hey everyone im new on this site but ive been playing yugioh since day 1. i attend tournaments on saturdays and i try to attend the major ones such as regionals nationals and pre-releases. anyway over the past month i have found a new love for the card "Jar of Greed" does anyone really realize HOW GOOD it really is? well heres how i look at it... it alows you to run more than 40 cards in a deck because its just a deck thinner but none the less another card in your deck which could be the difference between you opponent running out of cards first ( its possible ) and the fact that its chainable! (thats my favorite part) is amazing... heres a good example

the game just starts you go first... you set jar of greed and a face down monster. Your opponent is going to play it safe and Mystical space typhoon your face down so that he avoids getting his creature torrential tributed, bottomless trap holed or just trap holed. you chain Jar of Greed... your opponent pretty much just lost a card and you didnt loose anything your jar of greed covered the loss so that your opponent got a -1 and you just got a 0 which is no disadvantage to you...

another fun situation is when you set 2 of them and your opponent has a set card so they feel its fair and safe to heavy storm... yeah why not its 2:2
(2 cards for 2 cards) so there would be no disadvantage just a clean field...
well the field will be clear but your opponent just lost 2 cards and you didnt really lose any because you chain your jar of greeds... hehehe your opponent now has two less cards to hinder you with and you have the advantage...

so in conclusion jar of greed is a good game changer and is a good bluff card and will make your opponent very angry

thank you for reading my post and i hope my deck strategy will help you all if you choose to use it.

I do the same thing w/jar of greed. I don't think ur the first to do it or think about it. I know there are prolly plenty of others who do it too. It's a good way to draw out heavy early game. Just watch out for those faiths. It's pretty good tech though.

You do not set a face-down Torrential in your first move. What's the point? At most you will get 1 monster (2 if your opponent is dumb enough to Special Summon Cyber and Normal summon in Main Phase 1).

Keep Torrential until you can ensure you nuke at least 2 of your opponent's monsters.

Jar of Greed is the best "fill-in" Trap card. If you have empty slots in your Trap lineup, Jar is a perfect fit. I just never seem to have those empty slots :o

trust me im aware that you shouldnt set torrent first turn it was just an idea or thought to add with the fear of some cards people have, im very high ranked in michigan (used to be #1 till i quit for a while) and probably could thrash the majority of people on this site if we were to actually play
IM NO NOOB just because im new on this site

Defensive much? simmer down meow.

Anywho I like this card and helps get exodia if you happen to run it. I can't seem to find any room for this card in my decks though.

what i was saying in the main discussion is that you could still run even if there IS no room... i used to be like SUPER strick i wouldnt run more than 40 cards in a deck which i still kinda lean towards but! im experimenting with jar and so far it pretty good so i threw 1 in at first and ran 41 cards and its pretty helpful so i added another and with 40 cards (staples and such) and two jars which basically null themselves out and could possibly give you an advantage its a good card to run... im probably going to run them at regionals so your basically still running 40 not 42 or whatever
