Hey, I have a question. This game seem like it'll be fun, and I usually play with the same few people, anyway. I would like to try to build a deck strategy, but it's pretty hard when they don't explain what all the different combat attributes and symbols represent. I mean, what kinds of strategies are inherent to each attribute and symbol? Furthermore, does the combat attribute really mean anything at all? I don't see that any of the cards have a combat attribute/type, and that's really what I was assuming it would be like.
Thanks,
Sam

The Symbol on each card is very important to deck creation. Unsure as to the strategy behind each symbol, but I do know that running all five is bad. To activate effects with a Hand cost you must discard a symbol matching the symbol on the card you're playing.
On Combat Types, several Jutsu cards require certain Combat types like "Leaf Hurricane" requires Taijutsu, and "Mind Body Transfer" requires Mind. They effect what cards you can use on what ninja.

Are you talking about the hand cost? cause if so i'll tell you..
For example:
Phase-1 of your Mission Phase:
Lets say its turn 5 and you want to play a ninja, lets say "Might Guy" for example, he requires 5 turns and 1 hand cost, but you need to discard the same type of card located at the top right hand card. ("Might Guy" is a Lightning, so you would have to discard a lightning card from your hand in order to play him.)
Phase-2 of your Mission Phase:
For example, you want to play a Mission Card..lets say "After The Battle", it requires 2 turns and 1 hand cost. You would have to discard 1 Earth type card (Located on the top right hand of the card) in order to play it, and both the discarded card and the Mission Card go to your Chakra Zone.
_-Skipping to the Battle Phase-_
Ok, lets say you have a:
Rock Lee -No Talent- 3/0 (As Head Ninja)
Shikmaru Nara -Lazy Bum- 0/2 (back Ninja)
Might Guy -Fervent Words- 6/0 (back Ninja)
__________Total Power: 9 (+4 from Might Guy's effect)__________
Now, Lets say your opponent has:
Ninji 3/1 (As Head Ninja)
The Demon Brothers Meizu 3/2 (back Ninja)
Iruka Umino -Devoted To Pupil- 3/1 (back Ninja)
__________Total Power: 6___________
Now, if you send YOUR team into battle wich has a total power of 9, and your opponent sends his team into battle to block your attack, you can:
(A) Use a Justu
___Or___
(B) Skip your Justu
If you decide to skip, your opponent can use Justus's. Lets say..your opponent pays 1 Jutsu for a "Leaf hurricane" wich gives +3/0. "Leaf Hurricane" needs a Ninja that can use Taijutsu (wich Ninji can use, if you look at the bottom right hand corner, it'll say what type he can use.) So, now your opponents team has a power of 9, so there equal, now YOU can use a Justu. Lets say you use "Shadow Clone Justu" it needs a Earth Type Chakra and then X amount of any other chakra (X = as many as you want) and for each Chakra you use, its doubled. So say you used it and you get rid of 3 Chakra's, so that would be a total of 6, so your team is now 15,a nd if ur opponent cant do anything, they could either BLOCK or let your hit go through, wich would do 2 cards of damage...
I really hope this helped, and please pm questions if you need to.

Other than a few minor problems with your Jutsu example...
1. "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu" is what you meant, not "Shadow Clone Jutsu".
2. "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu" is Lightning cost, not Earth.
3. Rock Lee cannot be the user of "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu" it costs a specific symbol type.
Other than that you pretty much hit the nail on the head. Combat types effect abilities and Jutsu you can use.

Yes, your right, it is "Multi Shadow Clone Justu" ( I had forgotten the name, and what the cost was, I dont own the card, so i was just making a example)
But once again, thanks for correcting me =)
Oh, just a quick question.....
When you mean he cant be the target of a Justsu that requires a specfic attribute, do you mean.....
Your team:
Zabuza
Both Demon Brothers
and you use "Silent Killing Justu" do you need 3 Water Attributed Ninjas, and a chakra? I think thats how it works

Actually, the question I was asking was more along the lines of what Rakath was saying. I don't have a problem with understanding how to pay for cards, but I wanted to verify that the combat attributes had some sort of effect on the gameplay. Can anybody tell me what the basic ideas behind the combat attributes are?

Here are four from the structure decks:
Ninja - Fire
Kiba Inuzuka (Cost 0-0)
Leaf | Genin | Male (Fang)
2/0 Health 0/0 Injured
Combination
Valid: When this Ninja is sent out to battle with a Ninja with a "Beast" Combat Attribute in the same Team, this Ninja gets +1/+1 during the turn.
Ninja - Lightning
Might Guy (Cost 5-1)
Leaf | Jounin | Male (Taijutsu)
6/0 Healthy 5/0 Injured
Fervent Words
When the Head Ninja of this Ninja's Team is a "Genin" with a "Taijutsu" Combat Attribute, this Ninja gets +0/+4.
Jutsu - Earth
Expansion Jutsu
Cost - Earth
Requirement: "Food" Combat Attribute
Target: User
Effect THe target gets +2/+0 during this turn and cannot be the target of your opponent's Jutsu cards.
Jutsu - Fire
Demon Wind Shuriken Windmill of Shadows
Cost: Fire, One
Target: User
Effect: The target gets +2/+0 during this turn. If the target has a "Weapon" Combat Attribute, the target gains an additional +1/+0.
Each card has an effect that directly relates to Combat Attribute.

The Combat Attributes have no inherent effect on the gameplay. They are there for certain jutsu's to be used, thus giving restriction to the effects of jutsu's. As someone mentionned before, Expansion Jutsu requires a Food combat attribute. If it didn't, it could give any Ninja +2/+0 and immunity from Jutsus. But since there's the requirement, it means you have to use it on someone with a Food attribute. It's more helpful than detrimental, as it helps make cards playable only in certain decks.
The Element Symbols signify the types of Chakra the Ninjas/Jutsus/Missions are associated with. They signify what Chakra the card will become when they go to the Chakra pile, and form the basis for deck types. In a deck it's a good idea to keep the elemental structure consistent. If it's not, it could lead you to situations where you don't have the right chakra for the moment, or other troubles.
