Took out Slaking since it only goes once every other turn and isnt reliable enough. If you really want a normal type, try Snorlax, Blissey, or Tauros. IF none of those work for you, you can use Porygon2 (just like me :-)

Decent Pokémon choices. And yes, you'd have to trade for Ludicolo. But, in case you don't want to do that much work, there's always Cradily!

Or there's the Barrier-Coating set:

Or the Super-Recovery set:
Cradily@Leftovers

I've picked the following ludicolo, metagross, skarmory, blaziken, and salamance

I can't decide between groudon and slaking? what do you think is better?

Slaking. Groudon is Über and cheap, so don't use him.

He's a legendary, if you didn't know. And those are considered ubers due to their, well, uber stats.

Groudon is good, but its an uber legendary so nobody really likes him. Slaking is good, with I think the best Physical Attack ever, but he can only move every other turn. If you use Slaking, I suggest Hyper Beam. Either way, you lose the next turn, so it doesn't really hurt you as much. Plus, it's a strong move

InterFed_OV

Hyper Beam doesn't let you switch out on the next turn, but any other move does. You're supposed to switch out on the Truant turn to let someone else on your team attack, then switch back the following turn to clobber with Slaking some more.

If you switch to another pokemon, they can't attack on that turn anyway. Unless you're just trying to block a possibly lethal attck, it would be easier to just let Slaking traunt.

Exactly. Since that turn is going to be spent doing nothing anyway, switch Salamence in to take that Heracross Pocus Punch. Or send out Snorlax to absorb that Alakazam Psychic. Don't just sit there, that's the whole point of Choice Band on Slaking.

I need some help in gameplay too, I'm in Slateport. I need to deliver the Devon goods to Capt. Stern, but Team magma members are in a line in front of the door. How do I get them to move? Thanx to all who have helped me.

I think you have to talk to the guy that's being interviewed at the door's entrance ...I could be wrong tho

ygotrader

No one is being interviewed. That was earlier in the game all it is team magma.

There's a guy in the southeastern house below the bike shop who gives you Rock Smash because your Pokémon look weak.

Thanks a lot I now am at the part where I have aquired surf, but I don't have a water poke' ora rod where can I aquire a fishing rod Thanks in advance.

InterFed_OV
04-28-2006, 09:49 AM
Zigzagoon can learn Surf. :p

There's an Old Rod in Dewford that you should've gotten before you took on Brawly. A man near Route 107 to the east of Dewford gives you the Old Rod and tells you how to fish. Fishing is significantly different than it is in the older games. You need to quickly hit the A button whenever the game says "Oh, a bite!" until the game says "A Pokémon's on the hook!" or else the Pokémon will get away. It's harder, but much more fun IMO. You get the Good Rod from a fisherman on Route 118 across the lake, and the Super Rod from a man in his house in Mossdeep City by the Space Center.

Thanx. I'm now in sootopolis and Im lost? The gym is closed and I can't into the cave of origin, how do I do either?

InterFed_OV
05-01-2006, 09:19 PM
You need to go to the Seafloor Cavern underwater on Route 128, battle Team Aqua, and awaken Kyogre. Did you go to Jagged Pass near Lavaridge, beat Team Magma and awaken Groudon yet? You need to awaken both Groudon and Kyogre in order to unlock the Cave of Origin. When you do that, you'll meet Wallace inside the cave (you won't need Flash, and the cave itself is much shorter), and he'll ask you about Rayquaza. The correct answer is "Sky Pillar". Go to the Sky Pillar on Route 131 (you won't need the Mach Bike this time, but you will later on once you go to catch him), to get Ray to quell Groudon and Kyogre's war. After that, go back to Sootopolis, watch the cutscene, and challenge Juan at the Gym.

InterFed_OV

Well, you want to stock up on Ultra Balls and Timer Balls when you go after Legendaries. If you meant to type Master Ball, then use it on either a Shiny or whichever Lati@s you picked.

where do I get latias or latios?

ninja boy
05-03-2006, 04:29 PM
with groudon, i would have solar beam, fire blast, earth quake, and flamethrower. salamence should have fly, flamethrower, dragon claw, and fire blast. ludicolo should have water pulse, surf, giga drain, hyper beam.
the sootopolis thing, did you go to the sea cavern? if not, go there. or steven should be a little bit north of the cave of origin. try that.
blaziken_1990@yahoo.com is my email address

Additional Comment:
you get latios or latias in the wild after you beat the elite 4. which one depends which game you have. after you run into them, try your hardest to track them down.

If u have emerald, It is a bit different to get Lati@s. I believe there will be a tv comercial telling about Lati@s, and ur mom will ask u what color they said.

If u say...

Blue =Latios will appear in wild

Red=latias will appear in wild.

Now for where u actually get them, they are found in basically the same way the legendary dogs are coaught in G/S/C. U just have to get lucky, then u can track it in the dex, and use the same strategy as u use to find the legendary dogs
