I need some help trying to find 2 extra pokemon to put into my party. I like to keep my pokemon well balanced in types so I don't have one major weakness to worry about.
in my party I have
Metagross (Steel)
Aggron (Rock)
Swampert (Water/Ground)
Salamance (Dragon/Flying)
I would like a Good Fire or Electric type in my party so I'm thinking either Pikachu with a Lightball or Torkoal with Overheat and White Herb, but I'm not so sure. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Electric Wise, Ampharos would be a good choice for his awesome Sp. Att.
For the 6th pokemon, Ninetails would be a good pokemon to use as a fire type.

btw...
metagross is steel AND psychic
Aggron is rock AND steel
pikachu doesn't have a lot of defence, or hp, so it might not last very long...I'd go with Ampharos, like CrimsonBrawler
As far as fire goes, I'm trying to find a good fire type myself...If it is at all possible , try to get a blaziken plus ualso get the added element of its fighting type moves

Closest person I know with another version is in another state so Blaziken is out of the question unless someone in the forums trusts a noob like me lol. Also to make up for lack of a fighting type, I had my Salamance learn Brick Break.
Also while we are on the electric subject. Rumor has it Pichu learns a move called Jolt Tackle or Volt Tackle. Just wondering if anyone can prove it true or false before I take my ressurected fossil pokemon out of the day care and have to catch 2 pikachu, etc, etc.
Also to aid my Metagross' psychic attacks, where might I find a psychic power up item?

Volt Tackle is true. You need to have a Male and Female Pikachu and one of them holding Light Ball (found on Pikachu in Safari Zone) and the pichu that hatches from the egg will have Volt Tackle
Are you talking about the Twisted Spoon? If so, than it really isnt worth it. Leftovers or something would be better.

I agree that the twisted spoon is not worth it, but if u still want it, for show, u get it by catching a wild abra that is holding it already. There is no way of telling until after u catch it, so u just have to catch alot.

For a fire type, I'd go with Charizard or Blaziken. Blaziken can learn moves like Sky Uppercut, giving you a good variety of attacks, and Charizard can learnMetal Claw, Steel Wing, Fly, Wing Attack, as well as Blast Burn if you get it off of LG/FR.
For an Electric Type, I'd go with Ampharos or Magneton. Magneton has the bonus of being a steel type, with high defence. Ampharos has high special attack to support its electric attacks.

Well like I said earlier, it's going to be almost impossible for me to get a Blaziken since I can't get another version to trade with.
in order to get Charizard/Charmander, does that mean I have to complete the national pokedex? (if you complete the Hoenn pokedex you get one of the 3 Johto starters)
And for Vulpix, I don't have it's picture in my Pokedex, only Ninetails. Where do I look for it?

The Johto starts are Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Chickorita (sp?)
You look for Vulpix on the mountain where you fight Team Aqua for the the Orb, the mountain where the pokemon cemetery is. Mt. Pyre I believe

I need to restate what I said.
When you complete the Hoenn pokedex you get the three Johto starters.
So does that mean the rumors are true about completing the National Dex (Choose one of the three Kanto Starters)?

I didn't realise you said you didn't have another version to trade with. I meant to get Charmander/Charizard off of Leaf Green or Fire Red. I have no idea about those rumours, because I've never completed the Hoenn Pokedex (I got very close, but I lost my save file, along with several lvl 100 pokemon, and my entire collection)

Complete Hoenn Dex = 1 of the Johto Starters
Complete National Dex = Pat on the back

*twitch* getting one of the Johto starters seems enticing.
but only getting a pat on the back for Completing the National Dex *and more fans at the fan club* is nothing but a load of Pichu... =P
Back on subject. What is a good moveset for Ninetails?
