Unofficial Leagues

If you dont have a league in your area, why not make an unofficial one? Just get a few friends, pick a place to play, and post ads around town. Maybe someone will come, ya never know. And if there are enuff people that play, maybe you could convince a local comic or book store to open a pokemon league.

If I knew enough people who were interested in the game in this area, I probably would.

They have a league going downtown, though I'm pretty sure it's the only league left in the state...

Heh, yeah there just are not enough people in my area. And if I invited the people I am friends with who play, then that would be like a grand total of 3-4 people in the league.

If I invited people, maybe 1 or 2 would show up. But, my friends hate the TCG.

The most I can chalk up for something like this is about 8 people, mostly newbies who just started the game because it's much cheaper than Yu-Gi-Oh!. Just enough for a 8-man Knock Out Tourney.

The league I used to go to before I moved had an official league. It actually brought in more people to play then the official one. Go figure :rolleyes:

The local card shop I play at has barely any Pokémon players at all, but usually you can scare up a few on Sundays. I'd love to see tourneys there again, though the YGO tourneys are nonstop. Annoying, eh?

That seems to have happened to all the former Pokémon TCG League haunts... they're all Yu-Gi-Oh now. :\

I can't wait till all those Yu-Gi-Oh! players realize there is no strategy. It took me a little time but I figured it out. Play this, revive that, win the game, lol. All the pokemon leagues around here have...Wait, WHAT POKEMON LEAGUES! POKEMON ALL THE WAY!

I manage to play in an unofficial league, although there are times where I wish I could be playing Pokémon as well as Dungeons and Dragons. Though I do have the possibility to play both, my games tend to take a while at time when it is a one on one battle, so starting a game can take anywhere from a quick 5 minutes to well over an hour with a deck that I build.

I've never played in a league before. Even when pokemon was big, there were no leagues that I knew of around here. If I were to have my own tourny, i'd probably be the only one there lol
