Ralts and Sltoh Pokemon

I caught Ralts and that Sltoh creture really early on in the game (like under 2 hours,) and people say they are 'rare' and 'hard to get,' and 'excellent.' What's so good about them?

Basically, nothing. Once they evolve, however, they get much better. It isn't that hard to get Ralts or Slakoth, it just takes some patience.

Ralts evolves into Gardevoir, who learns many of the regular Psychic-Pokémon moves, including Psychic, Calm Mind, the Elemental Punches, and various status-effect moves. Gardevoir is also supported by extremely high Special Attack, and can serve you very well in the game.

Slaking, Slakoth's final evolution, is truly a monster: he's got the highest Attack in the game, other than the Fire Red Deoxys. Even though he attacks every other turn, he can pack a very powerful punch. Try to fill him up with Physical Attacks (as opposed to Special Attacks) such as Brick Break, Earthquake and Return.

Basically, the final evolutions of these two Pokémon will serve you well, especially while facing the Elite Four.
