Well Toguro killed the entire Tournament Comitee and there was no one left to give Team Urameshi their wish.

To those of you who are waiting for Toonami to show the final match of the tournament.. The following info may/will be a spoiler.
*WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING*

Toguro speaks with Koenma after he is killed, talking to him about how all of team Urameshi will have the same wish, and there is no one left to grant it. Except Koenma.

Their wish is for Genkai to be returned to life, and it is granted.

Toguro and Koenma-sama making that assumption kinda unfair though, because who knows what the other team members would have wished for. Didn't Kuwabara say he was entering the Tournament so he could be able to protect Yukina?

No I think it was all their wish to bring Genkai back. Because after they said the tournament comittee was gone and they would not get their wish, Yusuke said his one wish could not be granted anways (Genkai's life) and you saw everyone else thought the same thing (even Hiei). So I am guessing what they said they would wish for, and what was really in their hearts was two different things.

I doubt that. First off, only Yuusuke says what he wants, everyone else was looking on and feeling sorry for him. We don't know for sure if they were down-trodden because of Genkai or because Yuusuke, their captain, was sad. Secondly, when Genaki dies, Hiei doesn't seem too upset [ probably because he hardly knew her and mourning doesn't seem to be in his nature. ] He even ridicules Kuwabara for not knowing about her passing and says himself his wish is to never be in the Tournament again.

There was a specific scene I was talking about in the episode "Out With a Bang" on the DVD "Tournament's End.

After they just escaped the stadium collapse. Botan complains that they can't have their wish granted. Yusuke says something a long the lines that they wouldn't be able to give him what he wanted anyways. And then everyone,(yes including Hiei) thinks of Genkai. So what they said out loud and what they really wanted were two different things. It's true that feeling sorry for Yusuke could have been a part of it, and perhaps it wasn't becauue they felt close to Genkai like Yusuke did. However maybe they all felt that was the only thing they could wish for. All other wishes probably seemed shallow at that point. And I just rewatched that scene to make sure I wasn't going nuts. :)

Perhaps they were only thinking about what Yuusuke would have wanted. Until each character says directly "I want _______", you can't be sure. And I don't think Hiei, with his crappy life and the chance to have ANYTHING he wanted, would wish to resurect a woman he meet only a week or so before and only spoke to rarely during the Tournament. It doesn't seem in character.

Yes but dont forget that even the cold-hearted hiei has his moments!

Well if We're going to be extremely specific, Hiei wanted Everyone on the tournament comittee to have a greusome bloody death, As he said himself. But since they Already met that demise, Hiei was a happy little Hobbit who couldn't ask for anything else.

I don't think any of them fought in that tournament because of a single wish. I intrepreted the scene as they all knew what Yusuke was thinking and at that point they all also realized they would have wished that too (all their other supposed wishes not so important anymore). Genkai was part of their team, she helped get them to where they were. She sacrficded herself so not only Yusuke could win but so they all could win. And I don't think Hiei would depend on a wish to make his own life better. In fact, he might of had a crappy life in the past, but whether he realized it or not at that point, his life was certainly not crappy.

You contradicted yourself there, but I'll let it go.
They joined the Tournament because they knew they'd be killed if they refused, duh.

Yeah, they were all pretty much dragged into the whole thing. . .

I fail to see where I contradicted myself. The only thing I can guess is you misintrepreted something I said. Anyways I knew why they all fought in the tournament, I did not need to be told the reason. My point was they didn't fight in that tournament to get some wish granted, but the wishes they did come up with probably seemed shallow and yes I think if they all had a wish they would all have wished for Genkai's life at that point in the story. Although you are free to disagree with me on this point, as you said no one but Yusuke said it outloud, but I am going by their expressions and how they were all thinking of Genkai. Of course I could be wrong, but I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree.

or we could not agree and just disagree un-agreeingly...?
