The TCG list will be the same as the OCG list?

And what about having Cash prizes?

Nah, i think life points are easier to deal w/. I dont think Konami/UDE would be willing to print extra cards.

If we did, then we would be copying off of the Pokemon TCG.

And that would be bad.

do any of you guys think we should play with prize cards like in pokemon
instead of life points like have it wen a player kills a monster in battle they get
1 prize card any one................
If we do play like that, it will eliminate a lot of deck themes (such as burn and Exodia decks) and strategies. YUGIOH IS NOT THE SAME AS POKEMON!!!

Please at least think about these kinds of stuff before posting about it.

The text "you win the duel" from Exodia the Forbidden One is quite clear. It does not mean "you win the duel if the win condition is reducing your opponent's life points to zero," and it does not mean "you win the duel if the win condition of the game is to claim all prize cards by destroying your opponent's monsters;" it just means "you win the duel." So no matter what the win condition -- taking prize cards, reducing life points, etc. -- you will still win the duel.

Sorry, but I thought the creator of this thread meant if the only win condition was to pick up all of the prizes.

Lifepoints are more manageable...Pokemon and Duelmasters died and look they were games that didn't use points to calculate life...

When Duel Masters first came out, it looked very similar to Magic. I'd rather play Magic over Duel Masters. More cards, and less little kids playing it.

Anyways, I think we can pretty all agree that Yugioh is very popular and will stay popular for many years to come. (yikes, because it better! *shakes fist*)

My dear duelist, if Pojo still dedicates a part of www.pojo.com to them, then they are not dead.

Just to chime in....Duel Masters wasn't really
designed to last. the point of the game was to hook young players on a game similar to Magic, then when DM dies off most of these new players eventually gravitate towards Magic.

Anywho, a Prize-win format would be really, really bad. There are several decks that depend on key cards, and I know I wouldn't be very happy just to have it end up as a Prize

no because premature, snatch, n other cards would cease to be playable.

Kill 8 monsters and you win!

...no, Yugioh isn't Pokemon; it isn't that simple. In Pokemon, it's 1-vs-1, and it can take some time to kill the opposing Pokemon, and thus they have prizes. In Yugioh, one attack, one magic, and one trap can kill a monster instantly. Unless they maybe had...15 prizes (because the general monster line-up is 17-20), then perhaps, because it's hard enough getting 5 monsters for Avarice God knows killing 15 would be tedious. Still, though, LP is much better.

No that is just..just bad! For one thing, in YuGiOH monsters are killed way to easily. All decks would turn into huge vanilla beatsticks with equip cards. I think that is way more boring than the CC of today.

Prize cards are not for Yu-Gi-Oh. I do admit though, it was exciting to get a prize card each time you defeated a monster in Pokemon. But a Pokemon game can talk a LONG time to finish. Sometimes an hour or more!! Epic Battles TCG kind of uses a prize card system to keep life. You discard cards from the top of your deck when you talk damage, and when you have 0 cards in your deck, you lose!

I honestly hope they do.

nah, this game has a totally different structure, it's like trying to use land from magic, it just isn't balaced for this game.
