i do when i can, there are good players but sometimes a lot of young kids show up and things go slow(no offense to people who play there and read this that have kids lol), you can usually find good competition though

It's a mixed bunch. One old guy (me), a bunch of teens, and a few young kids. The last release event brought in a new group of very young ones without a lot of experience.
You'll find a range of experience and skill. There are half-a-dozen players who are pretty good, though not all of them make it to each tournament.
Be aware that South Bend is now on Eastern time year-round, so anyone who comes from Illinois will have to take that into account.

Our play group is....varied. We have everything from inexperienced teens to masterful kids. We've been getting anywhere between 8 and 18 players for 5 Civ's, Release tourneys and monthy constructed tournaments. You should come check it out, we'd love the competition!

How likely is it for you to get 8 people... Im not driving 2 hours just to see that 6 people showed up.

Uh, the only time we had 8 people was the very first tournament we held. We get far more than that now. You should definately come over to play!

well the first tournament there was the release of fatal brood, not the 5 civs for it and 14 people showed up i believe, the 5 civs had 7 if i was told correctly but the store keeper played(i wasn't there or i would've been 8 lol), then at shockwave release i think it was 20 people that showed up, so if thats not enough lol might not wanna come lol

Oh yeah, that's right! Sorry about that, yeah, that's kinda strange now that I think about it. The 5 Civ's cost less and has a larger prize payout than the release tournament but less people showed up, huh. Anyways, there should be more than enough people now if you're looking for some competition.

Just to let you all know numbers: yesterday we had one of our monthly tourneys. We had 13 present, with 6-8 previously regular attendees absent (many of them let me know ahead of time that they just couldn't make it this week). I expect 15-20 next week in addition to any new folks we have.
One word of warning. There are a number of very young, inexperienced kids who play slowly. So you'll have some down time during the tournament. Expect to play some casual duels, bring some homework, whatever. But I don't think it will be a speedy day.
