Team Explanation

Ok I've been looking over these threads and I'm confused on the team thing...can someone explain to me A: how you choose your teams B: everything you label such as Name @ w/e <--- what is the w/e. and the Trait..And how do you IV or EV train or w/e...I don't understand that and I've read over many descriptions of it...

A: 1. choosing our favorites and putting them in a team
2. picking the pokemon that we think compliments the rest of the team
3. picking the standards that we know will beat almost anything

B: the thing after the @ is the item, the most common ones being leftovers, choice band, and salac/liechi berries

Thanks for the help but could you help with a team...like what works together and what doesn't...the help thread didn't explain how a team should be built..like should I use all OHOKers or OHOKer with one Assistant or all Sweepers or all stallers or what...what is a good solid team...?

Generally most teams have a: Physical Sweeper, Special Sweeper, Physical Wall, Special Wall. Then the last two spots are support Pokes(Baton Passers, Spiners, Hazers, etc.)

When picking pokemon to fill each roll, just make sure the types match up to cover weaknesses. (e.g. You have a Fire-type and a Ground-type Pokemon on your team, use an Electric-type to counter Water-types.)
