I've switched my Ludicolo out for an old friend, Cradily. I think Cradily is a better special sponge and can tank up better than Ludi can. But I'm in need of a decent move set for NB. Smogon has a lot of nice ideas, but I'm not sure which to use. I currently have:

Cradily@Leftovers
Suction Cups
Careful/220 HP/90 Atk/200 SpDef
-Rock Slide
-Earthquake
-Toxic
-Recover

Is this set fine, or are there other possibilities I could use? Should this set be improved somehow? Thanks in advance!

Doesn't Cradily have any form of support move? Haze/Phaze/Spin/Aromatherapy? Or any stat boosters? Since they can't Roar/Whirlwind it, only a real Hazer can stop it.

Cradily can use both Barrier and Amesia, which are great for comedy value. What's scary is that you can actually kill some stuff with it, although you're completely screwed against any steel type.

Anyway, Toxic is generally useless IMO, I don't think there's any situation in which it would be more of a help than a hinderence. I usually like HP:grass for Swampert and such, although HP:ice works really nicely with Earthquake, and gets the SE hit on Flygon and Claydol, the only things that resist EQ+RS.

Good Helper Interfed_OV; As you already know, Cradily is wonderfully versatile. Don't forget that it can also act in the role of an elec type on your team, as well as the more traditional sweeper and annoying super-recoverer. Guess it depends on your other team members and the role you need Cradily to pull off for balance.

I used to have movesets for each Cradily Role, and when I saw your post I looked for them, but I didn't have any luck finding them. If you are interested and can't find the moveset info for a specific role you need, let me know and I'll look again.

Got Cradily?

Smogon has only 4 move set possibilities, all of which involve Toxic. They must be as old as Ru/Sa, because Toxic was more popular back when they first came out.

I don't remember how versatile Cradily is since I haven't used him in a long while. I need him to serve an annoyer/utility role on my team, but I can't seem to build suitable move sets out of his NB moves list. I can't find anything outstanding enough to work well. Confuse Ray is meh (only works with Paralysis support), everybody hates Toxic (but arguing with Smogon is blasphemous), super-recovery is only possible with Ingrain (which sucks), and sweeping isn't really Cradily's forté (defending is more up his alley). Maybe you can find or make up something that can work and that has awesome moves in it as well. Thanks for trying to help, SA. I'm sure you can pull something together for me. Thanks in advance!

I looked again this morning but can't find the movesets. The reason is when I cleaned my room a few months ago I had to throw out a lot of stuff and most of my pokemon stack of papers went. I only kept my guides and a few papers about teams I had and some other pokemon stuff. I must have thrown out the papers with movesets.

Hopefully you'll be able to get helpful suggestions from some NB players. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. SA

Maybe they're on the forums still, just stored in the archives section. Meh, you never know. Thanks again.

I exchanged Toxic for Confuse Ray on my NB Cradily. EVs and Nature are still the same.
