View Full Version : Ron/Hermione Shippers May Be Right?
Before I get into this, I want to say I am a Harry/Hermione shipper 100% and the new Prisoner of Azkaban trailers DISGUST me.
In them it shows twice, maybe three times, of Ron and Hermione having "feelings for each other". Theres this scene where Hermione grabs Ron's hand, blushes and lets go. The other is where Hermione tells Ron to stand closer because they're outside the Shrieking Shack and its cold
On Mothers Day, NBC aired Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone and Danielle Radcliffe, Emma Wattson and Rupert Grint were all there and discussed the movies during commerical breaks. Emma and Rupert stated that the new director (the spanish one) wanted more horomes in the movie, because they're growing up and then they go to the Shrieking Shack scene and say something hinting at a R/H relationship.
Now my opinion on this is that because JK Rowling gets to see every clip of the movie before its released unto public eyes, that she OK'ed this. If she OK'ed this, then she knew H/H shippers would probably get upset. Since she wants us to guess at who will end up with Hermione, this clip is a BIG indication on what R/H's relationship could turn out to be.
So what I'm trying to say is JK didn't mind that Ron and Hermione are starting to get closer in PoA, because she has to agree to that.
Now you can counter-argue that she also OK'ed all of the scenes with H/H in the two movies prior to PoA, but I, like many others, feel that PoA is where the romance really kicks in and instances in the other books/movies shouldn't be accounted for.
So this may be either an indication of R/H or nothing at all. Only time will tell...

It will be Ron and Hermione. JK said it herself. Bottom line about that. And it is quite annoying I might add.
Oh good lord, she has NEVER confirmed that. She has never come even close to confirming Ron and Hermione by the end of the books. That is pure boohockey.
And as far as I'm concerned, JK is incredibly wily. She never gives you a straight answer to almost any question and has made it very clear that the ONLY real answers we will get are from Books 6 and 7. In a recent Q&A, you could have taken her words to mean Harry and Hermione are possible, Ron might die, and so much more. You just can't know until the books come out.
And by the way, BD25, I am certain that what Hermione did after noticing her little hand-grab (not in the book) was NOT a blush. It looked alot like disgust. You should watch it again.

Ahem! There was a topic saying JK said it on the last board. It is NOT BULL OKAY!!!!!!!!! I don't make insane stuff up, so go flush your head.

She did come close to confirming it in an interview, the transcription of which was posted on the old board. (can't remember who the interview was by, though)
But she didn't actually confirm it. Her words were, if I remember correctly:
"Harry and Hermione? You really think so?"
That doesn't confirm R/H, and it doesn't discredit H/H. It could just be JK messing about with our minds. She likes to do that.
As for this... I didn't know that. I've only seen one trailer for PoA..
Hm.. It doesn't prove anything about who ends up together in the end. They're 13, people. OK, so by 13 you start to get all... hormone-y... but you're not mature enough (usually, please don't start any arguments.. heh) to know what you're going to do with the rest of your life.
So maybe R/H is going to show up in the movie PoA more than the book.. It doesn't mean anything for the ending.
Damn it. I am NOT being converted to H/H.
>_<;

Oh, wow, you're so right. I mean, trusting a complete stranger on what he says without giving any proof whatsoever. TOTALLY reliable! mmhmm.

There's NOTHING wrong with bringing back dead topics. Stop trying to backseat mod...
I stil think it's going to be Harry and Hermionie after everything is said and one. Ron/Hermionie would just be a nightmare.

I really don't know what to think on this matter. I don't think Hermione should be with either.

Sorry, it is forbidden on other message boards I go to, I thought it would be here, mah bad. I will not try to backseat mod again.
Anyway, I personally don't think that Ron/Hermione would be a nightmare, they are meant for each other IMO. Somehow, they just seem right together.

I'd personally prefer it if Harry simply did not bother with love in the seventh book. I absolutely despised the random Harry/Ginny which detracted from Halfblood Prince's plot and I would find it more appropriate if Harry were to not have a love relationship in the seventh book. There hasn't been enough time to properly develop it, it would entirely random in my opinion, and would detract from the focus of the book, essentially concluding Harry vs. Voldemort and tying up all the important loose strings.

Harry getting the girl would be too formulaic. Harry's best friend getting the girl would be too formulaic. The girl dying? That's what I hope will happen.

there is also some romance in the second one~ remember near the ending, hermione gave harry a big hug but gave Ron only a hand shake. and JK was also OK with that. may be those parts in third movie just try to even things out~~

Hugs are not romance. I give hugs to my guy friends a lot, and I'm decidedly straight.

i wouldnt call it romance if she gave Ron a hug too~~ but she didnt, so i guess it means something in the second movie~

She was what... 12, 13?
I don't know how much kids have changed since I was that age, but I was barely getting over the fact that girls no longer had cooties then.
Again, not in the least romantic. Maybe made to look that way, but IMO she was just very worried about him, having gone up against the spawn of Voldy and all. Ron was just his usual baindead self.
Also, JK had very little control over the movies(except that she was able to nix anything that would have conflicted with later books), to the point where she had no say in who directed the movies, so...

I resent that.
Anyway, Harry can't be with Hermione, too formulaic. Ron can't either, because they just aren't right for each other.

So you seriously think that you're mature enough to handle a long term relationship?
If anything, the fact that you got offended proves my point to a degree.
Also:Harry getting the girl would be too formulaic. Harry's best friend getting the girl would be too formulaic. The girl dying? That's what I hope will happen.
