ok since swampert is already slow.. would it be a bad idea to give him macho brace so he can be even stronger
Macho Brace just doubles the EVs your Pokemon would get.
The Speed difference is barely noticable anyway.

It is extremely time-consuming to begin explaining what EVs are. I even had some trouble understanding what they were myself when I first learned of them. This should help simplify the learning process of what they are:

Here you'll find information on EVs and the Macho Brace. Set aside some time to read and reread this, because it's not entirely clear. The training portion of the game will make much more sense once you understand what EVs are!

the macho brace barely decreaces the speed so it barely increaces the EV

Hi, it halves speed and doubles EVs.
