The first time I drew Horus LV4 there were red northern lights in the sky. The day I got the pack with Horus LV4 in it, the sky was a cool-looking red. When I drew it, I was told to look outside and I saw the red northern lights. That was the first Horus I got, too.

My cousin somehow beating me with a random deck of cards that had no business being put in the same deck O_o;
Also my ex-girlfriend actually asked me to teacher her how to play YGO, So i did. Then like a week or two later she says "let's play strip YGO, everytime someone loses drops down in lp (8000 to 7000 to 6000, etc) we have to take off an article of clothing." So I was game for it.........
And ended up getting my [insert non pg rated word here] whopped. The sad part is i wasn't trying to lose on purpose

What does YGO have to do with the social life? I mean, it has given me lots more friends, surprisingly...
The weirdest thing...probably the people; people in this game form teams, carry around lame mats, and travel all over the US just to be #1 when their decks look the same as everyone else's, and then they complain on Pojo about losing to lucksacks ><

The other day one of my friends was playing with his exodia deck against a little kid in a tourney and when he got all the exodia pieces and declared victory, the kid started screaming "That´s not fair, That´s not fair" for like 10 minutes, so everyone gathered to se what happened and i asked my friend if he cheated or what happened and he was freaked out trying to figure out as well.
So the judge came and explain the kid what happens with exodia.
And then the kid got out of the store crying

Hmm...
Probably when I got challenged to a Tag-Team Duel by a sixty-year old and his eight-year-old grandson... It was interesting, especially when the old guy started playing Japanese cards...
Or, one time, a friend of mine from school was flirting with this girl and I, not thinking, tapped him on the shoulder and asked him if he wanted to come over that night and practice for the upcoming touney. The girl's eyes lit up, "You play Yu-Gi-Oh? That's cool, I play with my little brother sometimes. You should come over sometime so I can play you!" And so he did and, apparently they made a bet on the Duel- if my friend wins, they go on a date. And so on Saturday he shows up to the tournament with her, as a couple, and they did pretty dang well! It was really funny, but strange...

My weirdest yugioh moment was in a toy store(coughkbtoyscough). There was this ugly-looking, sloppy-looking nerdy guy, maybe in his thirtys or late twentys. He was apparently on a forum, since when I wanted to buy some chazz packs, he asked me if I was looking for IRS to "combo" with the "new" Proto-Cyber Dragon. I said sort of, cuz i also wanted Magical Mallet. The other weird part besides the staff member was that I got Magical Mallet :D .

Weirdest, well theres been alot for me. Guess I'll say the weirdest two.
2)A homeless guy comes into a local tourney.Pays the 10 dollar entry fee.Bust out with his at the time top tier deck(this was before first ban list)He goes ape poopy when he gets beat by some kid.Hits the kid, store owner calls the cops, and homeless guy gets sent to jail.
But that has nothing on
1) I was talking about yu-gi-oh one day on aim with a friend, i accidently sent an IM about yugioh to some girl i was talking to. To my suprise she plays, so we end up going out on a date. The next week when i show up at a tourny. I'm playing against the second best guy in the store who asks me how my date with his daughter was. It's a small world afterall.

I can recall duelling someone in an official tourney one time, and he didn't even understand the basic rules! He normal summoned multiple monsters in the same turn, he flipped his face-down monsters face-up the same turn he set them, and he even summoned tribute monsters without offering sacrifices. I'm surprised he even got into the tournament in the first place.

True, so very true, this game is for people with some form of currency to their names. I on the other hand am poor, stupid parents making me pay my bills, I'm 16, I should get to use that money for selfish things, getting older is a total drag:( in most cases. The weirdest thing that I have come across:
Well Im semi new to yugioh, but it doesnt take that many brain cells to play it and be good at it, you just have to have the cards and a lil bit of luck. Well my cousin got me into it and This was my first time playing against someone other than my cousin so I didnt expect much. I joined 6 months ago. Well I played the top player at my local cardshop and I KO him fast. I was running Cyberstein/giant trunade/limital removal enough said.
Well this kid was furious and demanded to check my deck and see if I was running more than one LR. He kept *****n and complaning and saying I was a nOOb and how could I loose to him.. BLAH BLAH BLAHh I mean this kid was talking so much smack and kept seeing every duel i dueld that day. I finished second and I was just laughing inside because I couldnt believe this kid was just mad for a card game. When I told him GG he was yeah lucky game.

The sad part is i wasn't trying to lose on purpose She used strategy on you. :p Distract your opponent, then take advantage of it to win. I wonder though... what if you win with Exodia?
For me... It'd be winning an 8-way duel with a Last Turn deck. Then there was one time where some kid managed to get lucky and beat me with Destiny board......19?! And getting married? Yeah, wish him luck indeed, he'll need it for what awaits him.:pHehee.... I remember one of my friends in high school did that. He and this girl had literally grown up knowing each other. And as soon as they were old enough to legally get married they did.1) I was talking about yu-gi-oh one day on aim with a friend, i accidently sent an IM about yugioh to some girl i was talking to. To my suprise she plays, so we end up going out on a date. The next week when i show up at a tourny. I'm playing against the second best guy in the store who asks me how my date with his daughter was. It's a small world afterall.Gonna marry her? :-D I remember this one guy who I found out worked the same place I did, he played and he brought his two kids with him. and since they were old enough.....Well you can guess.... Daddy ended up paying three entry fees. Hehe...

What YGO has done for me is gotten me more friends.
Though, its stupid that others claim they don't play yugioh when I know they do because I seen them with cards and at card shops and what not. For instance, this one kid at school told me "Yugioh is gay and for nerds" when I saw him at the Shadow of Infinity preview. Yeah... He had to lie about playing it.

The weirdest thing about yugioh to me is really well this. Pojo and metagame and how its more of a community. Most people would never know about how big yugioh is in this "community". When I started it was more of a thing to do with a couple of kids at my school. Than I quit but got back into it after a brief 6 monthes. When I started to get better I somehow found pojo and decided to check out the message boards. Well I found out that yugioh is really really unusual. Some people are obsessed with it(like its there life) and some people find it as a pastime or something to do with their children.
I think its amusing and some what sad about how much people can get warped into this game. They don't seem to care about anything other than this and maybe sleeping. They spend their paychecks on just yugioh packs and cards. I am not saying anyone cause I know its just a small percentile that does this but there are some out there. I find this really peculiar seeing how this is just suppose to be a game but people had made this there life. For reasons only they know.
examples of people that are getting obsessed: people that scale constantly and make fun of others that dont. people who have 250+post in their first month(like people who just started in april) of pojo boards.
This is what I find weird, the yugioh community of pojo. Just mostly the obsessed ones.
Sry if I offended people but this has been on my mind for quite some time.

This weird American sent me a video tape with a glove and some cards packagaed in. When I put it in he appeared and defeated me in a duel promptly sealing my Grandfather (who happened to be there at the time) inside the tape (well his soul at least). I then was invited to a secret island in the middle of nowhere! Me and many others played Yu-Gi-Oh! with holographic duel tables and updated rules! It was a long and hard battle, but I was able to defeat him and regain my Grandfathers soul.
Wait a sec....that wasn't real life, it was the anime series.
I always get the two mixed up.

Yeah, well, you should be able to make fun of anything you want to, because you have the right of the first amendment. However, I'd remember that if you can't tell the joke to the people who you're talking about, then you shouldn't tell it at all. That's just a general rule.

Oh, and the reason I got into this game was during a boring episode of WWE Smackdown! My friend pulls two decks out and explains the rules. So, yeah.

The weirdest thing for me is the fact that people can get realy pissed og when you say it's just a game and how much did you spend on that bit of card bourd. Some people love the game. Thats weird.
I remeber also watching the tv program then buying the first gameboy game, I then go to my freind house and find the biggest collection of yu gi oh card ever and there more of my freinds playing the game. It took me about a year to start collecting the cards and playing. :D

Well he thought it would be fun since he losed all the time anyway. Now though his back to making normal decks to try to win with but back then it was funny. He would use cards like wall of revealing light, pay 7000 then next turn use a heavy storm and use weak normal monster. :D Or monster that would damage him.

weird? I got weird.....
-I quit the game cuz Chaos pretty much broke me and other stuff was happening in my life, and I swore I would never come back until they made either Elemental cards (to counter the Light/Dark Chaos) or superhero cards....a week later, TLM was released with the E-Heroes
-one night after a regional I was playtesting at Denny's with other judges. We were there til like 5am or something, and during the night one guy said he had a Hero deck so I took a look...it had like 3 Heroes and the rest were "staples".....I could hear the deck screaming
-at the last reggy I entered, I took a rogue deck with a single copy of Neos. The only time I won was when I drew Neos, and my record was 5-3
if that ain't weird, I dunno what is

the weirdest thing i've seen in this game is how it makes people so serious about things if they get serious about yugioh. I used to have a friend who made a team with me and my friends just so he can look like the best and even when not playing yugioh he pushed us around because he had *the best deck on the team*
Well now he's a community college drop out(they kicked him out...) who has no job, lives with his parents, and he's about 19 right now. He has no job and all the money he gets he spends on yugioh. Oh, and he runs this really inconsistant dark gaia deck that always goes 1-3, 0-4, or 2-2 AT BEST at LOCALS...
And yet, he STILL goes around locals calling other people *scrubs* if he looses and he even does this to the little kids there and he's just generally a P-r-*-c-k. Sad part is his brother told me before he played yugioh he actually stayed in school and did well, was a friendly guy, and he wasn't an @$$.

I don't know...
Two weird things...
I went to a regs like 4 years ago, and some dude made it to top8.
He was wearing a hooded cloak and playing like seto kaiba, aall yelling his actions and drawing cards and throwing his hand in the air letting everyone see his cards, like kaiba duels in the show, with a zombie toolbox deck though. It was very very funny but very very weird.
Then Another guy that top8 was from across the state and now he lives in my town and were good freinds and one night when were all drunk told funny stories about being stupid and young and were like
"I played yugimons"
"Mee too"
"Noe Wayz!"
Then i busted out the video of regs
"Look at this D o u c h e bag man, lol"
"Holy CRAP thats me!"
"........BWHAHAHAHAHAHAAA Your gay."
It was so funny, I never regognized him. Were still good friends, and started playing again, lol

ummmm.....i got two. ok so we were like 6 hours from home, like 5-6 of us in a hotel room with two beds. we decided to put the big guy and the smallest in a bed and two medium sized guys in the other and let the other two figure it out. so one of the medium sized guys wakes up first and tries to be all mature, so he goes to the sink to splash some water on his face and accidentally kicks me. swear to god i was gettin pissed cause it kept happening on the floor so i hid under the sink and slept. so i get up and i look at the beds to see whos up and the little guy is like 5'3 110 lbs and the big guy is like 6'4 355 lbs and the little guy has his leg and his arm thrown over the big guy all super super cuddly-like. we all loled so hard he woke up and was like "what?" and we just point and laugh.
this other time this guy was like 30 yrs old at our local, and hes playin this kid and hes like I ACTIVATE DE SPELL, POWERING UP MY MONSTER BY 700 ATK POINTS, ENOUGH TO BEAT YOURS!!!!!!! and then it got all awkward and quiet, and a couple of minutes later hes all super loud again and hes like I SUMMON THE MIGHTY BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON. MY MONSTER WILL DESTROY YOU!!!!! and he totally didnt even sack for it. so i was like imma collect enough blue-eyes to build a whole deck with and duel him with it to see if craps himself. so far i have like 215 in total. oh and btw pm me if u wanna trade some bewds lol

Nah at that point the majority people aren't as big *******s for what you do or simply won't care and go on with thier lives. I say the most part because Chavs act like complete 'tards no matter how old they are and insist on trying to a bite out of anyone and everyone (problem is they don't know when to stop and inevitably they get broke... badly).
Anyway, weirdest thing that ever happened to me was I was going 4-1 with Crystal Beasts in my first Nationals Qualifier ever (after getting back into the game 3 months ago) so I went up and started getting a really bad feeling about whom I was up against. This was due to two factors:
1) It was on the top table.
2) The name was a tad unusual thus adding to the uneasyness
Needless to say I got my ass handed to me but he was a crazy good duelist so i'm glad I lost to him. Also he used a Burn deck similar to what I used to use about 3 years ago so he got respect from me.
Also at the same place one guy went completely mad for my Darklord Zerato. I'll tell the story. I was going 1-1 (The loss was actually because we entirely missed the first round haha) and decided that during lunch i'd go around and get some trading in. One guy notices I have Darklord Zerato and then suddenly a small crowd of duelists started crowding a little making me bogus offers for it. One guy rushes in and just asks what I wanted for it. So I reply:
"I'm really after Il Blud for it".
So he goes off on his merry way and I make a few more trades around the place and then the third round begins and i'm setting up against my next opponent with two of my friends sitting around me when the same guy comes up and straight up offers me £40 for it. So being confused I just went and stayed on my ground that I wanted Il Blud for it and nothing else. He pauses for a moment and then says:
"I'll get you Il Blud just keep that card".
So my friends go and say "Dude, why didn't you take the £40, that is an insane offer". But I just said that I know what I want and £40 won't get me an Il Blud. So after defeating the guy in the 3rd Round I went around and tried to do some more trading although this time the pros came around me who'd been near the top tables all day and looked through my folder noticing Zerato. At the moment one of them asked if i'm trading Zerato, the same guy (who was later revealed to be called Mark) rushed over to me with a 1st Edition Il Blud in his hand ready to just fork it over there and then. So I inspected it briefly to ensure it was real and then simply said:
"Well I guess it yours then. Thanks".
But what makes this story so golden is not that I got a Darklord Zerato for an Il Blud, but that the Darklord Zerato I actually got in a trade with someone for a Ultra Rare Cease Fire (PSV), a Secret Rare Lava Golem and a BEWD (SDK) and also managed to get 2 Deck Devastation Virus along with Zerato. So all in all I got my Il Blud for nothing more than £15. But everyone seemed to be happy so everyone wins as far as they know ;).
