The Rock is finally back with his first card review thread. The Rock has been busy as of late and much wants to help the Pokemon environment. The Rock does not play Pokemon that much, but does offer to help out when it comes to strategies. First off, The Rock would like to just give a try at some card reviews and put some light on the erupted format. As of now, many decks are being played, considering BAR decks are running rampant and The Rock would like to put some more ideas out there.

The card that the Rock is going to review this week is part of the FAT 1st place winner, Aquapolis Scizor. AQ Scizor was one part of the most greatest deck in the Neon Format, Scizor/Furret/Muk. Simply Furret would search for either Rainbow Energies or Metal Energies and pile them on Scizor. In addition, it was made even more broken with the Oracle Bill combo. So quite possibly, you had 2-4 Metal energies on the 3rd or 4th turn. With so many Metal energies on him, it was quite hard to knock him out with all the Gold Berries and Focus Band's.

But that was the Neon format, this is E-On format. With all the BAR decks running around with BlazeEX tagging behind, it is quite hard for Steel pokemon to have decks like Aggron EX, SS Steelix and AQ Scizor. If you were going to make a Steel deck, then you should combo it with some water pokemon. For example, there was AggronEX/Wailord deck that was quite efficient before BAR came along.
Furthermore, The Rock would like to point out if AQ Scizor is still playable. First off, if you want to counter against BAR, then you would probably want to put in a couple of Weakness Guard's just in case. Crystal Shards would help out to get rid of Rayquaza EX very quickly. Of course, if you want make a deck then either put Delcatty or Furret to get Steel energies really quickly. Also to tech against Gardy decks, use Wobbuffet to block GardyEX. AQ Scizor is also good against Sceptile decks with the Grass Resistance. Since the release of Double Rainbow Energy, Scizor could be power up on the second turn, but -20 for the damage. But to fully counter against most decks out there, AQ Scizor would need a type of water Pokemon. Since DRE could be in a type of AQ Scizor deck, you could throw in R/S Wailord to get it powered up real fast, while Scizor is getting early damage. Whiscash could be another, in spite of it being on the bench and not being damaged.

Overall, AQ Scizor is still playable somewhat. But if you would want to make a deck out of it try Scizor/Furret/Wailord. The energies could be 4 Metal, 4 Rainbow, 4 DRE, and 7 Water. 4 Dunsparce would have to be required to set up real early.

The Rock's final rating on AQ Scizor would be the following.

Playability: 3.5/5
Effectiveness: 3.7/5
Strategical: 3.9/5
Overall: 3.8/5
