NARUTO Sold Out Across the Nation - Interview

New info from the Bandai Boards. An interview with Andrew Lupp, the National Sales Manager at Bandai Games.

Summary:
Sold out at most hobby distributors (bet you didn't know that!)
-Orders were far stronger than what Bandai expected, so only about 50% of those orders were filled
-Bandai is taking product that was intended for the mass-market release in two months and shipments of this re-purposed product should reach hobby distributors next week
-Theme decks have not sold out and they will ship with the second wave of boosters
-These boosters are in mass-market blister pack format with 12 packs per box, but they have the same insert ratios and per card cost to distributors as the hobby store 24 packs per box versions.
-They are still marked "First Edition", as all of the currently printed cards are.
-If there is a reprint of Path to Hokage, it will be after the July 28 release of Coils of the Snake, and then Path to Hokage will be "unlimited".
-The mass-market release of Path to Hokage is still planned for June.

Naruto sold out very fast here. Our weekly Yu-Gi-Oh tornament was even cancelled because so many people we trying out Naruto. It seems cool I will buy a starter deck when the next shippment arrives to try it out.

At the store I normally go for yugioh and magic, they were holding the premier for the Naruto game and the first day they started selling everything, they were sold out and at the premier they were filled.

My store (see my sig) was lucky enough to get a free case of boosters and starters by winning them at the GTS. I was in need of a Naruto fix last night so I bought Japanese series 10 and pulled a 9/0 healty 8/0 injured Manda (Orochimaru's snake) Super (or Ultra?) rare.

I picked up the Naruto Starter Deck ((Compared to the Sasuke)) and it looks like it'll be a fun game! I like the fact that it came with SO many ninjas!

When you buy the Starter Deck, are the cards in order, or are they mixed randomly?

I just put them in the order that they came in the deck.

I bought 2 packs today, and got both "Ultra" Rare cards. They are supposed to be 1:12, and I pulled 2.

Silent Killing Jutsu (Misprinted, too! Lettering is about half an inch higher, in the Flavor Text)

It's pretty cool. They come with Holofoil cards in every pack. I got:

Zabuza Momochi (Effect: Zero Visibility Thick Fog)
Shino Aburame (No effect)

Anyways, just thought I'd share that one with everyone.

What were your "ultra rares" because the two cards you named arent "ultra", they are just rares. Check my sig and click on the Naruto link to see the Super Rares (not Ultras).

Since only 50% of orders could be fulfilled and my Wal Mart only got Starter Decks is it okay to guess that once Path to Hokage is reprinted they will probably get some packs. I have bought a starter deck and really want the packs now.

Damn, it is a pain wanting to play this game when I have almost no access to cards what-so-ever.
