They should have kept Clone Strike going ... the minis game has only recently picked up any momentum with players. It's a shame that a lot of the newcomers will miss out on the better boosters. Rebel Storm and Universe should have been discontinued before Clone Strike and Revenge of the Sith.

I thought Rebel Storm was discontinued?

I thought Rebel Storm was discontinued?

It was for a while. WotC_Rob finally decided that there was a reprint for it, so they made a reprint for Rebel Storm a while back.

There are a few places that have Revenge of the Sith boosters left by me, but there isn't all that much left. Clone Strike is gone. I am glad that I picked up every single figure from that set.

My take is: It's good if you want to make some extra cash by throwing them on eBay. Although, for the people who are buying them, they have to shell out $50+ for Darth Maul or Aurra Sing.

It's a double edged sword.

OUch. This hurts.

And right when I wanted to start picking some up again. (Back in the day I sold 3 aura's for $30, now on ebay they're worth $60+ -__- )

Meh.

I guess that's why there's trading. ^_^

Yeah, I traded all of my Vs(about $60) for Aurra alone. I still need Durge though.

Meh, if Rebel Storm is being reprinted, they will probally reprint Clone Strike and Revenge of the Sith, too.

Highly unlikely. RotS has already been through 1 reprint.

I wouldn't say its highly unlikely, I'm sure they will eventually reprint old sets, if they are reprinting such crap is Rebel Storm.

The only thing bad about it is that now Aurra Sing's value has gone through the roof. I would really like her for my collection.

Meh. I've got plenty of Revenge of the Sith, thank you very much.

I'm rather annoyed about Clone Strike, though. I have a starter and a single booster from the set and that's it. There's a bunch of junk from the set that I need, since I got into the game only around Universe. Maybe they'll reprint it in the future like with Rebel Storm.

Clone Strike has been reprinted already. It's in Europe, Asia, and Australia. WotC_Rob has said that there have been no plans to reprint Clone Strike. RotS has been mass produced out the roof, so I don't see a reprint for that either.

I'm glad Clone Strike is available here (though it's almost already sold out) because it gave me a chance to actually START my collection from that set.

It's too bad that they only give out only so many pieces. It would be nice if Clone Strike got another shot for the U.S., considering I have to buy my Aurra Sing for over 70 dollars of the internet WITHOUT SHIPPING!!!

I was lucky enough to get an Aurra Sing in the last case of Clone Strike that my store was able to get.

So, uh, are they gonna start making the RotS and CS figures not playable in sanctioned tournaments. Otherwise, it kind of puts newbies behind, considering they'll only have a limited number of resources to tap into.

Umm, most of the new stuff can take out most of the old stuff so it shouldn't be too much of a problem and there is always trading...

Theres always ebay and other people to trade them off. Taking away one of the best sets and making them illegal to play would be pretty stupid. All of the sets will be out of print eventually. Wont be long before Rebel and Return are out of print (I'll give it till the end of this year).

why do they take them out of print at all?! its stupid.

Well, none of y'all have ever seen Heroclix, have you? Whenever a new set is released, it pushes other sets to the bubble, perse. When one set is too hard to acquire and such, they make it illegal in tournaments. So far, it's worked wonderfully for Heroclix....

No. That made me quit Heroclix.

WizKids doesn't know how to run a company and is constantly banning sets. That may work for magic, but for an expensive game like Heroclix... No. This is the reason I play Star Wars Minis.

No Wizkids.
No Set Rotation.

Accually, MOST places run unrestricted most if not all the time. (You can use any set) :)

Just thought I would point that out.

They also made a rule recently that'll allow places to allow you to houserule you can use unrestricted pieces.

Ah the joys of houserules

I like the idea of sets being out of print, that way when I stop playing I can sell them for a higher price then I paid for.
I'd imagine making miniatures AND cards would be a lot more expensive for Wizards than just making cards. They have to draw the line somewhere.

Unfortunately, being the Hardcore Seperatist and Imperial player that I am, I am missing One crucial piece from CS and RotS

And Unfortunately, one of them is the mac daddy of them all,

Darth Maul

and from RotS I am missing Emperor Palpatine, which I need desperately to finish out my Emperor Palpatine Free-For-All Army.

However, I'm sure that my Bobba Fett from Rebel Storm will get me one (or even both! Drool) so that I can finally have every variation of both of my favorite characters from the Star Wars Universe.

So, why would you guys worry about them limiting Star Wars sets? Don't you think that most stores would also run unrestricted?

House rules are what makes games unique in different places. That's why limiting the sets wouldn't hurt the game any.

I completely agree, just recently joined, all I have so far is 12 stormtroopers, 1 elite stormtrooper, 1 stormtrooper officer, 1 scout trooper, 1 san hill, 1 nemoidian soldier, 1 clone commander, 2 nautolan soldiers, and an AT-ST, and now there is so much i may never get

Some of us don't have the luxury of Ebay. Ya know, parents and stuff. Besides, some of us also don't want to risk our money on Ebay (I've been ripped off from there before)

Luckily, I have card stores, lol.

some of us beg and gravel to our parents to use ebay and then pay them for the cost of the item. there are also a ton of places that sell miniatures online, you could do the same thing there (i cant post links or sights cause this palce has some no advertising rule).

Because RotS and Clone Strike are out of print, nobody can get the best Separatists, and to a lesser extent, Republic minis.
