View Full Version : Hate Return? look at it this way and stop the cycle.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks this way.

If I have 2 BTH, 2 Sorcerers, 2 NoC, and DDWL in my deck, and for sake of numbers let's say my opponent runs those cards in their deck along with 2 Returns.

Out of 80 cards, 14+ (depends on what NoC hits) of my opponents monsters have a chance to get RFG by way of about 12 cards. That's about an 18% chance that either one of us can individually draw one of those cards that fuel his RFG after our opening hands, but that number turns to 36% when you take in to account that we're both taking turns. Obviously those percentages go up as we draw more cards.

His chances of drawing Return are 6% after his opening hand. Again all percentages go up as cards are drawn form the deck.

Now why would I give him the high percentage of his monsters being RFG while he has such low percentage to draw his return? Wouldn't it be better to give him low percentages both ways?

People run Chaos/Return because they fuel each other. Stop fueling and it might stop the cycle.

By adding Smashing Grounds and Sakuretsus, and taking out BTH and Sorcerer I lower all of his chances to get a big "Return" on me. Now only 10+ (again depends on what NoC hits) of his monsters can now get RFG with lower chances of them getting RFG, because instead of 12 cards between the 2 of us used to fuel his Return there are only 8 now. Lower percentages means less lucksacks.

At least keep track of how many times you ever use Return against a deck that doesn't have a lot of RFG cards in it and you'll see what I mean. It may not technically stop the cycle but it will lower the amount of times your opponent lucksacks you with Returns.
