Wow, great! I'm not familiar with C4D myself (infact I have never seen or used it) but I know that is something that is fairly hard to do. Maybe I'll get myself some C4D...

The first book image, the shading on the right (where the book goes away from you) the shading seems to black and white. It just looks computer rendered, compared to everything else which is very nicely done (such as the binding in the second image).

The book looks real,apart from minor parts of the shading....Looks like a photograph...wow.I may not be good,but i thought i'd comment,since i liked it.

c4d's a 3D modeling program, so you can make all those 3D abstract and real things with it. It's not very hard to learn (considering that was my first time using it) but i've had experience with another 3D program so i guess i had a head start.

in our applied arts class, we work with a program called 'Vector Works', wich is basically a poor version of C4D, doyou think that woudl help giove me a head start on C4D?

no idea. I used a program that wasn't very similar at all to c4d, and i was able to learn c4d sorta fast. i guess you could try
