Okay, this idea has probably occurred to several people, especially those who also play M:tG...

Why not have more than two formats for YGO?

Like....

Type 1: Uses first banlist.
Type 2: Uses second banlist.

et al.

Why not just create a new format with the first banlist of each year?

That way, we won't have:
Traditional: all the broken cards
Advanced: none of the broken cards

Anyone else think this would be a beneficial, albeit complicated, policy?

How about a format like Type II in Magic where you can only use a certain number of recent sets

I'd rather keep it the way it is.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG can't do what MTG does with their sets. Too much support spans over each and every set (i.e. Gladiator Beasts. Have support in GLAS, PTDN, LODT, TDGS, and soon to be CSOC). If this TCG was like Magic the Gathering, then Gladiators would be dead and so would all over the other deck types like E-Heros, D-Heros, Gravekeepers, etc.
