I'm just curious, for those of you whom have created a successful mono team.
But to cut to the chase, I created this thread to see if any of you might make a thread to help those who want to make a mono team successful (I would, but i'm not by any means a expert, and i'm still in the process of dealing with the mono types weakness whilst getting past the rest of the opponents team (not hard at all, it's just the weakness , especially when they go faster than mine lol))?
I'd consider helping, but I'm not as good as i used to be and my move sets have become rather unothordox...
The biggest thing for a mono-type team is to make sure you use dual types, and try to get pokemon to fill normal roles(P Sweeper, S Sweeper, Walls, etc.)
Hmmm..I gat one question.(don't flame me becasue of this ,lol)
Whats a Mono team?

A mono team follows a specific idea. It can be a mono-type (such as an all-Water team), a mono-weather (such as a Sunny Day team), or any mono-theme team (such as an all body-part team that I've heard of).

Would all ball shaped Pokemon be a Mono Team?

ooo Rain Dance team... assuming this is for GBA games only
Kyogre @ [berry that awakens from sleep]
Water Spout (works good with Rest... you can use Surf or something if you want though)
Ice Beam
Rest
Ancientpower/Double-Edge (Ancientpower if you can get a heart scale, double-edge otherwise)
Starmie @ Leftovers
Rain Dance
Surf/strong water move
Thunder
Psychic
Magneton @ w/e
Thunder
ThunderWave/Tri Attack (can freeze, paralyze, or burn w/ ??% chance)
Toxic
Hyper Beam? It doesn't learn much else
Ludicolo @ Leftovers (moveset1, use Rain Dish since its a healer)
Rain Dance (in case Kyogre's Dance has died)
Dive (give you more HP and gives you a turn where you don't get hit)
Leech Seed
Toxic
Ludicolo @ w/e (moveset2, use Swift Swim)
Rain Dance
Surf
Giga Drain
Ice Beam
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ice Beam
Surf
Earthquake
Return/Frustration
Masquerian @ Leftovers
Water Pulse
Psybeam (breed female surskit/masquerian w/ male Dustox @ lvl24, so it knows psybeam already)
Silver Wind
Giga Drain
Is that the kind of thing you meant?
oh , ok I get it know.Well thanks for telling me.

Well, I'll give my example, i'm building a all Steel team (steel's are my favorite), But i'm having a "Slight" difficulty countering pokemon the know Fire type moves, Charizard in specific...
Here are the pokemon I currently use (i'm trying to find a replacement for Mawile and I REALLY dislike using Legendaries)
Metagross
Lv 100
EV:S: Atk, Speed, Sp. Atk
Ability: Clear Body
MS: Meteor Mash
Thunder Punch
Ice Punch(changing to Rock Slide)
Psychic
Skarmory
Lv 100
EV's: Atk, Speed, some Def(these were just "extra"...)
Ability: Sturdy
MS: Drill Peck
Rock Slide
Steel Wing
Fly (only because I needed a 'flyer' to get around to places lol)
Scizor
Lv 100
EV's: Atk, Speed, some Def
Ability: Swarm
MS: Metal Claw (I know steel wing's better, but I went with claw because I figured it suited him better..picture/attacking wise)
Silverwind
Swords Dance
Aerial Ace
Steelix
Lv 100
EV's: Def, Hp, some Sp. Def
Ability: Rock Head
MS: Double-edge
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Explosion
Aggron
Lv 100
EV's: Atk, Speed, some Sp. Def
Ability: Rock Head
MS: Double-edge
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Aerial Ace (anti fighter/grass)
Mawile(I tried to make this a "elementalist"...)
Lv 100
EV's: Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, some Speed
Ability: Hyper Cutter
MS: Thunder Punch
Crunch
Ice Beam
Flamethrower
and I was doing some research, and found that the fastest steel pokemon can get, is 262, while things like charizard can automatically get higher, so i'm having a slight difficulty with things like that, I'm thinking maybe Quick Claw or Focus Band?

mono teams...hmmmm. I believe that a Psychic team would be a god idea. Metagross, Starmie, Alakazam/Gardevoir, Latio/as. Well, I play Emerald, so I only need 3 pokemon. Basically, fina a type that has alot of dual opportunities. Per say, Dragons have good defenses, the best probablyy would be Kingdra because of how few weaknesses he has...
Mono Move teams, well...Icebeam is a good move to work off of. If you built a rounded out team with Icebeam as its primary move,(or whatever move you pick) you may be able to have a balanced team. I picked Icebeam, cuz alot of people use dragons.
Also, Every team should hold atleast 2 pokemon that have stat boosting moves, double team being my favorite. I have a scizor with Double Team and Swords Dance. I have an Aggron with double Team and attract. These are the kind of moves that can change battles around
Good Luck, hope I helped some.
Additional Comment:
as for your Question, doesn't either Aggron or Steelix have a normal against fire? whichever one has a normal to it, should be added in a second time. Um, Qucik claw ain't that great, maybe Bright Powder?

Magneton might be a better replacement for Mawile. I think he can take out Charizard with one Thunder or Zap Cannon. And he has decent speed I think. Main thing I can see to really take out Fires is Steelix, since he might be able to take a hit then unleash a Rock Slide or Earthequake.
I'd probably use an all Electric type team. Most Likely: Electrode, Jolteon, Pikachu, Magneton, Manectric, Ampharos. Maybe replace one of them with Raichu. Now can all those Pokemon be caught in Emerald?

problem with Magneton is that the charizard would go first and strike it down with a flamethrower/overheat....
and to both questions.. only aggron is the one that fire isn't super effective against... (both times I sent it out vs the charizard.. the zard critical'd :( )
Does Brightpower reduce the opponents accuracy by alot or alittle?
And a all electric team in my opinion would be (of course without legendaries..): Pikachu (with Light Ball), Jolteon, Ampharos, Lanturn, Electabuzz and either Magnectric/Magneton or Electrode..

I think Bright Powder reduces it by 20%, but I'm not sure. Quick Claw works pretty well sometimes as I use it for Rhydon, and he gets the jump on people almost half the time.
As for my Electric team, I forgot about Lantern and Buzz. Can all those you listed be caught in Emerald without trading? If so, I'd probably go with these:
Pikachu w/light ball
Lantern
Jolteon
Magneton
Electrode
Electabuzz

I think the only chance my pokemon "may" have is to use the quick claw (my friends and I go by the Battle Frontier rules, so I can only use 1 claw :( )
and for your electric team, the only one that cannot be caught in emerald (in fact, I use emerald....) is Electabuzz and Jolteon, because Pikachu can be caught in the safari zone, Magnemite/ton in the underground mauville place, same with electrode/voltorb.
EDIT = I was also thinking perhaps a mawile specifically trained for sp. def and HP and that knows Rain Dance (to lower down fire damage), Double Team, Baton Pass and possibly Swords Dance or agility(if it can even learn it...)

Hmm Jolt and Buzz not in it huh :(. That sucks. As for the Mawile idea, seems like a ok idea. But I'm guessing hge's not that fast. What if he overheats him?

naw, Mawile's not fast, it's got really poor stats to start with... the anti fire here to tell you the truth, is Aggron... but he can only defend against so much (minus the critical's I keep getting from my friends charizard :( ) So I figure i'll send out Mawile first, build up, and Baton pass to the aggron/Scizor... oh, and I put a Choice Band on Scizor...

Mawile is pretty bad. it's on the not used list for a reason, but if you like it use it. Registeel is a way better choice...

Well, I figured either that, Magneton, or Forrettress.. (I try to stay away from legend's...)

I say Magneton just because if he takes a fire attack from Charizard and lives you can probably KO him with Thunder or Zap Cannon.

heres a expert thought, dont use a mono team, you should use a team of all kinds of pokemon, mono teams are beaten too easily

When I asked for experts, I didn't mean that kind of opinion.
Mono teams aren't easily beaten at all, it just all depends on the builds...
Like, they should have pokemon that either already counter their weaknesses.. or that know moves that counter their weaknesses.
