I was looking through my Trade Book and came across this card,

Legacy Hunter
Earth/Warrior/Effect Level 4 ATK/1000 DEF/1500
When this card attacks a face-down Defense Position monster and destroys it and sends it to the Graveyard as a result of battle, your opponent returns 1 random card from his/her hand to his/her Deck. His/her Deck is then shuffled.

Now that seems pretty good IMO. What does everyone else think about it?

It would be better if it sends the card to the grave but still sounds pretty good.

Legacy Hunter isn't that great of a card. First off, it has poor stats. Second off, it has to destroy a monster and it has to be face down. A bit situational and it's rewards doesn't fit it.

No, it wouldn't. the graveyard is far more accessible then the deck, and DW monsters don't kill you after this guy goes off. With MoF running around in twos and other weenie flips being mained, it just may work ok. Just be ready it to die. A lot.

1000 Attack essentially eliminates his chances of seeing a lot of play. Had his stats been reversed he could have made for an interesting pseudo Don for the Earth type. He can be ran over by too many monsters. An interesting monster none the less, try it out.

faced down cards are usually effects that you would want to negate. so Mystic Swordsman is better. cards that are usually set faced down are spirit reapers, good flip effect monster, or monsters waiting to be attacked.

Go for MS LV2 or Don...

Both get the job done in an equal way but Don has better stats and LV2 has the better effect. =/

I can see this maybe working with a few Rush Recklessly..
But anywhere else.. nah. =/

The attack of this card ruins it.

Legacy Hunter (http://www.pojo.biz/board/showthread.php?t=146456)

Old build, but the idea still holds up, I think.

crappy stats = wont be destroying many fd monsters

sak stops it, widespread might stop it, trap hole stops it, as does waboku

i'd rather use mslv2, drillroid, dda, donz, ddwl, ddw

just dont use it

... It would be broken and be a staple.

People should really think before they post.

I'd rather deal with the face-down effect that is on the field. Drillroid/Mystic Swordsman over this hunter.

In theory, it's a +2, but in reality, it will never get its effect off.

it's crap if it's effect was able to trigger just by causing damge it be near broken

Well its searchable via:

Giant Rat
Last Will
Warrior Lady of the Wasteland
Reinforcements of the Army
Sangan

However its the whole package which makes it terrible. Go
ahead and waste a few cards if you want to make sure its
attack goes through and have one of their cards added to
the deck.

Face-down defense means Book of Moon, Tsukuyomi, and
Swords of Concealing Light.

The monster has to be able to be destroyed in battle. So
this means Gyroid and Spirit Reaper don't apply.

Many of the monsters it could destroy would have effects
which can compensate for the loss of the card from hand
to the deck. But then again it's still a card from the hand.
So it couldn't be good for the person on the other side of
the table.
