I change favorites almost as often as I change socks, so pinpointing a favorite is impossible.

Everything from semi-popular bands like Cold and Tool, to even darker areas like Cradle of Filth to softer music like Lacuna Coil and London After Midnight and many points along the way.

I basically tend to veer away from stuff that's completely mainstream, and your rap and country genres. One of the few times i broke this theory is when Evanescence got popular....though that's not completely my fault... is it?

ok this really isnt the place to discuss it but maybe pojo really wouldnt have to have these ethics if a "debate" could atcually be a debate. Alot of people seem to be under the impression they are band, well if there are band then it is only because of the apparant inability of the users to discuss a topic with out it becoming bashing.

Calling someone stupid on the groups that they like good charoltte is not a debate.

The mods could ease up if topics like that were discussions and not bashing.

anyway this topic has been going supprisingly well, alot of people have said they like linkin park and no comments have been made which in all honnesty I would say has amazed me.

Yes, this really is odd and creepy.
Usually by now, I would be hanging my head in shame and moving on due to the schoolyard "you're a poo-poo face" arguements that would boil up at the mention of Good Charolotte and Linkin Park.

Could this be a path to the right track? Maybe so...

Dude, you seriously can't be comparing Sabbath to Nirvana? My favourite bands are Megadeth, Led Zeppelin, Saxon, Motorhead, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Misfits. And some more.

Hello, Jesus. *bows* *bows*

My personal top five bands:

Guns N' Roses
Alice Cooper
W.A.S.P.
Dion & The Belmonts
Iced Earth/Iron Maiden/Judas Priest (Tie)

I'm not totally "in" with all this new garbage the MTV-generation listens to, as anyone who knoes me well enough will tell you. Oh sure, I like a couple of bands, but that's about all.

hmm I like KoRn and Static-X at the moment. But my favorites change almost as frequent as the weather here in Georiga. Day to day, and drastically. But in all honestly, I like KoRn more and more with each and every new album that's released.

I didn't like "Take A Look In The Mirror" at first listen. But as of right now, that is whats dominating my CD player. But I also like.

Guns N' Roses
Rage Against The Machine
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Alice In Chains
Skid Row

Metallica, man. Then comes in Nirvana, at a very close second.

Well said, Jaggy. Well said. Metallica is also my favorite with Nirvan coming in at a very close second. Oddly though, right now I have been listening to some ugh, Norah Jones and the usual punk and underground stuff. Boy, the last show we played was so underground, we learned to speak Chinese.

. . . It is so lame that when a topic like this comes up, certain types of people always have to make comments such as "my bands pwn yours", "my music is so much better than yours", "nothing else even compares", and then see members congratulating others on their 'superior' taste, blah blah blah.
Could we be any more original...

I just wonder if it's possible for many of us to post our favorite bands and not get dissed once for them in any way... probably not.

Gee Shannara, you're learning about Pojo...unfortunately we cannot learn how to play nice here. Heck I even tried to get "favorite" topics banned on the new board, because they almost always end up like this. I was outvoted. Just do what I do...ignore them completely, unless there's absolutely something you feel a burning urge to comment upon.

Oh, and I can't stand the Eagles, but that's just me. I hear them all the time on classic rock, and I've grown to hate them over the years. Hard to pick songs. So i'll go for albums.

Sidenote: is it just me or has HIM EXPLODED in the USA in the past 2 months? it makes me kinda sad. Not sure why.

I also see i'm the first black/death metal freak on here. rock.

At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul
In Flames - Jester Race
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse
Immortal - Any album, they rule.

That's all i'm thinking of right now, besides Slipknot/Dimmu Borgir, but i think alot of people already know them anyway. Maybe not Dimmu.

Oh, The Cure is good too.

I'll shutup now...

That is not the type of response that should be allowed. Keep your flammatory comments to yourself. And the principle of communism is philosophically sound. Any problem with that and you are negligent. Please do not put down members' taste in the future or you will not be allowed to post.

"I never really liked the Beatles that much. I never saw why so many people obsessed over them. But I guess that's just me..."

arky I think liking the beatles as a group has alot more to do with the time they came out, the infulence they had on the time than to what they atcually sound like. I mean horror films, clock work orrange gave people heart attacks in the 70's butr by the time it was released on video which was close to 30 years latter it just seemed medicore and really wasnt as scary as it was made out to be. Yes you can have music that stands the test of time but the beatles is certainly music that is starting to show age.

lyrically they are really good but in sound with what people are into today on the whole its really not on par.

as for likeing five iron frenzy, I listened to a few songs and I dunno the music in an odd way was too upbeat they had the makings of a really great band but it was too upbeat, which is very odd cause I like upbeat music. Hell they even had relient k doing a tribute song about five iron frenzy and how great they are (I'd recomend downloading it, its called five iron frenzy is either dead or dying).

NoDoubt, well I liked them when they were a band, they sold out bad style.

"I don't understand why people get so damn touchy about music. I don't see people behaving the same way about their favorite movies. To each his (or her) own people. Back on topic. . .

I absolutely love Evanescene."

its ironic because you said you liked what generally gets deemed as an over hyped band that really lacks in talent in general, with the only thing different being is a female lead singer who isnt pop (avril) and isnt a drunk reject who has made a hit in years who recently got in trouble for bring drunk on a plane and being abusive. if you've not guessed yet I am reffering to courtney love.

It's really quite amazing how many of you like hugely advertised and comercial bands like evernesance and linkin park, I mean they are very mainstream but there ya go, you like what ya like and you dont like what you dont like.

"*sigh* Linking Park such a manufactured cheese band, in my opinion. Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, MM."

I'm not sure if the person who posted this is trying to be funny or is really saying his oppinion here.

Favorite band of time BLACK SABBATH! They're the reason anyone listens to metal today. Also; Solo Ozzy, Slayer, Hatebreed, Black Label Society, Shadows Fall, MotorHead, Down, PanterA, I'd say old metallica, but after that st. anger fiasco I can't even bring myself to listen to "Kill'em All" anymore.

Some new bands metal fans should check out; As I Lay Dying, My Ruin, Watch Them Die, Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy and Avenged Sevenfold.

Let's see.....

P.O.D.
Evanescence
12 Stones
Switchfoot
Aerosmith (the older stuff)
Daft Punk
Live
New Radicals
Relient K

and that's all I can think of...

If you like those bands, then you would like Five Iron Frenzy.

Just out of curiosity, what genre is this five-iron frenzy?

Good question. That's something that everyone, band and fans included, has been pondering for 8 years. They're sort of ska-core, which is ska (with horns) with a heavier rock influence. They've also experimented in reggae, latin, and others. They have very catchy melodies, with sometimes extremely funny, other time extremely intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics.

AFI- leaving song part 2

The Leaving Song Pt. 2 is the worst AFI song IMO. Listen to stuff from Black Sails in the Sunset, Art of Drowning, or any other AFI CD. AFI is much more than Sing the Sorrow.

I hope you realize that alot of people can't help but live in a mainstream environment. Their music is still close to their heart, you gotta accept that, hey. Though I do think it's pretty silly having a new Evanescence song as your "favourite of all time". Good times.

True. . . you do have a point. Perhaps that wasn't the best way to phrase it. I kinda know that it'll remain one of my favorite songs because I have listened to it over and over for the past year and still get the same feeling when I listen to it. However, my musical tastes are in the process of changing, so I'm really unsure about my favorite songs or even type of music and artists right now.
